For the longest time, I mostly had pet dogs (as it turns out, my mom is more of a dog person).
However, this past summer, we adopted a baby kitten && it has been love at first sight for me~ ;3

I love how Mika-chan is very self-sufficient, yet she can be adorably affectionate at times. She's also very attentive and energetic! hehe
I will probably grow up to be an old miserly cat lady, but I don't care! xD

I don't know yet. I've always had dogs since myself, my dad and Chris are all allergic to cats.

However, recently, I've discovered my love for them. I love cats so much and I want a kitten so badly. I can't though, because one of my stepmom's kids has such bad asthma that he'd die or something.

But if I had to choose, I guess I'd say I'm more of a dog person. I've been around them my entire life, cared about them my entire life, and I feel more of a connection to a dog at someone's house than I do a cat. I just don't have enough experience with them felines yet.

I'm a dog person myself, because of two things, 1, they can be soooo cute and they are much more playful compared to cats 'cats are boring' and 2, you buy a dog, you get a security alarm for free.... sooo that why dogs rule

I like both!!!!! Grrrrr, I hate these questions.

But in the end I went with the oggies :3 But don't get my wrong, I love my kitties....but if I have to choose.....I choose puppies.

Cats are pretentious little assholes who think they're gods if you give them food, while dogs think you're a god if you give them food.

It's fucking awesome on both ends.

There needs to be a both option. I love kitty's and dogs.

Cats are so fluffy and friendly and they can sense when you're feeling upset and they come in to give you a cuddle. They're like a fluffy huggy thing.
Also when they "meow " it's so cute. They basically worship you when you feed them; it's sorta funny in a way. Dogs act like this too.

Dogs are cute, friendly, outgoing and they will never leave you alone. They follow you everywhere and they're always welcome for hugs and pats. Also they love going on walks with you and you just feel like your his best friend in the world. You'll never feel alone with a doggy.

Though I might have to choose Cats if ever had to choose between the two. I like my time alone sometimes; and dammit Dogs won't leave you to have some time to just de-stress and collect your thoughts. Cats like to have their alone time as well; so with my cats I usually have my alone time when they do.

I would pick Dogs if I had just had the energy... but honest to God; I love them both.

Anyone who knows me knows I fucking love dogs hahaha. They're such beautiful creatures, so simple, all they want is to be loved and in return they will love you unconditionally. I have two little dogs, they do everything a cat could do and more. They offer me companionship, they make me smile when I'm feeling down and you can just see in their little bug eyes how much they care about me.

For me cats are a waste of space. I don't hate them, I like other peoples cats, I'll pat them and think they are cute, but I'll never get another cat for myself ever again. They're lazy, they just want you for food and then they fuck off and sleep and you never see them again. I dunno, I'm not up for that. Though kittens are always fucking cute and they're pretty hilarious...too bad they grow up.

It's too bad that I can't add a "both" option now, but I kinda wanted to force people to choose between the two! xD

Y'know, I used to think cats were mean and stingy little creatures who only cared about themselves, but idk... I feel like Mika-chan is different at least. She'll start nozzling me when I'm upset and as _Rabbit mentioned, it's nice that cats can also give you some space and alone time.

Plus, I love how Mika is smart enough to use the litter box. Literally within the first week I got her she used it - no problem. It takes awhile to train dogs to even pee on "wee wee pads." Even when you take them outside 3x a day (thankfully I had a backyard), they still manage to freakin' pee and poop in the damn house. >.> Puppies can be cute, but the recent puppy we got (not my choice) was annoying as heck. She was very destructive && she kept stealing my cat's food!! >.>O

I picked neither - I like turtles.

I've never had a pet dog or a pet cat (or a pet turtle, minus the online fictional friend of FFF). I therefore am not qualified to really decide. They're both very different animals in terms of behaviour and psychology, and I can see the different joys connected to each species.

I guess, as people say, you can own a dog, but a cat thinks that it owns you.

Therefore I think that a dog would be more of a companion in that sense. But, on the other hand, I can understand that dogs would require more attention too.

But when I dream my fantasy idealised future, where I can forget about all the work I'd need to do with a dog, I guess I do imagine myself with a nice loyal and friendly dog. A huge and happy fluffy one, with its tongue sticking out through its panting, smiling, mouth.

When I try to dream my idealised future with a cat, I just see a cat staring back at me and psychoanalysing and deconstructing my own thoughts. The cat would be interesting for its own merits, but I think the dog presents a happier image for me.

But... I still regard both equally in a general sense, but just for completely different reasons.

The only pet I really have is a fish. He's fantastic. He swims around, dances, waves his fins at me, and he genuinely interacts with humans in a way that I didn't realise was possible with a fish (and not just at feeding time).

I am a dog person. I grew up around dogs my whole life thanks to my grandparents (Max, Princess, Patches, The dog with the name that's hard to write, and I think now they have one called Snoopy). We never had any cats, but our neighbors had one back in 2000/2001 that was really black. It would run by me and scare me, so now I have a fear of cats. Add to that my mom always calling them evil and all that. I think dogs just look cooler anyway. XD

Always gunna be dogs for me. Ive had dogs almost all my life though ive also had cats. Dogs are so loyal and friendly. When you come home theyre charging and licking you because theyre happy to see you. A cat will just sit there like a grumpy bugger and only come see you when its hungry.
I do like cats but dogs are the best animals in the world. Theres no question for me.
