Did a Myspace Relationship Destroy Your Life?

i have an online relationship with my girlfriend we live in the same country and visit each other 5-7 times a year in our holidays :) this year is going to be our 3rd anniversary

Exactly. All the really good bits out of a physical relationship arn't there. The companionship, the fun, the sex....instead your reduced to talking online for a few hours and wacking one off. Not moving from step 1 basically.

That's not so bad now as you actually see her from time to time. Luckly for you it worked out but still kinda silly to begin with, but I wouldn't recommend a 15 yr old to go meet somebody long distance in the first place.

Personally i couldnt be done with the hassle of travelling to see them. I got pissed off having to take 2 busses to see my gf. Let alone a train ride or sumthin :gasp:

You are very right when we first met in real life trough we were just friends and i asked her to see her trough webcam ( to be safe )

When someone gives you a photo but not letting you see them trough webcam and/our asking your adress and age that is when you should look out


and call the police.

Aye. I was recently chatting to this lass on MSN and she ended up having this big crush on me apparently. Now I wouldn't have minded meeting up with her as she was kinda cool and cute (and legit. yes webcam ftw) but there was distance. Somehow I don't fancy forking out £85 odd for a train fair there, and to be honest I won't make that distance and spend that sorta money to have been going for JUST a day, so add it on again for the return journey a couple of days later....quite expensive for just abit of fun and a little sex (Yes if I make that sorta effort I DO expect at least a little SOMETHING yeah?).

I know it's hard for some people to come out of their shells around the opposite or same sex gender what ever your preference may be.. but to be honest relationships started off myspace or anything else would be primarily for sex or making out.. and who makes out without a compromise these days?

Just think.. you have a picture then you have text. I mean if you actually intend to go further.. what do you think you will do right when you meet? Sit down and talk some more? Maybe if you are castrated, but by that point you probably have talked there is to talk.. and all you wanna do is get "close" as some of you call it.

So I don't condone this at all yo! I would never know what advice to give a person who's been hurt by their "myspace" or online boyfriend/girlfriend... I'd probably be way to apathetic.
 
The internet isn't a bad place to meet somebody as long as you're not an idiot about it. >_> Although if you never actually meet the person I think it's kind of pointless. And yeah it is weird getting used to being around them at first because they usually are kind of different to what you expected, but if you like them enough it's worth it and you can put up with not getting to see them as often as you like because if you ended things then you'd never get to see them which is hardly any better.
 
For a thread in the spam hoose, its turned out some rather decent quality posts i must say.

To be honest I did kinda intend it to be a serious thread originally, that should have gone in the....errr, 'More Seirous Than Spam' section (See, I don't even know it's name! Shows how much time I spend there eh), but knowing me and how my thread's usually turn out I thought I'd take initiative and just keep it in Spam to save the Mod's having to actually do something. See arn't I nice?

Well check you out Mr.Happieness. :P Fair if you can put up with it though, I know I wouldn't, I'd prefer them to be abit more local. Besides I'm sure they would have trouble with my west cuntree accent if not exposed to it on a regular basis. I know most do ¬¬
