you ave to have a main debate then counter your own post, like i did in the example below. other than that enjoy.

so which do you tinker is better anime or manga? my bet is on anime because it always leaves you in suspense and you want to see what happens. right? but on the other hand, in manga, you can read ahead of the series and not waste your time on waiting, but you have to wait for the new books to come out as well.

For me it really depends. Sometimes the manga is better and sometimes the anime is better. Typically the manga is better because that is what the original author wrote.

lately I have just been into watching anime. I don't have much time to sit and read and when I do have free time, I just want to sit and veg on the couch. So for now, the anime gets my vote.

I've tried to read manga before and it just wasn't for me.

It didn't feel the same as watching anime.

Anime just brings the story to life moreso than when you're sat there reading.

I love watching the ending of each episode as it makes you want to watch the next one even more with the suspense of it all.

With manga it gets a bit boring for me personally. =/

True, with manga you can read ahead and find out what's going to happen, but that's why I find anime more exciting! It forces you to wait until the next episode. >.<

I like anime and manga, but I certainly prefer anime. I'm still relatively new to manga, but I'm not as interested in it as I am for anime. I prefer to see the anime in motion and hear the conversations than reading it in a book. Additionally, most of the very few manga series that I have read took a month for a new volume to release and I can barely contain my exitement waiting approximately a week for new episodes of anime to be realeased. Also, many of the times that I do wait a month for manga to be released, I am often disappointed that it contains about 20-30 pages. When I am finished reading(which does not take long at all) I dislike the fact that I have to wait another month for the story to continue.

I like books and all that, but I'm weird about manga. If I see the faces of the characters, I kinda wanna hear their voices too. With a text only book, I can totally vreate my perception of the character from the words, but when I see the character, the image is already half formed, and I want it all. I'm greedy. Shoot me. :hmph:

So for that reason, anime is my type of thing. :lew: I just like to form the image completely myself, or have it formed for me 100% Just one of my eccentricities.

I like anime more than manga. Although, in terms of the story itself, the manga's usually better than the anime since the story is usually more developed and all that.
But, IMO, an anime is livelier and more enjoyable. It emphasizes on the action going on, compared to a manga composed of only the static images. I suppose it has something to do with the fact that, in an anime, the images actually move.

For me, it's Manga. Anime is derived from Manga and is usually just a bastardization of it anyway.

judgeing from th poll, more people like anime than manga, why? why doesn't manga get as much credit as anime? please tell me why manga doesn't get as much credit as anime.

Because people like to watch other people.

it's easier to listen to someone bitch than read a script. That, and popular anime dubs usually air on basic cable channels. :elmo:

Manga is better, for me at least. Because in the manga, it doesn't have any filler episodes. You can enjoy the story continuously without having to be cut by those episodes that doesn't have any connection with the current story. Plus, I think you understand it more when you're reading. Some animes just likes to change some scenes. And the animation is not consistent, since they have this 'Guest animators', other animators to do some episodes. Anime is good but I think, manga is better.

I voted both.

Maybe I have some kind of good imagination? Reading manga is fine with me because I can visualize the action pretty well, just as well as animes, so I'm quite fine with reading mangas. Throw in the fact that they load a lot faster than animes... I'm up on it. What I lack at this point in my life is time, and since manga allows me to enjoy an epic story in a short time, I'm more than happy to take it up on it's offer.

Not that I dislike animes though. They're good, a nicer version of mangas sometimes, with good voice acting, music and basically movement. Humor is more easily expressed through animes too, honestly, but nevertheless, the fact that it does take a while to load poses a problem to my schedule.

who hates the fillers? fillers make anime really boring, you just want to watch people fight with each other instead of watching something that doesn't tie in with the current episodes, right? so manga is better if you think about it like that.

Manga. The plot's usually much more concise/focused, there's a lack of filler, and chapter-by-chapter is easier to follow than episode by episode.

Besides, did manga ever have "I'll take a potato chip...*uhh-huuuhhh, huhh -and EAT IT!"?

Nope :p

For an especially clear case of the manga being superior; watch Eureka Seven. Then read the manga. The difference is startling.

Or for a more recognizable example; Hellsing. The manga had nazi vampires eating babies. The anime had "Incognito".

Now, that's not to say there aren't exceptions. Sometimes the anime may equal its manga counterpart (FMA Brotherhood, Hellsing OVA) and other times it may even surpass it (Evangelion).

By and large though, I find that the manga typically does a better job of conveying a storyline.

I voted for both, and I shall explain why.

Sometimes, the anime is better than the manga, and sometimes the manga is better than the anime. Honestly, it all depends on how good the content in both versions is, and how much fillers there are in the anime. Let's take Bleach, for example. there are fillers, yes, but they're good one's; whereas naruto has bad fillers. Honestly, it's like i say: it all depends on the story within the anime/manga.

I think the whole Anime and Manga thing is the same as Books and their Film Adaption. The Film Adaption is almost never as good as the book that it was based on just like I think the Anime, while good in it own right, is almost never as good as the Manga it was based on. Take Sailor Moon for example. They changed so much in the Anime from the actual Manga and some of these things they changed from Manga I found to be better than what they had in the Anime. The Super S Season was completely different and better in the Manga than the Anime IMO and so was Rei Hino's character.

Another example is Hellsing. The Hellsing anime was lame but the Manga was amazing and that becomes more apparent when you take a look at the Hellsing OVA, which is mainly based on how the Manga ran, and compare it to the 13 episodes Anime that came before it.

For me it is both, I sometimes read a manga and I truly wish for an Anime to come out for it. Because obviously it's more fun watching the action moving than just a standstill. However, sometimes mangas are better off without an anime, Air Gear for example, the manga was truly marvelous but the Anime destroyed it. They really just grabbed the mangas pictures and colored it then played it like an anime...

What I hate about Anime is when it's a very long series like One Piece for example, due to the reason that they may catch up to the manga they put fillers but sometimes the fillers are quite nice.

I like to read manga as it's the origin but I also like to see the mangas I like, moving and with voices and what not, it's just an extra for me. so I voted both.
