As the title says he yells at Shane Hurlbut for walking through one of the scenes of Terminator Salvation back in july. The audio of it was recently "leaked". Only reason for the NSFW lable is there is alot of swearing dufing the audio clip. So if you want to listen to it at work/school do so with headphones and low volume. You will need something like windows media player since it is a direct link.

...What the fuck? I have lost so much respect for him. I used to have a lot for him as an actor, but not anymore. There was no excuse for the way he treated that poor man. It was just an accident. It's not like he did it purposely. And the way he insulted him? Ugh...I'm sorry, but that's just wrong. I used to think he was an incredible guy, wonderful actor, but now...? No...my respect for him just went down the drain.

Meh, there's nothing odd about that recording at all. It sounds just like Bale.

There's the article that discusses it.

The guy must have an anger problem. All I can say is that I hope apologized to that poor DP. There was no excuse for his behavior. People accidentally walk in front of scenes all the time and you don't hear about actors on set chucking a spaz about it.

I call it smug. You might have heard of it from South Park, but seriously, this is not the first actor to do this I guarantee, but the fact that he was caught on tape is laughable.

I mean these people (actors) are paid ungrateful amounts of money and then go around and spit on their company who helps them with every day needs.

It makes me sick, but we are still the people watching their movies and we will continue doing so without the least bit of bias.

Hahaha I haven't listened to the audio but I did read about it. It's interesting that he's not the first to go off for that reason. It must be incredibly annoying when you're in character and ready to give a performance and some jackass just walks in front of you. It is probably such an incredibly rude move that it would get anyone's goat. Still, from the sounds of it, he really exploded on the guy. While it was definitely not the best way to respond to the incident, Bale only used words to offend while the first guy used actions. Which is truly worse?

I can see why Bale became irate, but can't see why he got as verbal as he did. There's no defending the stupidity of walking around on-set while an actor is doing what he/she is paid to do, and I'd probably have a snipe at whoever did it too, but Bale was nothing but childish in his reaction. It's pretty sickening that he thinks he's so above everyone else too.

Yea, it's definitely hard to condone his actions and stand behind him for them. Still, I can't really condemn him for it either. It seems ridiculously over the top to us... but I can't imagine carrying that kind of pressure on my shoulders. Actors deal with a lot of stress and being interrupted in the midst of their art must be infuriating. It's a shame he lost his cool but if the worst he did is run his mouth, well... I think that's pretty forgivable. Who here hasn't ever run their mouth when they were frustrated, especially when they felt justified in their anger?

I'm with Aztec here to some extent, I think he might have been justifed in getting angry, but it was wrong to go on a full-scale rant in front of everyone. If you have a problem with what someone has done, take it up with them in private.

I have no idea of course if Christian Bale is a decent guy or a grade A ass, but let's face if he is the latter it's not like he's the only actor to be so. I freely admit a lot of the musicians and actors I like are probably gits, it just seems to come with the territory.

It still doesn't excuse his irrational behavior though. I mean I felt so sorry for that poor guy. I was also reading something on IMDB about how somebody else had accidentally walked in front across a scene and didn't mean it and the main actress didn't freak out and go all irate. She just smiled, called cut and laughed it off. Bale shouldn't have totally freaked over something as ridiculous as that. I don't give a shit of actors have stress put on them or not. I'd love to see them deal with the stress an average American does a day because of the current financial situation and economy issues.

I heard about that a little while ago, so I knew he had anger issues but I was quite surprised at how apeshit he went at Hurlbut. Accidents happen and I'm not sure about how the production of a film works, but wouldn't it just be a matter of re-shooting the scene?

IMO Bale should've just kept his cool, been a professional and had a laugh about it over a drink later on. I don't see why Bale had to go on such a rant considering he isn't even directing the film.

All I have to say is this: being a teenager who has worked at a fast food restaraunt, I know that everyday people do explode much worse for way more stupid shit. Unfortunately, I've been at the brunt of that anger on more than one occaision :(

Yeah, sorry guy, I accidently gave you fries instead of onion rings, no need to... belittle and swear at me, yo :monster:

IMO, the media's portrayal of an actor's personal life doesn't really affect my opinion on them or their work. It's grossly unfair to judge people you haven't actually met. The media can paint them as saints in one instant, or scum the next. In the end, only those there really know the context of the events can really have a valid opinion on the matter. For that, I can only shrug and brush off the issue, and can only assume that he was having a bad day, just like the angry people I've encountered bitching about their french fries.

But then, maybe I'm just naive in trying to assume the best in people. Meh. Either way, I don't really care. Bale's still probably one of the best actors of this generation. (Somehow the incident doesn't surprise me that much either considering the man has a history with severe depression - I don't see how him acting out is so shocking).
Plus, in slight defense of the entertainment community, actors/musicians/performers have some really fooking stressful jobs. I mean, they get paid alot for it, but money just compensates for that (though... it's pretty ridiculous in proportion, I must admit). It's a motivator to bear through stress, but doesn't actually reduce onset woes. I'd probably say that entertainers have it worse than some average, everyday people I've met.

I mean as much as I like him as an actor in the Batman movies, he really had no reason to burst like he did. I mean sure, he got mad, he was thrown off, and all tha jazz, but he just kept going and going and going.

I wonder if at any point of his tirade/bitching he stopped to think to himself "man, I look like a huge dumbass right now...". I doubt it, but sheesh, he just drug it out.

I will say one thing though, they did a good job ripping him a new one. Nice tune..

Yeah, I don't think he thought much of anything during that tirade. Three minutes is a long time to yell at someone. I felt bad for Shane but at the same time I don't blame Bale for getting mad. Though I do agree he went a little too far with his rant. Shane should have waited till the director called cut to check. Though if you listen Bale does say this isn't the first time Shane has done this so maybe it just built up over time.

I saw that song and thought of posting it but I decided against it.

Bale needs to shut the fuck up and get on with the film. Some of us have been waiting YEARS for this fucker and I got got a sneaky suspicion that im going to like it when it comes out.

That aside, I don't blame him for going off on one to be honest. I'd imagine that if I was a top actor such as him, that I wouldn't want some fool fucking up the scene at the best of times, nevermind numerous times which is what apparently happened here. Granted he did rant a little too long but still.

What a cunt.

I rarely use that word and that is the only word I can think of to describe this cunt.

How dare he think he's above anyone else in that fucking room!

It was NOT his scene in any way. He should have gotten over that a lot faster then he did. He shouldn't have even made a deal out of it at all.

I can't stand people like this. They waste all that time complaining and bitching, when they could have gotten over it and not wasted everyones time.

I have a girl like this at my work who has cries for an hour at a time about not getting her work down. FUCKING DO THE WORK AND DON'T CRY AND THERE WILL BE NOTHING TO CRY ABOUT!!!

I have lost all respect for Bale. He is a loser. A loser who a unfortunately gets paid a lot. <_<

Doesn't bother me in the slightest, typical media blowing everything out of proportion. People do this all day from the professionals to the everyday working class person he just happened to be a high profile celebrity due to the success of The Dark Knight working on a high profiled Terminator film. Unless it was someone who was equally high profiled the media wouldn't have batted an eyelid.

His language isn't condonable but he had every right to go off on one if the guy is pissing about, and I very much doubt it's the first time it happened either given Bale's reaction. No worse than what you see sports players mouthing nowadays imo.
