If I was determined to get an answer, yes. But I like my friends in the other forums.

Regardless....no one actually seems to say "this is a bad idea bexause it would affect...." or "its not a good idea because..." the argument is mainly about how I see it rather than the actual proposal. Its like an argument against a shaman to wear his special cream because it will protect you frkm demons, even if that sounds ridiculous, that cream has some minerals that can protect you from mosquitos, but people to concentrated on his belief, their not paying attention to the actual benefit.

I believe it can be easier to navigate. You all think im wrong, but that shouldnt affect the proposal and what it actually accomplishes.

And yes it is a point. Its an inconsistency in the forums to have an ff location outside of the ffworld section. And you know that. And you completely ignored the point that arguing that its "robotic" is like arguing square enix news is robotic. It doesnt even have to be "Introductions" it can be "Introduce Yourself!" Or "Say Hello to FFF"

I know im not the only one who thought. You dont deny guadosalam is a stupid name at one point, no one actually attempts to deny they had ti go through some form of trial with this forum except for the ones who casually come in at a yearly pace jn which never fully absorbed the forum 100%


Its at least worth expirementing. It can only go up from the proposal. Lets look at ffshrine. They have more active users than we do, and they dont evwn have ff at the top of the forums. That forum perplexes me. Yet, I also see similar trend in numbers.

In all fairness, the forum subsection names can admittedly be confusing for new comers. Some get used to it, some don't. The thing is though, someone could propose the complete opposite of what you just asked, and have "normal titled" sub-forums named something with a bit more spice to it. All in all, you cannot please everyone. Most of the time on this forum, IF possible, we tend to go with what the majority would like.

Just because something has been there for so long it doesn't mean it can't change - however, because it's been there for long a lot of people might not want it to change.

Another upside for naming sections rather than just titling them to what they are is curiousity. People check out the section to see what's in it, rather than ignoring it due to a compiled name to combine everything that's in that forum.

I think everyone should calm down though, what you brought up, Razberry, is a fair enough point, but you also gotta understand a whole forum isn't going to change just because a few people would prefer it that way. They do have to look at the overall picture.

While I think it's a fair point to bring up, I suggest mentioning the admins and see what they think. Perhaps a poll can be made by them, for changes, if it is going to be something to consider.

I would also like to point out that the members aren't really dodging questions, it's up to the site administrator and the admins to make any decisions regarding this.

All I was trying to do is stick to the main reason and thank you. Because I just wanted to prove it was fair. However the change is so miniscule in the opposite end, I think the poll should be directed toward newcomers.

I like to believe our community can look at things objectively. Perhaps a poll with a little feedback of why you voted for something would be a good idea, to avoid things like "Because it's been that way for ages".

Some people don't like change, and that's fair enough. I don't think newcomers should be the only ones to have a say in this. The older community is as important as the new ones coming in. That's why we like to look at this forum as a whole rather than "You're new, I've been here longer".

I'll give Staff a heads up and they can at least read the thread. It's not a crime to bring up a point like this, but I don't think the titles are what makes us a "less active" forum, really.

Either way, we'll see what the admins have to say. =]

Yeah ALOT of things I dont like about this forum. But its definitely something worth fixing. And if im out of line (lets say, I want a color so specific that cant be done). Then they can let me know. But im basically giving ideas to improve on. We have seamus black, cyan, and purple. I think we can go even further than just changing the frame.


Like I said, the naming is odd, their done randomly in the sub forums and in the first forum section. Why is Guadosalam the only ffx-2 world name in that section? Why do some of the subforums have such odd naming and others have standard?

At the very least, fixing these will make the forum look cleaner.

Is there something wrong with suggesting something new? Newbies have rights too.


What I ask is completely reasonable and fair. Stop making this about me and think about the actual proposal. You dont own the forum to give off that "who do you think you are" attitude.

No one liking it doesnt mean its a bad idea. Mods and admins are very open to the idea. And many who were once newbies mentioned some difficulty. So its not like its a completely off idea. Its just those who adjusted dont want to re-adjust. So in reality, its NOT a BAD idea. Its just an idea veterans dont like.

I can understand what you mean by 'everything is a mixed bag'. Those sections were named a while back by ex-admins, and I guess we all just stuck with it.

I do appreciate you giving feedback, I don't mind it. Whether something would be done about it though, we'll have to see. It's not a complicated decision by all means, and it shouldn't have to be. It's such a trivial point that making a minor change or not shouldn't cause people to react. We'll get back to this in a bit.

Anyway, now that you mentioned Finalbahn... that's actually something I've been wanting to drop for a while now, so I briefly brought it up to the Gaia mods and Tia. They're cool with this. People can just make threads in Costa should they want to discuss cars. The original owner of this site had a deep attachment to cars, hence the section.

Um.... I was able to learn all the different areas before I even joined the forums. The first time I came on the website on my laptop, I was like "Ohhh this looks different from the mobile version." But by the end of the night I was used to it. I don't mind the names or anything. I can't speak for all newcomers, but I didn't have any trouble with it when I joined. :jeri:

Right, so we will just leave everything (bar Finalbahn) as is.

- Guadosalam ... salam means 'hello'. It fits, despite the name being inconsistent from that small section.

- "The" Meeting Room - Uh, I really don't want to lose sleep over this, so we'll leave it be.

- FF themed seamus styles... a little too complicated and time consuming, especially since there's three seamus styles. It's a pain having to update every single style, because we'd have to update every little thing. I.e we'd have to jot down every single thing we changed so we can remember the variables and where to look for it. I can't see this happening.

We can always double check the descriptions, but all in all, I think it's pretty straightforward. A very few sections may seem a bit off as far as names go, but the majority seems okay with the names.

Appreciate you bringing it up though.
