Even if you weren't born then you might have learned something during History :neomon: Which 20th century decade was the best do you think? And why?

My vote goes to the 80s and 90s.

80s - I was born in the 80s. The 80s had the best music for it's time. Also the 80s had some great movies and technology was blooming as well.

90s - Nicktoons <3 they were the best. Nickelodeon was amazing back in the 90s. Music was great in the 90s as well.

I voted for the 90s mostly because I don't want to vote for a decade in which I didn't live. Even so, the 90s were pretty awesome. Ninja Turtles and Power Rangers! Good stuff right there.

Living in the 70s would've been pretty awesome, though.

80s and 90s, mainly for the music. I was also born in the 80s and just thinking about it and throughout my childhood years just made it that extra special.

I picked the 50s. Because it was a prosperous time for the US. Also, I like 50s music.

No, I am not that old. I just like the time.

I don't think there are any 8 year olds on this forum. xD
Or 109 year olds. >.>

I'd say 90s too. Not too much exciting stuff though. The music was great, anticipation for Y2K was kinda exciting, and everything was just great and dandy.

People not voting for the 60s should be shot, though 70s is acceptable.

60s had the best music, the best drugs and it had a cultural revolution.

It was tough for me. I picked both the 80s and the 90s. Mostly the 80s because that was my childhood and I have some rather fond memories, like My Little Pony, Carebears, the music. I can always remember my mom would make up a mixed tape of all our favourite 80s songs when we'd go on that 2 1/2 long drive to go and stay with my grandma for awhile and we'd listen to it on the way there. The 90s because of the music as well. I was into my late childhood early teens at that point. The 90s wasn't exactly the best decade for me though. Mainly the 80s, but I do like some stuff from the 90s.

The 90's were great. The last years in the era of: actual lunch boxes, hermit crabs, big ass swings, pinball machines, movies that don't suck, and real music

I've only ever lived in the 90's so it was the default choice for me. It's pretty awesome to laugh with your friends about all the stupid stuff we used to do back in those days. We'll probably do the same in a few years looking back to today.

90s 90s 90s! I loved the 90s so much! Everything was a little safer back then and computers weren't such a big deal and people actually WENT OUT to meet their friends istead of all the texting and internet stuff. I'm so jealous of those who were teenagers in the 90's. They got to experience so much more than I.

Well being a history nut I really tried to put a lot of thought into this, but I eventually had to pick the 90s as well :awesome: Everything before the 60s was a lot more repressive of minorities and women, plus people were a lot more ignorant about their own health and the environment, though it wasn't necessarily their fault :hmmm: And the 60s and 70s were cool because of the whole psychedelic/rebellious thing, but at the same time I think it would've sucked (for me, anyway) to live in that time period because seeing people zoned out on drugs all the time trying to ignore the world's problems would've pissed me off >_> And the 80s had some pretty cool stuff, but if I'd had to live back then and wear a womanfro and shoulder pads I would've jumped off a cliff  I know the acceptance of fashion styles is totally relative, but I've never really gotten into that sort of thing, and there are some things that are just ALWAYS bad, even if it's contemporary for your time period :mokken:

So yeah, the 90s :awesome: Best music by far, and a more relaxed time period--where I was, anyway :hmmm: They would certainly have been different for people in other countries around the world, but here in the US it was good.

Well, I would have to vote 60's through the 80's. I may not have been alive before the 80's, but I never got very into much of anything in the 90's or even the new millenium. I don't like much of the newer (90's and beyond) music though some of the movies, shows, and theatre performances were good. I also don't like that the 90's and beyond are when people seemed to forget how to visit other people and write letters and such.

Before the 60's was bad as Gamingway had pointed out because of the rampant discrimination that hadn't really been taken care of yet. I am not a drug user, but I don't have a problem with those who do drugs, so long as they aren't violent or mean. Thus, the right choice for me is the 60's 70's and 80's. I loved the music of those times, the slight old-school methods of communication, and the closeness of people. I will admit that the styles sucked, but the entertainment balanced that problem out.

90's for me. I was born in the 80's so I haven't got much of an idea of what the previous decades were like and my recollection of the first couple of years of my life is pretty blurry.

I love 70's and 80's music and cinema, but not having lived through those decades, I don't feel comfortable picking either.
