Ok so this weeks theme was The Legend of Zelda and here are the entries I recieved! Quite a turn out I must say. Well done guys!

theres a lot of good entries this week, my vote goes to number 5 however for it being a different and brave attempt, capturing the 3 main characters in a tri-force emblem, good show xD
 
Number 7 stood out as best to me, I really liked number 8 aswel, but its too darK d:

Love the image and the colous in 7, so 7 it is ^^
 
I like number 10 the colors for the background match Princess Zelda and the text does too. I really like the text wisdom because it matches the avatar so yeah 10 it is.
 
Even thought I entered I have to say that #6 is the best of all of them. The design is very good and the text matches the character very well.
 
I was going to enter, but just couldn't be arsed.

#1, focus more on creating your own manipulations. Your personal manipulations come first, texts and brushes come second.

#2 For me has the best balance in lighting and contrast, and I don't find much to be wrong with it other than a few personal quirky preferences.

#3 has nice text, and overall a good capture of Link. However, the BG just differs from the focus of the image's palette for me.

#4 Is a little too bright for me, and the text doesn't feel like it fits well.

#5's idea was really, really neat, but it's not really what I look for in a display icon.

#6... Would've been my vote if it didn't have the embossed borders. The embossed borders really dulled down the courage text and other effects.

#7 was very plain. I can't say that there's anything good or bad about it.

#8 was too dark for me, and was really lacking in manipulation.

#9 was a bit messy. Most popular icons are very simple. Don't try to make your icon like a signature. Icons are small graphics, and do not require as much effort as a signature to produce.

#10's brighting was a bit too bland for my taste. Text is nice to have on icons, but a majority of the time, it just clutters the image.

My vote goes to number 2.

Now, I know some of you may not like the criticism that I give

But just remember; it's not for someone else for you to decide whether your graphic is good enough to use. As long as YOU like it, that's good enough.
 
I vote #2, very neat idea, and executed wonderfully, so kudos to that one, nice job, I think that Triforce has a good shot at winning this whole thing, even with 9 other entries. ^_^
 
I'm voting for number 2, I like the lighting effects and I like the soft look it has going on. It's very simple but quite effective in my opinion.
 
My votes for #4. The lighting is abit bright but i love the colours and it was a good choice for the sig. Loved the text placement and choice. Good job.
 
#2's my favorite by far.

It shows the face mainly which is usually what I picture when I think of an avatar. The "K" in Link sort of blends in with the BG color, but it's still readable and looks good and is fairly simple.
 
I would have voted for 4, but I didn't really like the text D= Same with number 2, if it had no text, it would have gotten my vote.

I vote for ten, I thought it was the best overall as an avatar, and it was one of the only ones I could see someone using.
