A for Accents

I think its kinda weird when people say british accents. Theres scotland england ireland and wales and we all sound very differnt. There are loads of different accents in england. Geordie/cockney/scouse etc and its the same in scotland aswell. Some sounds ace otheres sound terrible:wacky:

I met up with this guy a couple of years ago in a friend's party and he had an Irish accent. I'm not fully sure why I started to love it from that point. A few of us just kept on pressing him to speak just to hear the accent. :ohoho:

I love the Aussie accent as well. I rarely hear it and I just think it sounds rather unique as well as sexy. :ryan:

I really like the Pure English accent from United Kingdom. Most of all the United Kingdom's accents are cool to me such as Irish, Scottish and all that. I hate hate the quebec accent. It is the fake version of the one from France. It sounds really different also. Tbh I have always thought Lara Croft's voice was gorgeous XD English accents FTW! German is nice also. One of my current teachers speaks english but she is german. It sounds a bit weird but nice at the same time xD

It is just really different than the english people speak here.

I really like the Pure English accent from United Kingdom.

There isn't really anything that can be described as being a "pure English" accent though. Britain has a lot of accents. Each city/region possesses their own accents and ways of speaking, such as dialects and colloquialisms. So there really isn't a "pure English" accent.

Bah sorry >_> I shouldnt have just said that. But thanks for the clear up Olivia. Not that you gave me a lecture or anything there xD Some do sound the same though :hmmm:

I hate valley girl for obvious reasons. I can't make up my mind if it is an actual accent or people that have used it for so long they are accustomed to being brain dead. "It's likkkkeee, yea like, cool beans, like.."
Oh please no. I hear so many girls with this "accent" it's driving me crazy. It's not as it sounds rather intelligent but rather makes it sound like they're Paris Hilton or something. Who is not on the top of my cool list, btw. :hmph:

Too many "...like...um, yeah...no way!". Ruins their presentations when they have to do it in class too. :wacky:

I am very attracted to a southwestern accent. The best I could call it would be a Texan accent. I've only been to Texas once and to me they had an accent and I just loved it for a guy. The girls where kind of annoying though.

I also like Aussie accents, but they're a little difficult for me to understand

I'm a simple guy, so a simple, almost non-existant accent is what I like most. Being a native of the New England area of the US, I favor this accent (as I'm so used to hearing it doesn't sound like an accent at all to me :lew:). I can deal with thicker accents in and around New England, like the Boston accent and the Brooklyn accent.

The only American accent I don't really care for is the deep south accent. Being a fast talking New Englander, the slow speed of their talk makes it kind of difficult for me to fully understand.

Having heard many Spanish accents in my time, they don't bother me too much either, but sometimes someone will have a voice that goes with it that makes it very hard to understand with their broken English. I used to work with a guy who had a really deep voice, but he talked kind of fast and was Domincan, and this combination made for a lack of understanding for most of us that worked with him.

I'm not really a fan of any other foreign accent. If I have to pay that close of attention to what a person is saying, then it just annoys me.

And for the record, voices are way hotter than accents. A nice voice will make me melt. :ryan:

If I ever said that that's what I'd be implying. It's funny when people say they like British accents and Scottish accents in the same sentence. :wacky:

I've never actually heard too many other American accents than what Shu said and the southern drawl. People around here talk about a New York accent and yet I've yet to hear one either.

Irish accents are just... awesome. As are Scottish. Well, depends on the accent for the Scottish. Lew's area is awesome. But there's some areas where the accent is so thick that I sit there like ".... whut?"

Now. Accents that are classed more Foreign for me...

American. The Southern Accent is awesome if it's not too thick. I love a few guys from here's accents. I don't know exactly where their accents are from them. (Ringo, Dan and Jesse. :jtc:)

Kevin has a pretty sweet voice too.

(Make sure you wear 'shorts' :jtc: and a number 86 shirt /insidejoke)

I adore the Asian accents. Especially Japanese and Mandarin Chinese (when speaking their native language) There's something so mesmerizing about it that I could just sit there and listen for hours. Not caring that I could only understand parts of it. XD

Norwegian O_O Again, especially when talking their mother tongue. IT's hawwwt. XD

As for the English accents... I hate most of them... Cockney accent amuses me. :wacky: The Brummie accent grates on me like nails on a chalkboard. As do the Geordie and Scouser accents :ffs: (I love my partner's accent, but people might call me biased :wacky:)

Also. "Proper English Accent" is actually The Queen's English. So posh... snobby... snooty. :wacky: That's the "proper" English accent, apparently.

Lara Croft... Adri... :jtc:

Well, Jennifer Lopez has a classic Brooklyn, so that's one to hear for. :lew: It's hard to explain how it is, but you definitely hear it with some words. And the Bostonian accent is basically leaving out like an 'r' in the word car, so it sounds like "cah". There are other similar words that has this sort of butchering of words. I can't think of anyone famous who has a thick Bostonian accent though. :hmmm:

Irish is excellent to listen to. Only on girls though, Irish men get irritating after a while if it's too thick.

Other than that, I've got none. Australian is somewhat relaxing, probably because it's rather laid back. I tend to hate most other accents from around the UK, like scouse. It makes me cringe.

Besides Aussie accents, Geordie accents are awesome because i am one.

The Brummie accent grates on me like nails on a chalkboard. As do the Geordie and Scouser accents

To be honest the geordie accent varies, you get people that hardly have a geordie accent but are from Newcastle then you get People with a strong accent. and then you get the dopey fucking accent that Sky Sports news always seem to get when interviewing the Geordie public. people like

"ayee like it canny good that this blokes coming to the toon think he'll dee areet for us and get a canny few goals for us like!"

that annoys the hell out of me. why interview someone with less intelligence than a goldfish (best comparison i can come up with) and Scousers are the same imo

Yes, I like British accents. British accents are fun because the person's tone of voice kind of makes them sound like they're scolding you..... even though they're not.

Aussie accents are pretty cool too.

I love any kind of accent that comes from the UK, but thick Scottish accents are my absolute favourite. A lot of people in my extended family have them, so I guess I'm kind of biased, but I just really love the way they sound.

Im partial to liking the irish and german accents (mainly because Im part irish and german via mah and pa) I also like japanese accents. The way they sound is just sooo cute lol.

Ugh, English accents...
I hate them...so much... and I'm from England!
I'm from the NW, so I have the dubious honour of living geographically very close to Liverpool. Ugh.
And then of course there are all the faux-scousers in places like Runcorn, which sound a million times worse.
It doesn't help that most of them make up words completely or butcher regular words, have a limited vocabulary, or are just generally stupid.

It's weird though, in the sense that Runcorn's accent is put-on. I'm from Runcorn, have lived here my whole life, and don't have the ridiculous "faux-scouse" accent that the...chavs (for want of a better word) use.
I even have to repeat myself often to people, and vice versa, which implies that they don't understand MY accent. Wtf?!
