Famitsu.com has posted its expected followup article for the Final Fantasy Type-0 coverage that appeared in its print counterpart this week.

King

King and Sice

King and his dual guns. The guns have infinite ammo, but they have to reload. You can press a button to reload manually at your own timing, though.

Sice and her scythe. She's said to be boyish due in part to her rough word use.

Eight and presumably the unnamed flute girl.

Eight and his weapon of choice: his fists. He prefers his fists because he's not a fan of weapons, which he believes easily take human lives.

Arecia, the head of the Suzaku magic division. Oh great, she's one of those head band, low glasses types.

It's Morphin' Time. Again!

Gilgamesh. He appears here as a l'Cie chosen by the Genbu crystal. A l'Cie has the same meaning as in FFXIII -- someone given a mission and special powers by the crystals. In Type-0, he appears as a powerful boss.

Gilgamesh's home country, Lorica. The people of Lorica have directly taken the power of the crystals, and have big physique capable of matching up against weapons and magic.

The red Kill Sight and yellow Break Sight systems. Red means an instant kill. Yellow means mega damage.

Battles on the game's Active World Map. Unlike the standard three person party battles, these are fought with just one party member. A Moogle will provide you with orders.

In some AWM missions, you may end up freeing a city that has been taken over by the enemy. Succeed, and you'll be able to use the town to gather information and shop.

...oh, and hurray for Gilgamesh! Its good to see him up and about again. Is he the same Gilgamesh we all know and love, however, or just another character the FFXIII series has ruined? He'd better break the 4th wall, or else

King's infinite ammo is probably a Tomb Raider reference... and they are dual pistols! This could be just like Final Fantasy X-2 Yuna with the twin pistols I guess. All these School girls carry dangerous weapons.. but what can a flute do? Guess we will have to find out when flute girl gets some description. I still do not see any info regarding Cinque either. Dangerous weapons include Twin daggers, Scythe, shotgun, mace etc. Gilgamesh as a powerful boss is a nice addition. At least he more or less has a storyline. Haha Martel I can see where you see Bayonetta in Arecia xDD. The Standalone character missions are nice. Good to see that the group wont always be fighting.. but just one member sometimes. Freeing cities under enemy control is cool as well. I want to see Flute girl and Cinque description. Should not be too long.

But it IS a valid point...no doubt she'll either conjure something horrific, or she'll be able to control enemy monsters. Or maybe she'll be like one of the girls in Ar Tonelico, only with a flute instead of a song...

I can't believe I'm saying this but the Active World Map battle system looks kinda cool. I'm not sure how it'd work but it doesn't look too bad. i still don't get what a flute can do but what ever xD

Goodness me, what can I say about that Arecia? I saw Andriasang recently comment about her big breasts when they first reported her and boy, it's not hard to see why. Why does she look like such an afterthought to the game's characters cast list? It's like the team sat around a round oaken table and decided that the game needs more random sexiness or something at the last minute.

You mean to say that flute girl can summon a giant mechanical bipedal dinosaur resembling a cyborg Godzilla only cooler?

Nine (yeah I know, lame name. Blame Square Enix decided to have this cards motif). Spear guy - at least I think he's the dude with the spear anyhow. The Active World Map thing looks promising too, then at least it feels like we're in the middle of a wartorn world. Plus it's already more interesting than Crisis Core's 300-odd missions of the same thing.

Why is it all the characters seem to have practically identical body types? The only differences i'm seeing is hair and gender, bunch of skinny school kids

Also, I have a feeling I might dislike this Gilgamesh, seeing as how he has no noticeable relation to the past ones, ie being one and the same. Considering he has a home town and he's a l'cie, and uses a giant sword instead of a Naginata/numerous weapons. He doesn't even have 8 arms

I just spat my drink all over the screen, and almost fell onto the floor in laughter after reading that comment. I DID see that character as strange looking, but didn't see the PERFECT resemblance until you brought it up.

...On topic: These screenshots are beginning to convince me that this game may actually be good. But I'm also starting to begin to wish that they released this on a bigger console, because the PSP is becoming so obsolete that barely anyone will get the chance to play this. The NGP is just going to bury this game, I find.

Odin Slices Through Enemies In Final Fantasy Type-0

Odin will be in Final Fantasy Type-0 and it doesn’t look like the Eidolon will transform into a robot horse either. After you sacrifice a character to summon Odin, you can use three powerful attacks.




Full Moon Slash is a wide sword slash that can hit a group. Jinba Ittai, synchronization of the horse and rider, allows Odin to quickly close distance so he can get in range to attack. Zantentsuken is Odin’s usual attack that can cut an enemy in half, instantly killing them.
