if you live in america.. you may preorder the vita version of the up coming final fantasy x remastering, amazon lists the game at $40 and gives an December 2012 release date (i wouldn't trust amazon when it comes to release dates)

found this myself when looking for vita pre orderings and i can't see it on europes version of amazon

This qualifies as news? :srsly:

Also, LOL. December 31st, 2012. If that was an accurate date, the fans would go INSANE. The Versus XIII fans even more so, because assuming that myth ever actually gets a release date, I'm willing to bet it'd be after FFX's port.

Stella Nox Fleuret:

well yes it gives pricing as well as an possible release date... sooo yh i think it news :wacky:

If you say so. This is still better than anything XIII related...unless it's Caius-related, of course :britt:

Regarding the listed price: that is far, FAR too expensive. FFX wasn't even worth that much the first time around, I will be in my cold, cold grave before I pay full RRP for a digitally enhanced port of an ancient game. HD games never go for more than £30, and you get more than one game on those. I expect this to be knocked down to £24.99 at least, because it really isn't worth any more money than that to me.

looking at converting the us price into pounds it works outr at about 25 pounds :P.... but it most prob won't be that.. cuz all square does is charge too much for their games XD

Prices are very rarely, if ever, converted accurately across countries. We pay significantly more for our games than the US does...well, the gap has been reduced somewhat due to the exchange rate (god, I miss the days when importing was so unbelievably cheap) but I can see Square Enix trying to charge £30 or above for this, which they really shouldn't be able to do. But then, Square Enix are all about the money these days, so it wouldn't shock me...after FFXIII, nothing shocks me anymore.

...well, I might be a wee bit shocked if they released Versus XIII

I just want you to exercise some caution when you make news threads based on things Amazon have got recently listed. The reason why this may not really be seen as creditworthy news is because Amazon does this all the time. Like all online retailers, these release dates are only tentative and don't really confirm anything unless Square Enix themselves clarify it, in which case it would be reported via a news article, as the guidelines state:

Perhaps there is some speculation somewhere on the internet that may evoke a lot of interest from other members, but please ensure that your news thread topic is corroborated with sufficient evidence from an actual and trusted news website such as Andriasang or VG247.

Rather than locking it (something I rarely want to do anyway), I'll keep this thread running if people wish to continue discussing this. :dave:

me look at the guidelines... nope i never do XD... ok i'll make sure it from a proper news site next time :P sorry

@Stella Nox Fleuret: :trollface:

You can't troll me, I had a feeling that this was going to happen :trollface2:

Its going to be easier for them to remake X and release it than finish Versus, I'm pretty sure :lew:

...I doubt they have that much of the game finished...they didn't even have a Japanese voice actor for Stella in this last January's trailer :damon: ...which is why I'm having a really hard time believing the "late 2012 release date."

Oh well. I have no vita, nor do I plan on buying one...so whenever this is released on the psn or on a disk for less than $20.00 I will buy it and play it for the first time

Hahaha this is not news. Amazon really has never been trusted with release dates. I know this for a fact because I used to check if they were real or not. If it were Siliconera or Andriasang/Gematsu, it would be more trustful. I would have closed it :wacky: Forty bucks for a HD port of FFX is kind of overdoing it in my opinion. The game is like ten bucks nowadays, and just to get a trophy system and prettier graphics is not going to make the game better in any way. It will go down in price fast though. I am going to assume the PS III version will be much less. Since Vita is new and all. :hmmm:

The only reason it's listed as December 31st, 2012 is because Amazon puts that as the release date for everything when there isn't a confirmed date :wacky: Next year they'll just say 2013 instead. I was hoping it would only be about 10 to 20 dollars, but looks like this is going to be sold in stores instead of just download over the PSN :hmmm: Better than 60, I guess.

Hatifnatten I am not sure Vita will be inferior. It will most likely equal ps3.

I want a hard copy myself. This game is worth it. No psn dl.

FFX HD :ohoho:

I'd like to get a hard copy as well. Great, adding this to my already long list of PS3 games to get :wacky: Just hope it's worth the 40 :hmmm: Is it just a remaster or is it now a full remake? 8(

Console you play at home>Handheld

^that goes for everything in my eyes.

Now, about this thing about FFXHD being 40 bucks, it's understandable, but definitely not a good price for a pretty much "better graphics" version of the PS2 game. But whatever, I don't even plan to get a Vita as it'll be a waste of my money, and PS3 looks like to be in my future in the next year. But hey, Amazon is lame when it comes to this, so yeah there's that too. :dave:

*rolls eyes*

You guys, Square Enix is not stupid enough to charge 40 dollars for one PS2 game, retexturing or remake or what have you.

If it is to be 40 dollars, it will also come with X-2 and/or XII. Otherwise it won't be 40 bucks unless they want no one to buy it.

Well to be fair to everyone here, Square Enix charging the full price for the game does sound like something they would do - so if they are stupid enough to do that, then it shouldn't surprise anyone. And even then with how highly acclaimed FFX is to most people, I doubt it would deter many people from buying it, particularly if they already have a strong desire to get it. 10th anniversary of FFX or not though, would it have killed them to include a remastered FFX-2 as well to neatly complete the two games into one package? I know a lot of people don't want to go anywhere near FFX-2 again, but that's irrelevant; if the price does turn out to be 40 bucks, I would expect FFX-2 in there too at least.

FFXII being the most awesome out of the PS2 FF games though in my opinion - I wouldn't mind paying good money for a remastering of that title on its own. :mokken: /bias
