The director of XIII-2, Motomu Toriyama said that this game will have multiple endings and I was just wondering how many of you will play through many times and be devoted to that rather than just finishing it once. Since it also has over 100 different monsters you can catch for your party I'll definetly play it at least twice. The only reason I have beaten XIII three times is because of the story. Now with varied side quests and mini-games I'll be playing this game over again for months. But only if the plot is at least as good as the first game.

I have heard about the multiple endings. I think I will probably get a walkthrough. I just want to see the best ending for my first playthrough. It's also due to insufficient time and impatience.

And I have this dislike of replaying games no matter how much I like it.

It will probably be like X-2 where you have to do these certain things in almost every chapter etc. Multiple endings can also mean that it depends on the choices you make. It kinda has the Mass effect style of choices so I can probably see it like that. If it is just like X-2 where there is a good, bad or 100% ending well.. I am sure it will make everyone want to get the 100% one first try. I probably will only play it once just like I did with Final Fantasy XIII. Just go for the 100% straight away on my first playthrough. I have 100%'d FF XIII and I will do it again for XIII-2.

While the idea of using option "trees" akin to Mass Effect is a fresh idea to the FF games, it ultimately looks like it was thrown in simply as an ingredient assumed by the developers to be something we would like, then watered down significantly. If multiple endings are triggered through this method, I can't see the multiple endings being that various and different from each other.

Oh goodness me, I hated that in FFX-2. If it operated like this I won't consider for a millisecond in completing it all. I'll watch them on Youtube if I have to.

You poor soul, subjecting yourself to such self-harm. D:

Im going to do the same thing I did with FFX-2 and aim for 100% completion (what I try to do in most games but FF is a must) Yes ill devote myself to see and unlock every ending in the game. Which is why Im glad the new plus is in, I replayed FFXIII 3 times and I got tired of maxing out all ym characters again cause the first time I played it I spent like a week maxing out everything when you first get to walk around pulse and then farming 999,999 cp to continue, and I didnt wanna do that again >_<

I'm probably hoping for to much, but it'd be good to see extremely different endings instead of the Moogle being a different colour ,for example, or some bull like that.

Also, I wonder who'll be the definite Antagonist... Purple-haired dude seems more "Seifer" than "Ultimecia"(VII wasthe only good example i could think of...)

Too much like X-2 :hmmm: I guess anything with a "-2" thrown on at the end will be similar in that aspect. I think the tree dialogue is alright; being able to choose what you want to say always adds more interaction with the game which isn't bad.

Not really. Sephiroth was as bad as Ultimecia and Necron. He had almost no effect on the game at all besides the flash backs that tormented Cloud throughout. I'll admit it isn't exactly like that because you know that Sephiroth is the bad guy, but he wasn't entirely definite. He made a meteor. Big whoop. The real bad guys were Shinra I'd say. Hojo being pretty high up there for being a lot of the cause of the events. A great example of a definite villain would be Kefka from FFVI. You know he's the bad guy almost from the start and eventually turns the world upside down in his favor.

I did that as well. I absolutely hated doing it though, but I felt I had too (didn't want to play this bullsh*t again). Takes all the fun out of exploring for yourself. Though maybe I will try had to forget about the endings first.

What I meant was more of a "rival V antagonist" idea, with Seifer being the subordinate. Purple-haired dude seems-to me- to be a "right hand man". That being said, I agree with your comment. Kefka is definitely what I would consider an actual antagonist.

I like the whole concept of multiple endings, it gives us more replay ability. But let's hope it is not like that of FFX-2 which I agree with others was a terrible approach to multiple endings. This is a FF I am most looking forward to especially with the amount of change they have done to the gameplay.

I'll probably only play it through a few times; I'm not too fussed about what endings I get, as I will probably watch them all on Youtube anyway xD
I just hope this mutiple-ending FF will be better than X-2 - I liked X-2, but I look back and dislike the fact the endings weren't that varied.

I don't really know how I feel about multiple endings. I just hope the player doesn't have to do a list of specific things to earn a positive ending. I hated that in X-2. I didn't speak to Yuna as a moogle in the first few minutes and therefore ended up with the bad ending, despite doing a whole load of other things in the game. The game just felt really fickle. :hmph:

If the endings are affected by your decisions and your success in each level (which can be altered if you return) then that's not too bad.

I do hope the endings are varied. As a m o u r has already said, the endings in X-2 were far too similar. The 'Common Ending' appeared no matter what; the 'Bad Ending' appeared before that if you pressed X in a final cutscene but didn't complete a list of tasks; the 'Good Ending' appeared if you pressed X in a final cutscene AND completed those tasks... The 'Perfect Ending' only appeared if you completed everything. :lew:

I am sure you all know this though. :wacky:

You can revisit each and every location or even replay them individually like new game+. So there are no true missables in the game.

The endings are varied from what I have heard.
