Even if you're not sure if your favourite character from XIII is returning in the sequel or not confirmed yet....... which character are you most excited to see?

Most people may disagree with me but I think Hope will be the most different. If the game really is five years later than Hope would be nineteen. No longer crowded with his adolescent feelings, he would probably be a mature young man and I'm excited to find out if he is tough like Lightning or just more rational and able to control his emotions. Either way I want him playable because his skills in battle were awesome as a mage!

Are they even using any of the same main characters in XIII-2 as they did in the original? Most times they don't. =/. If there was to be one to return i'd like to see Vanille or Hope. They were both very immature to me and I think by now they should have grown and become more indepent and not as...annoying.

AND maybe Vanille will STOP running away from everything.

Barthandelus. Good to see he's getting the break he needs and returning as the main character...even if he IS stuck in a Serah disguise. But then, who wants to play as a crusty old Emperor Palpatine impersonator when you can have jailbait? :awesome:

Mmm I hope hope will return though he is not my favourite. I cannot imagine much change in lightening or snow. Same old same old. Just hope it doesn't make a mess like ffx2. Here's hoping.

The only character that really interested me in FFXIII was
Jihl Nabaat, so I'd love for her to make a return somehow even if she did end up getting killed off. A shame she never got the epic boss battle she deserved first!

Well seeing as stop running from everything was part of her character development near the end of the first game I would hope she was a little more mature :P Vanille was my favorite in the first game xD Sure she moaned a lot and ran but in the end she was brave...plus I'm a sucker for peppy girls with secrets. I'd rather not see her in the sequel though.

The only other character I'd hope to appear is baby chocobo. He was the only other character I loved <3

As others stated, I would love to see a Hope or Vanille return. Mainly because Hope was a whiny teen with mommy issues(yes yes, his mom was killed in front of him, but still). so, if he is to return, I'd be interested to see how he returns, especially how he looks as a man. And maybe some Hope x Lightning. :ohoho:

I read somewhere that Vanille's voice actress is returning, but in a very "different experience." She wasn't allowed to reveal anything else about Vanille's role in this game though. I speculate that she will appear in new flashbacks. Or since the game seems to have some parallel dimension/time travel theme, she probably will appear in an alternate timeline. Or the party could have travelled to Oerba in the past where it was still a lively town. Then they get a chance to meet the past versions of vanille and fang? Who knows. A past Oerba trip sounds very interesting. That said, I also want Fang to return.

I also want to see a grown up hope who is less annoying (I didn't think he was that annoying though).

Oh and Sazh! I'm fine if he is not playable, but I wish that he is the pilot for the players' airship. Something like Cid and Brother in FFX.

Im hoping Fang comes back in the game, I dont know what they would do about her apperance but seeing how some of the people like Lebreau,Gadot, etc still look the same I hope Fang doesnt change at all assuming she will still be in.

I am actually looking forward to a game about Serah... We didn't get to see much of her in XIII, and the trailers don't always give an accurate impression, so it's possible she'll be very good. (I'm not sure whether I'll buy the game yet, but I'll certainly look to see what happens. I have too many (incredible) games to play, including FFVI, VII, and the endings of IX, X, and XIII. So...)

Pretty sure Fang and Vanille will return. In Final Fantasy XIII episode I, Lightning set off to find a way to save them. While she knew the others were attending other matters, She set off by herself without nobody knowing. The interesting thing is that both Snow and Lightning want to find a way to save Fang and Vanille. Both Snow and Lightning are missing during the events of XIII-2. Lightning believes where she was following is the path to Vanille and Fang. She also has the feeling the fight is far from over. So she is more or less dead to everyone except Serah. Serah decides to become a school teacher, but later calls for Lightning who has mysteriously disappeared. So she sets off to find her sister and meets Noel in her dreams and then in person later on. Lightning and Snow are searching for Vanille and Fang. Well, we know Lightning is... but Snow is nowhere to be found. Hope was recently revealed. Hope left with a soldier at the beginning of Episode I to see his Father, who is alive. So what I am thinking is that Vanille and Fang are possibly... separated? Like maybe they are out of crystal stasis. Just speculation. Just the fact that Both Lightning and Snow want to find a way to save them could mean each are following their own paths. :hmmm:

I haven't finished XIII, but I hope Sazh and Dajh. Sazh is the only good character in that game. I wanted to keep playing (got to chapter 6) to see how things turned out for him. Didn't care about anyone else. Lightning is just too depressing and Hope was a wuss.

I hope your right on that, I know lighting was trying to find a way to save them but I was sure that Snow and Serah was supposed to be getting that wedding on and now he's not doing it and he's no where to be found. I heard they was seperated too but because of Ragarnok going bersek on Fang I think its a good possibility that Fang might have broke free (leaving vanille) and she's running around going bersek with that thing (possessed). And Vanille may be trying to find a way to save fang and lighting's search comes down to finding vanille and helping her save fang.

I think that cause in one of the trailers lighting riding odin is shown fighting Bahamut in what appears to be a boss battle. So maybe she has no control over that thing or something ?_? I also wonder what Sazh will do in this one?

^nah I doubt so. There's little evidence that fang has gone mad. At episode i as we know it, fang and vanille are last seen peacefully telepathically talking in crystal stasis. If I am not wrong, they said the chaos bahamut is a different one. Probably something to do with the purple guy.

Interesting theory though.

Yeah its just a little theory I had and it seemed like it made sense to me  Chaos Bahamut??? so I take it that was the one in the trailer and nothing big on info with the purple guy yet? If thats true I really wanna know why he stole Fangs Eidolon, nobody should be using bahamut but her, and if bahamut really wants to be all evil and become chaos well Fang should be the one controlling it -_- Unless Ragarnok becomes an Eidolon xD

Sazh was so lovable. He should come back, but so far, nay on that confirmation.

Other than that, I'll take Fang. She had some attitude, dammit.

Ugh I really didn't like any characters in XIII but if i had to pick one to be the best returning character I'd probably say lightning. She was a dumb moody bitch with no personality but at least her lack of personality was better than all the other characters personalities put together. so yeah, even though I don't like her she's the one I am happiest to see in the new game.

Well then Im glad your excited since your character is 100% in the game I still might not be getting fang in and if she is in theirs a chance she wont be playable, Im going to stab myself repeatedly If I have to go through the game and not be able to play with my all time favorite FF character, Im going to be pissed if she's an npc or not in at all.

I want to see Sazh make an epic return. I loved him as a character but after I could choose my battle team I never used him. Here's hoping he returns as a playable character.
