Ok so I'm a dog lover.

What dog breeds would you like to own, or just absolutely love if you are not able to own a dog? You can also name mixes just say what mixes you like. And it can be listing one dog breed and saying the second can be whatever ^_^

Ones that I love: (For the record, I love pretty much every dog breed, but these are just my favorites)

Poodle: I used to think these were just silly brainless vanity dogs. But then I learned a little more about them, hung out with one, and found out how smart and gentle they are. And best part of all, they dont shed :D I want to own the standard or miniture size one day.

Bearded Collie: I own one of these right now and I love him. His name is Guiness and he is very sweet and very cute. My parents have a big yard to run around in which his breed definently needs. We also get his hair clipped, which I hate because he is so cute with it long, but since his coat would be high maintanence I guess it's fine.

Pit Bull: I would never own one. But when they are not raised to be fighters they are pretty sweet dogs. when I did a clinical at a nursing home, people would bring them in for animal assisted therapy and they would just cuddle up to the elderly people and let them pet them ^_^ They never showed any signs of agression and were very gentle around the clients.

German Shepards: I love the way they look and how protective they are with their families. Definently a loyal dog. I saw a few police training videos where they would give the dog the attack command, the dog would attack an armored person, and when a command for the dog to stop attacking was given, they would stop and walk back over to the training officer. I would only get one of these types of dogs if I had a big enough house and yard.

Newfoundlands: A large cute cuddly breed. They do not live long so I would not personally own one.

Pugs: Pugs are just too cute XD My neighbor has one and I love watching them walk it down the road.

I totally like being different and I'd actually want to have some greyhounds around the house if I ever find the time and money to get them. I know they're fast, but I've also heard that they're rather tame, which seems unexpected as the perception is that this breed is very hyper. I've done some research and it's popped up that greyhounds are actually very mild dogs.

I'd probably go for huge dogs like Great Danes just for the shock factor of seeing friends getting jumped by one. :wacky:
I've had enough experience with golden retrievers and collies, hence the wanting of different breeds.

I've always wanted a husky. Their coats are just absolutely gorgeous. Their eyes are beautiful and their personalities can be--so I've heard--hilarious. Although I know they're a bit tougher to train, I'm sure with the right kind of handling, they could be an amazing breed to own.

Right now we have two Bernese Mountain Dogs. These guys are downright awesome, very loyal, smart and cuddly. If you don't train them right, however, they can get out of control. The older one, Bear, is a good boy and very smart. He came to us with a little bit of training and that seems to have stuck. His daughter, Sophie, is out of control sometimes when she gets hyper. She is a doll, though; a downright sweetheart.

We've had a lot of other breeds like Keeshond, Chow Chow and Great Pyranees. The Keeshond and the Pyranees were both very even tempered and great dogs. The Chow Chow's, on the other hand, can be a handful if you're not willing to/don't train them.

Labradors and American Cocker Spaniels, because aside from their daily walk and a weekly bath, they don't require anything other than love and affection which is just what I need seeing as I'm looking for a job right now. They're easily trained too, which is a plus.

However, if I could predict some free time, I'd absolutely choose a more difficult breed. Greyhound, Staffordshire Bull Terrier. I'd like that feeling that I've achieved something, even if it is just training a mutt. :lew:

Here are some videos of some of the dog breeds I mentioned and some others have already mentioned. This series has a lot of good information for people wanting to adopt a dog. Unfortunantly they do not have every breed yet.

I have a dog and he is a mix of a boxer and....something else. I really don't know from which breeds he comes from. He is very affectionate and he obey like a good dog does. He's 13 years old and I found him in the forest when I was a teenager.

When he dies (hopefully not soon) I would like to get a Greyhound or a Golden Retriever. They are usually both intelligent types of dogs, they are calm, you can train them easily and they have a good temperament in general. Those are the main reasons why i would get one of those two breeds.

For an unknown reason, I don't really like small dogs like Chiwawas. I find them really annoying when they bark and they are not really convincing.

You can sometimes adopt greyhounds who have retired from racing, my friend has one and I would recommend that because they're really sweet ^_^

I had a Shetland sheepdog as a kid who was really beautiful, and i would definitely have one again. Or also a terrier, like a Scottish terrier or something. I like little dogs with mustaches :D

Aw, no one is mention huskies. :sad3:

My favourite (domestic) breed of dog is the Siberian Husky. They are just such beautiful and really cool looking dogs, I can't understand someone disliking this breed of dog. Really. :|

Golden Retrievers are also great dogs, intelligent and friendly, and German Shepherds being intelligent and loyal, and Collies are another pretty breed of dog, it is the Lassie dog breed. xD

But I don't really like most small dogs very much, unless of course it is a puppy of one of the aforementioned dog breeds in particular. <3

I've managed to own multiple of my Favourite Dog Breeds.

At the moment I own Two Pomeranians, They're so beautiful so much fun and have the funniest personalities, I recommend them to anyone :D

I've also owned a German Shepherd called Fritz, but we had to give him away because he was too large for the house and my dad hated him (coz he barked way too much) but he's with a good home now and the lady has a huge yard for him :D
But I do love that breed, so loyal :D

Breeds I want to own are:

Pugs, They're just so fat and wrinkly and cute :D Almost bought one but got my second pomeranian instead

Irish Wolf Hounds, I just love how huge and wolf like they are, but I don't think I could handle another big dog just yet.

Edit: OMG i nearly forgot one of my most favs, BULL DOGS!! I love their disgusting faces :D they're so ugly yet so cute!!!

When I get my condo someday after I graduate I'm going to get a Westie (Westhighland White Terrier) puppy. Ohhh the cuteness, it almost hurts my teeth just looking at them. My friend at work has a yorkie and I thought that was what I wanted for awhile, but I saw the Cesar dog commercial and I was in love. Someday. :gonk: If I get a girl I'm going to name her Bijou and If I get a boy, I'm going to name him Bogie.

Labrador Retrievers.

My family and I had one for almost 13 years before she sadly had to be put down, and she was the most wonderful dog I've ever known. Very intelligent and gentle and never as much as growled at a human being her entire life. Dogs are a lot of work and I'm not sure I ever want to own one myself again, but if I was to get one, it would be a lab.

We had two Westies, and my Grandma had a Westie, and they were the most gorgeous and lovable little dogs ever. All three of them had totally different personalities, but they were all easy going and very adorable dogs. They lived for a long time too. One of ours was 17 when he died, and my Grandmas dog was nearly 18 when he died.

Dogs, and puppies especially, do to me what babies do to grown women; I just turn to mush and start "aww-ing" at them.

If I was to ever get a dog, I'd either get two Westies, although I think I'd constantly compare them to my childhood dogs. I'd love to get a Golden Labrador, they're always the sweetest dogs and I'd love to raise a bigger breed. I'd love a Siberian Husky, but they're supposed to be difficult dogs to train, and they can be nasty. Same with Alsations.

Corgi: I LOVE corgi's. They are so CUTE and ADORABLE! :ari: Did you know that they are used as hunting dogs!? I had NO idea, because they are SO little and don't seem the type at all! I will either get a Corgi or a Huskorgi. Yes, a Husky x Corgi. They are like little tiny huskies and they look absolutely adorable! I'm SQUEEing just thinking about them!

Dalmations are infamous for being assholes. There's something in their breed that makes them bully-ish. So when you mix a dalmation with a pit bull, you have a real hellhound. A friend of mine has exactly that, and he can't have him around pretty much anybody.

Oh! Pugs. We have a pug :ari: They are so friendly and hyper but they can also be real lazy too! The only issue anyone would have with them is that they snort a lot... But they are just SO cute in a very ugly way and I love them!

Pugs: Pugs are just too cute XD My neighbor has one and I love watching them walk it down the road.

I adore Pugs, but everyone around me thinks they're ugly. I think the look so cute. XD They always look like they're smiling. <3
I would love to have one but apparently they have a lot of health/breathing problems due to their pushed in snout.

When we have our own place we would love to have at least one Husky. If Steve gets his way we'll end up with two. I would love to have a couple of Pomeranians as well.
They're just too cute. XD Such cute fuzzballs. <3

I love pugs, labradors and Rottweilers. I grew up with a wonderful Rottweiler named Max who was a loyal and gentle companion, even when I was a small child. I know a lot of people fear them but my personal experience with them is one of a lovely temperament. I currently own a Jack Russell: an unusual choice for me. Prior to adopting mine I thought them all to be annoying, disobedient "yippy-dogs" - but he's become the most amazing dog I've ever owned.
I absolutely love "giant" dog breeds like St. Bernards and Great Danes as well.

ive gone off pugs they are everywhere at the moment and id hate to feel like i was walking around with a fashion accessory lol.

Ive never really been a dog person though ive had my arm twisted and we are getting a Hungarian Puli at the end of May. I chose the breed as I was very reluctant to get one, seeing as it will be me doing the hard work with tom working all hours.

Providing all goes well with Puli, TOm said when we move he wants to get another dog, but a bigger one. We saw a loooad at crufts the weekend, I fell in love with the newfoundlands - they are like bears they are well top

Tom likes those as well, he said he'd like a dalmation. I cant say im fussed either way on a dal, so we probably wont get one of those haha

other oens that have come up are great dane, but i couldnt handle the drooling (though im pretty sure newfys drool as well. booo)

Or an Irish Wolfhoud which Id convinced him til we met one at crufts and it was shy xD

This is what we are getting
