Since this is FFF and most of you are into poking through holes in whatever anyone has to say (that's not a bad thing ok don't worry), I'm just gonna go ahead and clarify that the title is, indeed, a blanket statement.

Moving on, the title is pretty self-explanatory. I personally don't hate Vanille, which is why I'd like to make a thread all about her awesome, but haters don't stop reading.

Even if you hate this chipper ginger, what would you say are the greatest things about her? And even if you love her, what is one thing you absolutely cannot stand?
 
I actually kind of really like Vanille's story. I think the thing that gets most people off is the insanely cheerful attitude she displays throughout the story, her voice, and her accent. I think that's pretty much it. If you look into her background, I think people would agree that it's pretty interesting.

Honestly, the only thing that would've tipped me off that Vanille was not originally from Cocoon was her clothing, but when I finally realized that aspect of her character, I started to get more interested in what exactly she was doing in the storyline.

Vanille is Hot! she is the better healer in the team and she combines well with Fang COM/SAB, COM/RAV,SEN/MED they have the goods.....1 thing l hate about Vanille :hmmm::

And also, I agree that she's the best healer. She's even got a weapon that enhances cure, it's fucken awesome

Yeah its like she is meant to be the healer.......given her weapon abilities.
I thinks her moaning is good, its just sounds wierd when you off over there belting the shit outta some monster and Vanille is making odd not usually found in battle noises lol

I sometimes fear that my roommate is gonna think I'm watching porn due to Vanille's sounds. What is your usual party? Mine is Lightning, Hope, Vanille. I'm only asking because I wonder if you've allowed anyone else to be the healer and compared them to her to see who truly is the best. I've only ever really used her.

I used The kid......Hope for awhile after the forest part with Lightning.....and when I got to pulse for the change of team sorta thing......but Hope uses Boomerangs and thats a little bit to close to home lol, She is the archetype healer l use normally like Rikku or Selphie, so why change a good thing?

I had a feeling that Vanille was going to be my favorite character before I got the game. While, she didn't end up being my favorite (Fang is my favorite) I still like her just the same. Sadly, I don't use her too much. I tend to stick with Lightning/Fang/Hope. However, I want to eventually try switching Snow and Vanille in for Fang and Hope.

I like just about everything about Vanille, and while I don't hate the voice acting for her, the excessive noises are, well...excessive. But, I've been able to over look that and just enjoy the game. So either way, I can't complain about Vanille at all.
 
Vanille is just another one of those kiddies in FF games............

Me? I've got nothing against kiddies..........like Vivi and Gau they are among my favourite FF characters..........

but Vanille to me is the worst...........

Without her voice she definately is a decent character..........but I wouldn't really blame vanille...............I'd blame the voice actor of her whoever it is......

In the japanese version she probably isn't as much annoying as she is in this one.........still the cheerful girl but more like Rikku in X who is at leas decent...........

It drove me up the wall, the inconsistencies in her accent were awful, though I don't blame Georgia Van Cuylenburg for that, I blame whoever was overseeing the voice acting since it's their job to direct the voice actor. The main reason for disliking her was the overly cheerful attitude, I can grasp her personality is meant to be "sugar and rainbows" but sometimes it was unnecessary such as went

and just acted towards Hope like it never happened. I used Hope though, because he's the best healer. :dave:

I lost all hope really when they were all branded and her mark was on the arse cheek.
 
Vanille's part in the story exceeded my initial expectations of her when I first saw her in the early trailers. Here's your typical Yuffie and Selphie-like character for the game that *gasp* actually plays a crucial role in the story. At first I kept telling to myself that I would despise Vanille until the end. And for a while, that was true. Her personality (though offering an interesting contrast to her companions around her) didn't click with me. I just found her to be annoying. Her voice irritated me frequently, as did her over-exaggerated orgasm-like cries of exclaimation in both battles and outside of battles.

But at
Chapter 8
, once it is revealed what Vanille's importance is in the story, I finally took a rather different opinion of her. It was a pleasant surprise to see that all this
occurred as a result of a chain of events starting from Vanille's and Fang's awakening
. I was actually impressed with the
despairing state she was in in Nautilus when Sazh confronted her
. This was the side of this cheerful and hyper character that hadn't been seen before, and to me, it offered a new dimension to her character. We could actually care about her from that moment on.
 
Bah I did not hate Vanille. I actually liked her. I know she was a little childish compared to the others and she moaned in battle like she was having an orgasm. But like do you really have to moan that loud when you are casting spells? That whole thing made me :ffs: I like Vanille's design. Actually Vanille is my desktop background currently. Like Ryan said about what happened before they got branded, Vanille tried to make Hope forget about it right away. Hope just could not and he wanted revenge. What i find really stupid about Vanille is her weird sayings. Such as "balls and sunshine" The sheep scene was beyond fucking weird I must say. That wa sprobably the most fucked up thing and plus it was Vanille doing it so you know :wacky:

The thing I really liked was her weapon. I thought it was pretty unique even though I didnt realy have her in commando role at all. That being said, I do not hate Vanille though she isnt one of my favorite characters either because of the moaning and such. You can say she kind of had a "joke" role in the game.. Until chapter VIII of course.
 
I actually really liked Vanille. I typically like the cheery bouncy girls in FF games. And I appreciated that Vanille had a well developed story. She was one of my favorite characters and I had her in my party often.

The one thing I didn't like was her voice actor. Her accent sounded fake and I think they could have done a better job.

The only time i didn't mind vanille is when she felt guily over dajh...........(you should know the story if you played it).........

I really didn't mind her at all,even her voice which I hate didn't bother me.........at that point in the game

I woulda rather seen the voice actor for Rikku take her place........I think she'd perfectly suit it.

Without the moans obviously......

I loved Vanille actually. In every FF game there's always a happy go lucky character. Vanille, I have to say has the best backstory of all of them. I also like how she's cute with a little bit of darkness in her. She can lie and make stuff up. She gets scared, she has emotion. I love everything about her. Even her orgasms :tehe:

I like how vanille tells the story like Tidus does in FFX from her perspective somtimes.
I also think there is a reason why she is the last person scene on opening FMV.......staring of into the distance on pulse

I have no idea what the reason is though just that there is 1 lol

Let me just say that I don't hate Vanille. I just didn't like her the second she opened her mouth. Square could've done much better with her voice actress because I got so sick of the moaning, groaning, and cheesy climaxes that I ended up muting the TV when I battled with her...which is a shame because I thought she was a good battler and I thought she had some pretty decent skills. I also loved her design as I thought she was pretty in a "cute" sort of way....although the constant over-the-top cheeriness got on my nerves after awhile, because after all that she had been through, I'd have expected her to be an emotional train wreck, but she wasn't phased, apparently :monster:

However, I also realize that the game wouldn't have been possible without her. What she ended up doing at the end of the game made her a commendable character. There were other characters that irritated me more than Vanille did in FFXIII :gasp: like Snow.
