Hangzhou, Zhejiang CHINA —
An unidentified flying object forced an airport in a major Chinese city to shut down operations for an hour, various reports said.

According to state media outlet China Daily, the incident happened at Hangzhou's Xiaoshan Airport on July 7, when the UFO was spotted around 8:30 p.m. According to the report, the object did not show up on radar.

All inbound and outbound flights were grounded from 8:45 p.m. to 9:41 p.m., and up to 2,000 passengers were affected, according to the China Daily.

WHAT THE BLIMEY FUKC :starwars:

I love UFO shit, this is pretty cool if you ask me. It just supports my idea that there is intelligent life outside of earth.

It looks like it might have broken off the tail or something at around 0:30 seconds. Either that or . . . it broke a barrier and started traveling at the speed of light.

It could be:

(a) A classified military project
(b) some sort of newly released ballistic missile
(c) a UFO that's actually alien technology/spacecraft
(d) no idea

Either way that music plus the slowdown of the footage itself made for a very relaxing video.

Hmm, 'Tis rather interesting. :hmmm:

It's hard to make out of it but it's definitely something strange :hmmm:

I'm very curious as to what exactly it was :hmmm: Whoever shot the video is a genius xD They still dunno what it is huh? Well, it could be a UFO though like I said, hard to make out.

I wonder where it went....

I wanna meet these aliens already :mokken:

wow how awesome is it that that guy just happened to have his camcorder or whatever at the ready.
I dont put aside the fact that there may be life out side our world but all i see is a light in the sky making some funky shapes.
Tbh unless i see this stuff for myself (which i never have) then i label it fake. Doesnt matter how many witenesses there are/were.

Yeah, same here. You can say that there's life outside of earth and whatnot but until I meet these things I don't believe one word of it. :mokken:

I want proof of it :rage:

For all we know that video could'a been like a star or something :hmmm:

idunno just saying.

This is a pretty wacky video.

Anyway, I don't find it unfathomable that there's absolutely no other intelligent life in the entire universe. Part of me thinks that that would be a ridiculous thing to believe. Even so, I'm highly doubtful that this has anything to do with aliens. It would just be too extraordinary. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that it was just some kind of satellite or meteor or something.

Also: was the psychedelic music really necessary? Without the music, it'd just be footage of some crazy thing gliding through the sky. With the music, it's OMG ALIENS!!!

As much as I would like to believe so, I seriously doubt that was a UFO at all. I'm sure there are quite a few sensible explanations, from possibly long-ranged weaponry to unusual weather conditions. Just because something in the sky looks bizarre, there has to be something less out-of-this-world to explain it.

I do believe that there is life elsewhere out there in the universe. With millions of galaxies (each with billions of stars) in this vast, expansive universe - there's no way that we're the only planet habiting life.

I don't believe though, that there are aliens watching us and flying over our skies. To start off with, they must have done a really good (though unrealistic) job of transporting themselves across the vastness of space like that without taking unbelievable lengths of time (while adhering to the theory that objects with mass cannot really get to the speed of light).

Of course someone took out their camera to tape this. It's freaky as hell. Plus, it's in China--odds are SOMEONE has a camera.

And yes, it broke the sound barrier. Which is fkucing scary. :mokken:

God, I just got over the fourth kind *shiver*

They always have a camera though, its just too convenient. Even if you have a video camera on your fone i just dont buy it. Personally if i seen that i wouldnt bother recording it as id know it was just a plane...i mean id be too facinated.
Apparently it broke the sound barrier :wacky:
I just cant belive anything like this unless i see it myself and i never have /scully

Lol, I get where you're comin' from. But the LA times and China have confirmed they have no idea what the hell this thing was. The Chinese airport always reported to news that the object never showed up on radars. Wonder how the hell THAT happened.

Also, could this be moved from Spam? It's a pretty decent thread.

It's not in Spam, it's in Costa del Sol, where post count is enabled and one-liners aren't allowed. :lew: But I agree, there has been decent responses and there is discussion (non-spammy) going on right now, so it's in the right place. :ryan:

I didn't watch the video, but I've seen way too many of these supposed UFO encounters in my time, so I know what it's about. Most of them end up being odd coincidences. And if you believe that they really were UFO's around, then it was inconclusive as to what they actually were. But as Lew stated already, I can't believe that this is an actual UFO until I have some sort of proof (even if I didn't see it with my eyes). And as he also stated, it's always an odd "coincidence" that a person just so happens to have a camera pointed in the sky when it happens. :lew: Maybe there was a UFO, maybe not. But I'll never know for sure, so I won't think aliens are coming to invade anytime soon.

I believe there are other lifeforms from other planets. But much like us, probably don't have the intellect or technology developed to explore another planet, due to many factors that involve space travel. And I believe that if alien lifeforms are to appear on our planet, it will happen long after we're gone, hence the reason I never think much about it. :lew:

Like Laguna said, I'm also pretty skeptical about the guy having his camera right when it happened - but then again, someone could just happen to look out the window, see something like that, quickly grab a camera, then start shooting. Sooooo, yeah. As for it being a meteor, do meteors break the sound barrier like that? (・_・)?

I'm not leaving the question that its made up out of the many possibilities either.

I like thinking that there are other beings visiting the planet, though. I can't say that I completely agree that this take is 100% real, but yes, it is a UFO. Nobody knows what it is, it's unidentified, it's definitely flying, and it is some sort of object. Whether or not it's a meteor, an alien, top secret military tests, or just a completely fabricated shot is a different story.

It's an unidentified flying object, therefore a UFO, no? Doesn't mean it's an alien, it's just an unidentified flying object.

Probably a meteor.

Unlike the Tunguska object:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tunguska_event

that we all know was a alien starship whose fusion engine exploded.
rotfl

I was thinking along the lines of a meteor, too. It looks as though it could have been one, that just happened to be streamlining really close to China skies. I highly doubt it is a UFO, as I am just not sure they exist.

I could be wrong, though.

To be fair, I keep my camcorder near my window so it's at the ready. I get alot of foxes and hedgehogs and shit in my garden, so like to catch them. xD

As for the "UFO" .... meh. Whenever I see a UFO sighting, I take just as I would a ghost siting. There are just so many hoaxes or reasonably explained responses to them, that it is really tough to actually believe any are real.

To be fair, there's a lot of tail out there behind it already, so it stands to reason it had been in the sky for a while. So s/he could have seen it, thought "WTF?", run inside and grabbed the camera.

As an expert on atmospheric phenomena, which I am not, it looks to me like something entering the Earth's atmosphere from space, possibly a meteorite, or a non-functional satellite. They say they don't know what specifically it is, but does that mean they don't know what it could probably be?

I don't believe there is life on other planets, personally. The astronomical odds that had to be beaten to get life to this planet are one thing. For that to happen twice? On two distinct planets? I doubt it.

It's probably just a US spy plane seeing where would be a good place to nuke China. I don't think aliens would bother flying to earth just to confuse people.

I gotta say, it's a lot different and unusual than your typical 'UFO sighting' which is really just a blurred out frisbee being tossed around. :mokken:

I like to believe in aliens and call me naive, but maybe this was something akin to that.. maybe a fallen star ship getting too close to Earth, or lost martians on a family vacation. :monster:

I don't wanna say that it's just US/Russia spy craft... that's too easy. And cynical.
