Wondering if a thread posting wonderfully designed, or interesting Album Cover art would go down well on this forum. So if you guys could just post up any interesting pictures of album art and any comments about them that would be fantastic!

My first post....

Genesis-Nursery_Cryme-Front.jpg

Genesis - Nursery Cryme...

Quite an ace album cover if you ask me... A young victorian girl playing croquet with heads doesn't fail to amaze me, and realy sets the album up for the story on the album.

I really like the Dookie one, can't think of any others aside from that marilyn manson one where he has boobs which is just plain freaky

I just like looking at this one lol

Image is quite small, but I found this one quite interesting.

I drew this scene for my art class back in high school and when I saw this thread, immediately thought of that one. xD I like album covers that somewhat tells a story (or at least trying to imply something) and not just your typical eye candy image.

I think this one is very memorable.
The art itself is a little odd but meh.

There are another two that stand out for me. They are Dark Side of the Moon, which is iconic.
And Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts club band, with its line-up with all of those famous people.

Do singles count? I always found Muse's single covers very attractive...

They just stand out because they're different. =]

Metallica's Master of Puppets. Hands from heaven pulling strings of tomstones of young fallen soldiers killed in war.

Rage Against the Machine's debut album. Real photograph of a Monk burning himself in protest.

But for stunning album art you can't get much better than the mighty Iron Maiden. This cover sets the mood of the album very well.

As does this one. Check out all the references to past albums (and of the band memebers themselves) it has dotted over the place, and even the TARDIS is in there somewhere.

I have tons more to post up eventually...

JONAS BROTHERS: ALITTLE BIT LONGER-

I dont know what it is but I think this album is sweet looking. I mean if you notice the names of the songs on the buildings. I mean is that creative or what?.

This album cover always strikes me as a really iconic one.

well... Kurt was one pretty twisted dude, so that's not all that surprising :P

I always liked the art style used by Franz Ferdinand. I love the almbum cover of You Could Have It So Much Better.

It doesn't look to be a lot, and really it isn't. But the story to go with the cover makes it really interesting to me. The setting is Cydonia (a province or something of Mars), and the four men are the four horsemen of the apocalypse. On the table are their four horses, and the whole thing is supposed to signify that the horsemen have outgrown their steeds.

I didn't forget I just didn't want to post it...especially when I know people like you would do it for me. :monster:

I like this one as well:

Even though it's simplistic I like the red focal points and the black and white contrast is great. ^_^

I like the cover for Badly Drawn Boy's Hour of the Bewilderbeast album:

I like the kind of messy eclectic style about it, it suits his songs well in my opinion because of the acoustic experimental theme of the album.

Unfortunately I've lost my copy of it. D:

It's not an album, but it's the cover of a concert/DVD The Song Remains the Same .. Led Zeppelin(the remastered version, I believe the version of the DVD not remastered, the cover is a Gibson LP engraved in dirt)

I like the style of Oingo Boingo's cover artwork.

Hey, this is pretty good! wow

Here's one of Michael Jackson. The most interesting cover I've ever seen. I could look at it for hours...

Oh yes, thank you for posting these. The Muse singles are just beautiful pieces of work and make them stand out indeed. The colours and images are just sexcellent. you all know how much of a mad Muse fan i am lol *tattoo soon!*

Im throwing in their Hullabaloo album cover. Its simple, but dark and mysterious to me.

Life Processes, by ¡Forward, Russia! I don't know what it is about it, but it really catches my eye every time.

Muse's Dead Star / In Your World EP. Another one that is just amazing to look at.

placebo-meds-big.jpg

Meds by Placebo. I like the how artistic this one is, and I'd really like to know how it was shot.
