Which boss made you frustrate so much because he wipes out your party just like a rag?

Mine is

Ruby Weapon (FFVII)
This one is just nasty. His claw attack can alone can wipe your entire party out. He can also sink one of your party members in the sand, making them unable to be revive or fight. His HP is also extremely high that you might want to take your dinner so you won't be disturb.
Omega Weapon (FFVIII)
Unless you packed yourself with a lot of Holy War and Hero, this boss is close to impossible. There are other tactics to beat but it will take a lot of turn and you might get killed before he does.

Ozma (FFIX)
One advantage that he have from you - speed. Most of his spells can wipe you out, so it's a matter of luck if he cast the weakest ones.

There are many more those guys came at the top for me.

Carry Armour from VII has always been the bane of my playthroughs...I hate it when it picks up one of your characters and swings them around, not to mention the massive Lapis beam attack that does over 1600HP damage!

I've faced alot of evil in my day. I've defeated Ozma, but the one dang monster that got me mad was...

Necron!
Necron and his cross thing he does got me so mad, even ozma was easier than this guy! Once I finally beat him, that was a nice feeling.

Necron, I dont like you. I hope your Christmas is horrible :)

^ I agree with you about Necron. Some of the games (VI, VII, VIII) had exploitable battle systems which made it so that bosses, optional or not, could be made easy. Other FF's (X) were simply easy.

But IX didn't have any "ideal customizations" that wildly enhanced your battle abilities, meaning you had no choice but to grind through some of its biggest and baddest bosses.

Enter Necron, the representation of death and all that is frustrating.

Off topic: I think there's a preexisting thread for this.

Gizmaluke from FFIX.

That asshole, I swear.. and it's during what is probably the biggest difficulty spike in the game. Beat IX countless times, and every time, I die at least once. There simply is no strategy- you just have to cast slow, spam thunder, and hope you get lucky.

Or throw a tent on it and get the poison bite

Anyway necron is by far the worse.... It pretty much luck beating him.... That grand cross move can troll you sooo badly :hmph:

This site fucks me off with losing my posts all the damn time

Anyway, Emerald weapon, before i realised it was a peice of piss with mime KOTR and the materia trick. I beat it the hard way and it took me AGES. Ruby gave me a hard time too, but not to that extent. I was just being a bit dim when it came to Ruby

Im counting Xaldin in here, just because i was ready for commiting a murder trying to beat this guy. I wanted to throw my tv out of the window and start a riot.

Dark Bahamut didnt give me an easy ride either, I only had stone proof on wakka and yuna so Id get Auron to last as long as I could make him last, switching him with the other chars who had no stone proofs for as long as I could while i spammed attack reels with Wakka, and used Aeons as sheilds. I died so so many times, i think it took me a few months to finally best that guy.

I had similar ordeals with Ozma, until i discovered return magic and shadow/holy absorby armour so now I can take him down pretty much first go, but hes another one that took a long time to beat first time trying him

I dont like to make things easy for myself.

underwater and desert weapon on 7 are the worst. i've never beaten them, but i've been painfully close to the underwater one. i just can't be bothered going through it over and over again to work out a strategy.
i'm also not a fan of the dark aeons on 10. every single boss on the game is too easy, apart from them. they're the only reason the break hp/damage limit was included because you'd never be able to beat them without it. having said that, i recently did valefor and found him very very easy with my usual tactic :hmmm:

I've never heard of the tent thing :D

Never had a problem with Kuja or Necron. A lot of people have, though. I guess it's because my guys are usually packing hard by the end of the game. If you manage to get auto-regen for your characters, you can pretty much replace a healer altogether with another hard hitter.

Emerald Weapon FFVII- Still havent beaten it ;_; Too hard

Ruby Weapon FFVII- Impossible! :rage:

Yiazmat FFXII and FFX- Seriously... WTF!? You need to be like lvl 1 bagillion to fight these guys! STILL haven't beaten them!

Yunalesca FFX- When I first faced her she made me want to puch babies :(

Seymour FFX (EVERY boss fight except for the one inside Sin, that one was stupid easy...)- He's just frustrating all around :damon: The last time you fight him is SUPER easy though

Every Super Boss you can fight in the monster arena in FFX- Just... Just fuck that...

Ultima The High Seraph FFXII- Just... UGH! :damon:

HP Absorb attached to Knights of the Round

Mime

Have only one character alive, and have the 'Underwater' materia.

Cast KOTR, then spam mime.

Battle stategy: just keep pressing 'X'

*victory theme plays*

(also, the air tame attack does more damage according to the amount of materia you have. For example, if you have three materias, it will do 3333> if you have nine, it is game over so keep materia to a dead minimum)

The same can be done for Ruby Weapon, only you also need a ribbon equipped to avoid the status effects.

The problem with that is I CBA to go breed a Gold Choco to go GET KotR... :damon:

What are the rewards for beating the weapons anyway? Just a buch of XP and Gil?

For Emerald Weapon, you get like 60000 exp and the master materias. The master materias contain all the magics for each type. For example, the master command materia will have mug, manipulate, deathblow, etc all in one.

For Ruby Weapon, you get a ton of experiance and a gold chocobo. (ironically, the easiest way to beat it is to get KOTR through a gold chocobo)

I didn't even try Ruby Weapon (FFVII) until I had KoTR and Hades, so it was a cake walk for me.

Omega Weapon (FFVIII) .. OMG. Don't even get me started. I tried that bastard SO MANY TIMES (without Heroes or Holy Wars), and I STILL HAVEN'T BEAT HIM. Ultima Weapon (FFVIII) was kind of a bastard too. I remember dying on him once or twice.

I remember having a tough time with Cagnazzo and the Magus Sisters (FFIV), too. Although that may have been because I was much younger (and before the internet was around for tips and strategies).

OK, SO. The most DIFFICULT FF boss for me EVER was NECRON (FFIX)!!! OMG!!!!!!! THIS. EFFING. BASTARD.
I don't know why I'm the only person in the world who got my ass kicked my Necron. I seriously beat him on my 9th or 10th try only because Zidane (only one alive with like 2 HP) did Grand Lethal. Had it not been for Grand Lethal, I would probably still be stuck on Necron today.

Storyline Bosses: Seymore on Mount Gagazet. I found this one to be so annoying everytime I replayed the game! I always had trouble with this guy.

Optional Bosse: Yiazmat.... WAY TO DAMN LONG TO BEAT THIS ASSHOLE!!!! I swear my first time beating him it must of been like 4-7+ hours! I only beat this guy 2 times ever! and really... was not worth all the time I put into him... really..just way too long of a battle for anything to come out of it. I didn't feel any occomplishment for beating everything I just felt... annoyed that it took so damn long.
