I'm not sure if we're meant to control it somehow or not though. It seems to have a score board at the end, but I can't get to stop them from eating everything.
Is it all show? Or is it interactive?

I think you're meant to shoot them to prevent them from eating up everything. I didn't realise until the scoreboard appeared. I just watched, utterly fascinated, as they consumed my page.
