Ever bought a game and then a week later broke it into pieces because you thought it was crap?

I've had multiple instances where I've bought sports games and they turned out to be utter shit. :mokken:
Madden 08 and 09 and FIFA 08 come into mind. I've broken the 08 CD because it sucked so much because of bugs and whatnot.

And this one isn't really a game I hate, but I bought Metro 2033 and I can't finish it because I'm too scared to go forward with it. :wacky:

When I was a LOT younger I bought Toy Story for the Super Nintendo.
Then, I had a nightmare that my mom would ground me because I didn't like it. I still have it sticking around for some odd reason...
*readies hammer*
Wait...maybe selling this peice of crap would be better...

FFX-2. I played it all the way through and got 100%. I threw it away the next day. It made me wanna hurt someone.

I know there are a few more games but I was younger then and I can't recall now.

yay! an ff10-2 hater:goout:

for me anything to do with kingdom hearts i'm sorry but what they did to final fantasy ugh

Kung Food for the Lynx. I have no idea why I even wanted that game or thought that it could possibly be good.

I didn't buy this game but my brother did. He got Shaq-fu. Seriously, the name itself sounds increddibly stupid. And the game wasn't much better.

We also had Back to the Future for the NES. That was quite a bad game and barely resembled the movie.

I have games that I thought I spent too much money on, and then games I just absolutely hated.

ORPHEN: Scion of Sorcery
For the love of god, no one better pay for this game or waste electricity playing it in your PS2. I don't care if this was one of the first PS2 games made, it was absolute crap. Felt like a damn demo all the time, wtf -__-

BAROQUE

This was purely my fault for picking up. I was enticed by the pretty cover art and the vague RPG label to it. I didn't realize it was a solid dungeon crawler with no linearity to it. Now that might make people sing praises, but I was annoyed so much since story and characters is something I seek in my games, or at least an enjoyable gameplay. A pure dungeon crawler does not make me peachy. I could tell there was an interesting story in the game, but you have to do so many little things to trigger the scenes, in order :ness:

Drakengard
This game did not appeal to me much. The story and scenes were so choppy and had little flow to it. And the whole flying dragon thing did not make me happy at all. It was kewl at first, but I suck with manuevering, and I'm taking so long to finish the mission! Dx

I feel like I should add more games to this list, but that's what I got for now :hmmm:

No way_ FF and Disney is a badass mix! Although they could've made it a tad darker I guess.

Anyways the worst gaming buy for me was Fable 2. I enjoyed the game alot, up until the end// you know, like an hour from the start of the game? f*ckerz..

Darkstone, ps1.

Oh my god, this game is just the worst buy I've ever had. Graphics are the best thing about it probably. MMO style hack and slash game. The quests are just boring and the load times made me wanna order a pizza and eat it while it was 'loading'. The sound was about as bad as the quests and it just made me regret buying the game.

Kill.Switch was a bad buy imo as well. Had great potential. 3rd person shooters are a plus in my book, but the difficulty starting at the 2nd levels was just intense. I could NEVER beat the second level....ugh.

Onimusha for ps2 is all that comes to mind. I heavily review games before buying so im pretty much always happy, but for some reason i remember hating this game.

For me the worst game to buy was Bujingai: the Forsaken City, for PlayStation 2. I only bought this game because Gackt when the main character. Luckily, the game was only $2.00. The voice acting was terrible, the gameplay was choppy. The only good thing about this game, and that you can unlock Gackt in his regular modern day clothing, rather than his warrior clothing that the character normally has.

Mine was Unlimited Saga. Such a huge bag of wank, it was beyond terrible. I got it cause it was SE, big mistake. I traded it in straight away.

Tomr Raider: Angel of Darkness was another. The game was so buggy and luckly I got a refund, as did the other customers who brought it back cause it was so shitty lol.

Final Fantasy X-2: I was expecting it to be similar to FFX, same battle system, good Storyline, and all round awesumnes, but. . . twas not to be, a game of which's suckyness made me cry, i was gutted by this game, as i bought it 3 days after it was released in the UK, so it costed a bomb, and when i played it i was like "WTF, this is shit"

Final fantasy XII: Nuff said

resident Evil 4: i just didn't enjoy this game as much as i have the other RE's, and when i first bought it, i sucked at it, but since purchasing RE5 i have gotten better with the aiming style and what not, and now enjoy it, but my first impression was wanting to frizbee it down the Street.

Final Fantasy XIII is one that springs to mind immediately...I can't believe I paid full price for it, to be honest. Its going to be a very, VERY long time before I replay it - if I ever do - and the trade-in value is so low I may as well keep it. Hrmn. Annoying.

I'm also regretting buying Demon's Souls, although that might be because its too hard for me, so I guess it doesn't really count. XD

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is another one I was expecting to be good which turned out to be nearly unplayable. I don't think I've ever been so BORED. Sandbox games just don't appeal to me.

Legendary, I watched my wife play this, and it was an awful game. It looked cool, but the repeated enemies and the lack of content was appauling especially when those fairy things come at you. What a crock.

Final Fantasy X-2 is the only game I've ever really considered a waste of money. I paid full price for it when it first came out and I completed the main storyline within a few days, I wasn't impressed. The battle system was odd and the 'new' Yuna annoyed me, as did the storyline with Leblanc - she and her little helpers were so annoying.

Oh, and Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness. Part of me really liked it and part of me... didn't. A couple of the bits in the game were ridiculous and, I don't know... I much preferred the 'old' style Tomb Raiders where you basically did that... raided tombs and looked around ancient buildings, not talking to prostitutes in a ghetto in Paris. (I remember laughing like anything at that bit in the game :wacky:)

Let's see:

Well, I also bought Final Fantasy XIII at full price on the day after it came out. FFXIII is by no means a shit game at all and I'm not here to bash it at every waking hour. I actually did enjoy many bits in the game - it was certainly not the worst entry ever. However, it had a LOT of shortcomings. It lacked in the gameplay department. It just felt like half of a FF game to me. That is why I regret purchasing it at full price.

Neverwinter Nights (the first one) comes to my head as well. I got it for a moderately cheap price with Elder Scrolls III a while back, and I'm wondering why I bothered now. I apologise to those who love this game because it undoubtedly received positive reviews, but I just couldn't get into this game. Perhaps I need to play more of it, but it just doesn't seem to appeal to me.

Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness deserves a mentioning too. I mean, what happened there? Did they rush in the development stage? They made some sections really fiddly and annoying with glitches and bugs here and there hampering away the enjoyment. And the setting as well - is Lara even a "tomb raider" anymore? What is she doing in the clubs and back alleys of Paris?

And I do remember this Yu-Gi-Oh game for the GBA. Its name escapes me completely considering I haven't touched it for years. I remember how short it was and how the duelling gameplay goes completely against the traditional conventions of the card game, making it rather WTF-like.

Ah let us see. Playstation I games :hmmm:

Twisted Metal IV: Probably the worst twisted metal game ever. It's developper was changed since II so I guess I know why it was so shit compared to the others. Seriously this is fucking messes up. A boss in every level? When the fuck did that happen in twisted metal? It usually used to be a boss at the beggining middle and then the end boss. But jeez this was so LIKE WHAT THE FUCK. And the story? Sweet tooth takin over Calypso? :ffs:

Twisted Metal I: OH MY GAWD!!! This game was so bad. I understand it was probably the first in the series but after playing twisted metal II this game is fucking garbage honestly. It had no 2 player tournament mode, the videos were so shit and deathmatch was beyond boring... Also you can not even play as Minion?? Maybe if I played them in order I would expect something more...

Twisted Metal Black on ps2: :ffs::ffs::ffs: That is all. Suddenly twisted metal becomes mass murder and Sweet tooth is some crazy as serial killer. Almost every drivers eyes are ripped out. Their mouths full of blood. THE GAME WAS SO FUCKING DARK! But I hated it HATED IT! It was so dark that sometimes you would always miss your fire. I was also disgusted by it and it was nothing like TM. I understand they wanted to make it more violent but TM has always been a T game. Why just go so overboard like that? Worst tm game ever.....

Twisted Metal III: Same shit as IV but with no bosses in every level. It was pretty shit because the developper was the same as IV of course :ffs:

And that is pretty much it. Although this is just a few I got from my head atm. TM II is the best in the series hands down. Owait I have another

TM Head on(Psp): Shit shit and even more shit. It got the T rating back but still it was shit. The online play however I never tried. Dark tooth's design was fucking horrible and Tower tooth was pretty cool....

I'd probably put Oblivion on my list as well. Sure the sheer scope of the world was impressive and there was lots of stuff to explore, but 90% of the time I felt like I was running around in the same underground ruin/dungeon killing the same skeletons/goblins. And don't even get me started on the Oblivion gates -__- To be fair though, I did enjoy the storyline and I managed to clock in around 30 hours before I got bored, but I doubt I could ever finish that shit. It's unusual for me to keep playing a game for so long if I don't enjoy it though. I usually make up my mind within the first hour or 2.

Anyway here are some more:

MTV Celebrity Death Match for the PS2. Okay I didn't exactly expect this to be the greatest beat'em up ever, but I liked the show and I was hoping for something I could get a few laughs out of in multiplayer. It really was beyond terrible in every possible way.

Unlimited Saga. I think SapphireStar described this adequately when she called it a "huge bag of wank"...

The worst game I ever got was that damn Bratz: Rock Angelz game. I was 11 at the time and got as a birthday present. It was great when I played it as a 11 yr. old, but when I got older, I couldn't stand even looking at it. The game was just plain awful and I can't belive I used to enjoy playing it. The voice-acting, the characters...it was just like having a really bad nightmare. I got rid of it and i'm glad I did.

Tales of Legendia.

It's one of those games that shits on an entire series of awesomeness. Your characters are dumber than a box of rocks, the battle system is more of a downgrade than it's most recent predecessors, and is just has outright disgusting graphics.

Tales of the Abyss came out in the same year, few months apart, and was vastly superior.

The only good thing about Legendia is it's music.

edit:

also, Final Fantasy XIII was shit. Mainly because I paid full price for such a crapfest of mediocrity.
