Playstation Valkyrie Profile Series

Its so-so, but thats just my opinion. Its like the first, theres lots to take in and yes it can be a tad bit confusing.

Hrmm...what about for people who have not played the first? Will it be even more confusing or can we catch on quite easily?

Quick question, does the fact that you haven't played Lenneth affect the story and if so, does it have big affect on understanding it? I saw Valkyrie Profile 2 in the shops today and was considering buying it but Lenneth is only on the PSP in Europe - Which I don't have and have no plans to get right now.

I played the 2nd one, and even though it took me a while to finish it. It was well worth it, but I am not sure whether the ending left me sad or an empty space. It was weird though, I am planning on buying VP:L and I must say I wonder how the future of Lenneth changed from VP2:S to VP:L. It does take a little while to level up the character around level 50 and above but it's worth it.

I actually found the first game more confusing as it has different endings depending on difficulty you have. I havent heard much about lenneth in VP2 as of yet. Am finding it a bit difficult at the moment i am at Yggdrasil. Can't wait to get some of the characters like Hrist and Freya. I seem to have hit a dead end at the moment though. Can't defeat Odin :(

You're really not supposed to defeat Odin, unless you are in the Seraphic Gate. I took a little while to beat him.

I've seen a picture of it and thought it is a nice game.....
there is no game in that title in here....sucks! >:(

I bought Valkyrie Profile : Lenneth, for PSP and Valkyrie Profile : Silmeria, for the PS2 on saturday. Was this money well spent? From what I read it's meant to be a great game...But I don't quite understand the battle system yet =/ I've only played a small amount of 2 so far, since my PSP is dead and I can't find the charger D:

Silmeria as a prequal so you don't really need to understand the story of Lenneth to understand the story of Silmeria. I'm playing them both together, and there are no confusions with Silmeria, which I'm further into. I read that it's Lenneth that appeared confusing to some 'cause Silmeria was mentioned, but remained a mystery.

It was certainly money well spent! I've bought both games recently, and love them both. I think Silmeria is a little better; that includes the battle system, which is a little more engaging.

This has fast become one of my favourite games; Silmeria possibly comes 4th, only to Final Fantasy VIII and XII, and Zelda: Wind Waker.

valkyrie profile 2

This game is one of the hardest games i have ever played its even harder then call of duty!!
Well what did you think about this game hard or easy?
:holyshit:

Sort of weird comparing Valkyrie Profile to Call of Duty, but I'd agree that it's more difficult. Call of Duty isn't too challenging unless it's played on the veteran setting.

But yeah, on its own, Valkyrie Profile 2 leans more towards being a hard game than an easy one. I didn't play through the entire thing, though. Didn't care much for it. It probably gets more difficult as you progress (seems to be the way games go generally).

-Threads Merged-

I haven't played Valkyrie Profile 2 yet, and I'm not sure I would. The first one was alright, I liked it enough, but not to the point where I'd buy the 2nd game.

Yeah it is quite hard, I'm only in the third chapter and already I'm at level 43. I think the start is really hard, as you just get used to the battle system and the characters seem underleveled.

It depends where you are up to really, I had to stop and train for awhile so you might have to do the same too.

:eek:uttahere:------------------------------------

I was a little surprised to not see a thread for these Square Enix games. The first one, Valkyrie Profile, came out on the playstation in 1999/2000, while it was released on the psp back in 2006. The second came out on the ps2 in 2006/2007. I just wanted to know, if anyone else have played these great games at any time, and what do you think of them?

---------------------------------

I've played both of these great games, and I don't think I'll ever get tired of them ^_^
I originally played Silmeria first, and when playing Lenneth a lot of things started making sense from the second game.

There was actually a thread already but it was in another section, so I went ahead and merged the two together.

Valkyrie Profile

I've had Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria for a few years now. And I just replayed through it again. I'm currently on Chapter 5,
near the top of Yggdrasill. Odin. Yay.
and I decided to make a thread about it. I really enjoy this game. Its battle system is fantastic, basically transporting you to a field where you can move away from the enemy to heal and closer in to attack etc. You call also split your party into two teams. For example, 3 people on the offensive but one hanging back so that you can switch control to them for healing. Or a two fronted assault.

The music for this game is also fantastic, with a few wonderful tracks, and a fantastic set of antagonists, such as
Odin, Freya, Hrist, and one of the best villains in RPG history, Lezard Valeth.
I've now ordered the first game and I'm wondering whether or not I should get Covenant of the Plume for when I eventually acquire or steal a Nintendo DS.

I want to know what the rest of you think of this fantastic series and is it worth spending my money on the other games.

Omg Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume is a really great game also. It's on the DS and you get to play as the "bad guy" but the characters are so amazing and the music is so cool and the battles are so tactical and unlike anything I've played before.

I really like this one in particular though because it has 3 endings and you can choose to either sacrifice your allies for powerful abilities that give you advantages or not. This game made me look deeper into the series. I haven't gotten to playing other VP games though because of money shortage.

GET COVENANT OF THE PLUME! You will not regret it. And once you've gotten all the ndings you'll still unlock a game mode that features hours and hours of challenging gameplay.
