Perfect - Marianas Trench

This is one of those songs that was on my playlists but wasn't played often, and I didn't pay a lot of attention to. Now... It's one of my favourite songs, and my most played. :wacky: Text and the song meaning is gorgeous. <3 Fuckin' love this band.

Please sing to me, I can see you open up to breathe.
Fast words make it easier on me.
If the point’s to never disappoint you,
Somebody’s gotta tell me what to do.

Just wish you could’ve seen me,
When it used to come so easy.
I’d like to say that it’s easy to stay, but it’s not for me,
‘Cause I’m barely here at all.

Slow down now, the secret is out.
And I swear now, everything is perfect.

What you want, what you need, has been killing me.
Trying to be everything that you want me to be.
I’ll say yes, I’ll undress, I’ve done more for less.
And I will change everything ‘till it’s perfect again.

Coming down, coming around, giving a frown,
To the sound when I hit the ground, I…
Hate the way that I say I should stay,
When I know that I don’t give a fuck about it anyway.

I shake hands and shoot smiles all around.
As I sell my body by the pound.
Sign my name on the dotted line for
‘Would be fate, do not resuscitate.’

Slow down now, the secret is out.
And I swear now, I’ll still make this perfect.

What you want, what you need, has been killing me.
Trying to be everything that you want me to be.
I’ll say yes, I’ll undress, I’ve done more for less.
And I will change everything ‘till it’s perfect again.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I think it’s better this way…
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
This is good in a bad way…

It’s better this way.
I’ll make this perfect again…
I’ll make this perfect again.

What you want, what you need, has been killing me.
And I will change every thing… you want me to be.

I’ll say yes, I’ll undress, I’ve done more for less.
And I will change everything…

What you want, what you need, has been killing me.
Trying to be everything that you want me to be.
(I’ll make this perfect again!)
I’ll say yes, I’ll undress, I’ve done more for less.
And I will change everything ‘till it’s perfect again.

I’ll make this perfect again…

Gold Lion - Yeah Yeah Yeahs

I saw the music video for this last night, and realised just how amazing it is. I've had it on my iTunes for ages and never really rated it. Now, I totally love it. The music is brilliant, especially the drumming, and her voice is simply amazing. Those high notes are epic.

Cage the Elephant- Back Against the Wall

I've heard this a few times on the radio when I channel surf. I always leave it on when I hear it. I like the songs and I like the lyrics...I just don't think the band is unlike anything I've ever heard before. Its a catchy song though :wacky: 8/10. ...and gnomes are in the music video :gasp:

Yiruma - A River Flows In You

This song is just so magical to me, I mean I'm not usually one for piano music, but I LOVE this song, it's very relaxing and I like listening to it while I'm reading a book or two :)

Lolene- Sexy People (Static Revenger Remix)

<3 <3 <3 This song! Its so fun and playful! I've had this on my Ipod for awhile and I never get sick of hearing it. Its a girlie dance at the club sort of song. It has a great beat and the lyrics are really fun:

"Sexy people party with me, Get up off the wall if you're feeling the beat, I know what you want and I've got what you need, So come on all my sexy people party with me.." :yay:

Crowded House- "Don't Dream It's Over"

I had a really good inspirational discussion with someone last night, and now that I'm listening to this song, it actually fits perfectly, and I always get this cool tingling feeling when a song suddenly matches something IRL perfectly (so long as it's a good thing). I've heard many different interpretations of the lyrics, but I think the main gist is one of two people sticking together and hanging on to hope, or encouraging each other to hang on to it, in the face of adversity. I like the newer remake by Sixpence as well, but I prefer this one. 10/10.

Lyrics (even though they're in the video, sometimes it's fun to just read it as a poem :D):

There is freedom within,
There is freedom without,
Try to catch the deluge in a paper cup

There's a battle ahead,
Many battles are lost,
But you'll never see the end of the road
while you're traveling with me

Hey now, hey now
Don't dream it's over
Hey now, hey now
When the world comes in

They come, they come
To build a wall between us
We know they won't win

Now I'm towing my car, there's a hole in the roof
My possessions are causing me suspicion but there's no proof
In the paper today tales of war and of waste
But you turn right over to the T.V. page

Hey now, hey now
Don't dream it's over
Hey now, hey now
When the world comes in

They come, they come
To build a wall between us
We know they won't win

Now I'm walking again to the beat of a drum
And I'm counting the steps to the door of your heart
Only the shadows ahead barely clearing the roof
Get to know the feeling of liberation and release

Hey now, hey now
Don't dream it's over
Hey now, hey now
When the world comes in

They come, they come
To build a wall between us
Don't ever let them win.

Tomandandy - Umbrella (Resident Evil Afterlife Soundtrack)

One of the faster beat songs on the soundtrack. Its more like a quick theme, if that makes sense. Its not as long as the others which are about 4-5 minutes long, but its still as awesome as the others.

Umbrella plays well, when Alice breaks into Umbrella. Its a good song that matched the moment very well, plus its really easy to get attached to it. xD

9.8/10

I would have given it a perfect score if it had been longer to show how awesome it is, but.... :x3:

Taio Cruz - No One

It's not an entirely bad song, but I wouldn't say it's the best I've heard from him and I'm not surprised it didn't get a high position in the charts at the time. I think the rapping's really unnecessary, it's the one part I can't stand. The production's a bit over the top and only his vocals might this song bearable. Not too bad, but just let down by a few things.

7/10

I Am X-Ray - Pretty Rave Girl [click to listen]

I have no idea how old this song is. I found it while roaming a Tumblr blog totally dedicated to songs from the 90's to the early 2000's, but I heard this song, and I got into it because the beat sounded very similar to the one in the song Dot-A. That and its a very fast beat song, I can't play it without moving in some sort of fashion. Reminds me that I haven't been to a rave in a really long time, but this is indeed a cute song .

Avril Lavigne - What The Hell

A great comeback for Avril, I'm so glad she's finally coming back onto the scene after her album had been delayed for over a year. It's such a fun song to sing along to and she's still got the voice to belt out to such an upbeat song. I can see what the song's about and it's quite interesting she's managed to make it out to be like this. It's currently one of my favourite songs and I'm looking forward to seeing what her album has to offer.

10/10

The Offspring- Self Esteem

The Offspring has a nice style. I like how even though lyrically its not a fun song in the sense that the music and beat is. They turn it into a fun song. It's kind-of a funny song in a way but, at the same time sad. I definitely wouldn't be with someone who would use and abuse me HELL no. Crushing an already low self esteem.

great song.

Great band.

9/10

This is what happens when Blind Guardian tries something a bit faster than their usual fare.

Needless to say, it works quite well and became one of my favorite songs of theirs as soon as I heard it. Also, it's quite fun to sing along to =D

(Shame on you if you've only heard of this song because of Robot Unicorn Attack :p)

^I've only heard it on the actual CD :P

Now playing:

Lostprophets- "Lucky You"

This one's on the Spider-man 2 soundtrack, and I absolutely love it. Not only are they one of my favorite bands, but this was one of a handful of songs on the soundtrack that really did a good job of both complementing the movie and being applicable IRL. I can really emphathize for Peter Parker in some ways via this song, which is about failing and having to try to start over again, and I've listened to it in times where I was having trouble, and it helped get me through and helped me vent a little. 10/10, I especially love the instrumental bridge's ambience, and then the "CAUSE YOU AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRE!!!!!" before the final chorus, awesome :D

Sonata Arctica - Gravenimage [click to listen]

One of my favorite songs. For one, the lyrics are beautiful, and it has enough instruments playing in it to get me hooked. I heard it a couple of years ago in a video project my friend was doing, and it fit in with the video perfectly, but at the same time I loved the song by itself. So I had to download it, and listen to it over and over again. I usually listen to this and other long and mesmerizing songs when I'm in a terrible mood. Calms me down a little bit .

The Pussycat Dolls- I hate this part (Dave Aude Remix)

This is my favorite PCD song (the only one I can tolerate, actually) remixed by Dave Aude <3 :awesome: This is a fab song and Dave kept the remix pretty simple to keep the focus on the lyrics. The buildup to the middle part of the song is a bit of a rush too. Its hard letting someone you love go :(

This next one...o.m.g. ....

Leonard Nimoy- "If I Were A Carpenter"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PjFJc40YViE

Holy crap  I'd never heard of this song before, but I think it's hilarious that he sang, I never knew that :lew: And his voice is pretty good too. I'm really not sure how to rate this, it's awesome but in a strange way XD but just thought I should share :D

Nimoy singing is one of the most hilariously amazing things ever.

I will warn anyone interested in looking into the Trek cast singing; watch out for Mr. Shatner's renditions of "Mr. Tambourine Man" and "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds".

In b4 "Ballad of Bilbo Baggins".

I just listened to all three of those :wacky: I swear Mr. Tambourine Man was next on my list to post here :lew: Here's the link though for anyone who hasn't been exposed to it:

Here's another good one, which I'm listening to now:

William Shatner- "Rocketman" (Elton John cover)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lul-Y8vSr0I
(song starts around 0:54)

I've always been creeped out by him for some reason when I've seen him recently in movies and on TV, but his older self was pretty funny XD This one is one of my favorite Elton John songs, but I actually like hearing it in spoken tones along with the music because it feels more like what would actually be going through the head of an astronaut--just honest thought. And seeing as how it's Captain Kirk, it's rather fitting :D
