Jeckyll & Hyde - Freefall
Dutch Jumpstyle! I love this genre. Just some high tempo trance and just sexy to listen to haha. Haven't listened to it much for years, but in the past week it's pretty much all I have listened to. Very enjoyable <3

I'd never heard this band before, and actually had thought I had read somewhere that they were associated with some other bands from a style I don't care for. But I love this style, sort of electronic-sounding rock with ambient vocals (sorry I'm no good with subgenres
), and I think it's cool that this pro-looking video is actually fan-made and got the real MGMT director to invite them to one of their real videos XD As far as the lyrics, I've heard several different interpretations, but have been unable to locate the actual meaning from the band's own mouth, so my interpretation is that it has to do with the environment, and possibly also draws a parallel between environmental fragility and the fragility of human relationships, specifically within families. I could be totally off
, but it sounds to me like they're pointing out the childlike, somewhat ignorant nature of many people in this world, and the way we take and take without thinking about the consequences, whether it's from the environment or other people. There's also a really good verse which seems to be about the ups and downs of individuality and free thinking: "The memories fade, like looking through a fogged mirror/Decision to decisions are made and not bought, but I thought this wouldn't hurt a lot. I guess not." As in, making your own decisions rather than living your life by taking on the pre-made ones that society has set up for us: it seems like a good idea, but there can also be consequences to it, such as realizing just how bad a state the world is in when others are merely numb to the idea ("memories" of better times that "fade")
Anyway, the first line of the chorus says it all--"Control yourself, take only what you need from it." I think this is an awesome motto to live by, and when coupled with a catchy tune, it makes for an awesome song
10/10 for sure.
Placebo's a great band, even though I'm not a fan of their new stuff. Their older albums were drop dead amazing, and this is one of the songs I love by them.
