How can there not be an Uncharted: Drake's Fortune thread?

I recently got it and I've been enjoying it immensely! I'm only in Chapter 5 and so far the characters have been quite amusing, especially Nathan. Trying to get all the treasures in the game and my gosh, there's a lot. -__- Kinda ruins the whole "rare" factor to it, but hey, if it gets me more trophies, I'm not gonna complain.

I just wish I knew beforehand that there would be creepy-looking corpses lying around. Imagine my daughter's reaction as well as mine when the scene in the ship came up. And
zombies
too I heard? Great...

But aside from that, I love this game, and I've already bought Uncharted 2 last night so I'm hoping to start playing that by next week. =]

I do love this game a lot. I can see myself going back to this at a later date, as though I have Uncharted 2 this game is still very good. I like the story quite a lot as it is very personal to Nate in this game.

The characters were really great, and well acted out by their voice actors (who also did the motion capture). I think the way they moved in the cutscenes was the best I had seen in a game at the time, as I don't think motion capture was really used much before this. Watching the 'making of' videos you can unlock through playing the game was really interesting to see the voice actors acting out some of the scenes from the game for the cutscenes.

My favourite characters are probably Victor Sullivan and Drake, but I quite like Eddy Raja from this game too. I'd say I like Elena too, and I do think she is great, but then I realise that I'd just essentially be saying that I love them all. Well I guess I do, so yeah, the characters = fantastic, and I love them all.

As for the treasures... Yeah, there is a heck of a lot of them, and
+1 to the total if you include the 'Strange Relic'
(which gives an additional trophy). A lot of them are quite simple and easy to find, but some are much harder and will probably require you to replay the game (or at least certain sections) in order to collect them.

Wait for Uncharted 2, there's 100 treasures and they're harder to find :wacky:

I think Uncharted was a largely overlooked game, I know at first I didn't even bat an eyelid at it when I saw it in the shop. Nevertheless, I gave the game a chance and it's probably one of my favourite games ever. I think it helps to play Uncharted before Uncharted 2 mind, you can get away with not doing it, but I think it helps understand some of the relationships between people in Uncharted 2 and get to know them more as a character. The submarine part seemed a bit random at first but there's a reason to it. :ryan:

I think Ryan and I agreed in the RE5 thread that the Uncharted zombies were scarier than the RE5 ones. There are a couple more scenes like the creepy corpses one, in as much that they might not be suitable for children.

The rest of the game is as fun as the first 5 chapters, but it does get a bit harder towards the end.

This'll definitely be the first game I get for the PS3 should I ever get one. Naughty Dog kicks ass. The second? Uncharted 2 of course. Well, that or Ratchet and Clank. Or LittlebigPlanet. Or MAG.

God I need a PS3.

I was actually quite relieved to see that I can go back a few chapters to collect the treasures that I've missed without having to restart entirely. As soon as I acquire the treasure, I save the game and go back to where I left off. It's so convenient.

Yeah I've been making sure that my daughter's not around when I play now. It really did catch me off guard, especially since it was still somewhat in the beginning of the game and I was expecting to encounter bats, wolves, or tigers , not dead corpses...

And I really don't like the reason behind it. D:

The decendants are definitely the scariest creatures in a video game that I have seen thus far, excluding Dead Space of course... nothing tops that game. However, I think I've just gotten over my fear of them. I kept telling myself to just deal with it lol, and finished the chapter. I got to chapter 20
and was so relieved to see the light of day
! I'm so glad that
I don't have to fight those fricking things anymore
. Or do I?

Once you get to
the church in chapter 20
the game is noticeably harder. Hopefully I'll end up finishing this game up tomorrow, so I can get on with UC2's story.

If you were scared of that corpse in the ship, Mits, you'll die at the sight of a decendant attacking you. =/

When this game first came out I pretty much ignored it thinking that it would be just another one of those games with a shitty story and conventional gameplay. I only recently played it for the first time a few months ago after hearing about how good it was from everyone everywhere. Now I'd say that it is one of my favorite games on the PS3 (along with Uncharted 2). The game was able to combine an interesting story and lovable characters (with superb voice acting and cutscenes I might add) with great gameplay which never seemed to get old. Plus the environment and adventurous themes made the whole game feel like an Indiana Jones film which I thought was quite awesome.

In my opinion Uncharted 2 was able to far surpass the first game, but that doesn't make the first game any less fantastic.

I've seen how brilliant the second game is, so I'm going to get the first game when I have the money available to me. I'm one of those people who HAS to play the games in chronological order. xD
