Well, I’d rather have a fresh new character for a fresh new start. I’ll continue using the character for the element of Air. I hope this character is acceptable.

~Name~
Kleio Nefertari
~Age~
20
~Gender~
Female
~Alignment~
Lawful Neutral
~Element~
Air
~Physical Appearance~
Kleio is rather tall amongst her peers, standing at a height of 178cm. She weighs about 60kg, slightly underweight for her height. Her hair is often seen tied up into a ponytail that reaches down just below her shoulders.
Both her hair and eyes reflect her perceived personality, dark and brooding. Her features are rather attractive to most, with clearly defined eyebrows, a sharp nose, and soft, cherry red lips. Kleio’s face is also clear of common facial ailments like acne, and pimples- possibly a result of her family genes.
Her bodyline is considered ‘healthily’ slim- at least, by most, considering how subjective this actually sounds. She also has rather ample assets, as shown in the image.
All in all, a word to describe her would be ‘elegant’. She is beautiful, and encompasses that particular aspect in most of her actions and the way she speaks. This, possibly, helps in generating a positive first impression, and an aura of grace that many feel awed to witness.
~Preference in Clothing~
(Refer to the link above)
Kleio particularly enjoys being dressed in her full body armor at all times.
Her ‘full body armor’ consists on a mixture of real metal armor and soft clothing. Starting from the top, she detests, and never, wears a helmet. Instead, she wears a headband that bears the emblem of her family, an emerald. This headband has tail ends, which is rather similar to the feathers of a peacock, except without any intricate designs, and are made of emerald. She usually keeps her fringe unchecked, preferring to have it hang down, obscuring her vision on some instances.
Moving down, she wears a metal guard that protects her neck, which also extends down her shoulders to her arms. There is a blue ribbon tied just above her elbow area on her right hand to serve as a reminder to herself of a promise she made (Details in the History section below). This metal guard ends at the wrists. Kleio wears a separate leather glove to cover her hands.
Attached to the neck area of the neck guard is a cloak that is white on the outside, and blue on the inside. There are no elaborate designs on the cloak, save for a single green thread that can be seen when looking at a longitudinal perspective. This green thread serves to identify her as one of the Nefertari.
The metal guard does not protect her torso, nor does she intend to add any layer of protection to her torso, as she dislikes how a full metal plate impedes her mobility- and makes her warmer. She substitutes that with a bustier. (Which isn’t even a form of protection, admittedly, but allows her more mobility)
At her waist, she wears a metal belt that holds what she calls the ‘plume end’. This series of metal plates have been weaved together to provide some form of protection to her thighs. There are some designs on the upper metal piece to serve, once again, as identification of her identity. Within this so-called ‘plume end’ is a long piece of cloth to make it more comfortable to wear. This ‘plume end’ is rather light, and does not generate much noise when Kleio walks.
Kleio finishes her ‘full body armor’ with a soft pair of trousers. She tightened the trousers to her legs with a leather belt as shown in the image. This leather belt is also used to hold her item pouch. (A random innovation on her part) It ends with a specially customized pair of heels. This pair of heels extends up to below her knees, and is meant to provide protections to her legs- and also allow her to land harder kicks on her opponents. (Note that these designs are similar for both legs. The image only shows her right leg, and hides her left in the background)
~Preferred Weapon~
‘Glory’. This sword was specially crafted with the intention of bringing glory in battle. Forged using the hardest metals available, the blacksmiths spent months just to create this blade. The result was a simple-looking, but commendably tough blade that can slice through some metal- like iron. The blade of the sword is, in fact, so sharp that just lightly sliding a finger down on the edge would draw blood.
At the hilt, the blade repeats the same peacock-inspired design as her headband. Emeralds are also used for this particular piece, but it is relatively lesser due to the metal surrounding it to secure it. (Especially in the case of battle)
This sword is about 80cm long, excluding the hilt.
Kleio is also skilled enough to handle a halberd, though she does not like to use it as compared to the sword. The only time she would use it is when she’s unarmed, and the halberd happens to be the closest weapon to her.
~Personality~
Kleio is confident, but not to the extent of arrogance. She is talented in her skills with the sword, but she never boasts about it, preferring instead to eat humble pie. However, despite her innate humility, she has a competitive instinct within herself that compels her to seek victory in whatever challenge she takes up.
In battle, she is composed, and isn’t an easy person to daunt- even if the odds are seemingly against her. She may seek to win, but she is not that desperate enough to fight a battle she knows she will lose. Kleio enjoys analyzing a battle to see the best way to attack, as well as the best way to retreat.
When conversing, she is rather careful with her choice of topics, usually keen to avoid topics that are mere gossip about another person. She likes to pose controversial topics and see the arguments of the other. It is from these words, she formulates her opinions of another. She can converse casually with anyone, but some people may find the way she pronounces the words to be a little pretentious.
That aside, she is a rather blunt person, who never hesitates to pour out her personal opinions of people, even if those opinions are inaccurate. Though, she usually has subjective views to most topics, and can express a rather insightful opinion of things in general.
However, when it comes to talking about food, don’t expect her ‘elegance’ to stay. When talking about food, she seems almost like a child. She no longer cares about how she carries herself, and is suddenly behaving like a hyperactive person desperate to talk non-stop about it. If she sees food, and is not in the presence of her family, God bless those sharing the food with her…
~History~
The Nefertari Family.
The Family may be reclusive, but they are definitely very affluent, despite their large size. It consists of 4 elders, who head the family, and below them, are their children, the Second Generation- in their words. Kleio is from the Third Generation, and also the youngest amongst the grandchildren of the Elders.
The origins of this family are widely speculated amongst the Second and Third Generation, but the truth has, thus far, been well kept by the Elders. It is presently believed that the family started out by dabbling in affairs of the ‘underworld’. Word has it that the Elders manipulated the thugs they hired to work for them, sometimes dispatching them to eliminate several key rivals.
Nevertheless, the Nefertari Family, to the knowledge of the younger ones, is working as a mercenary group.
Within the Family, the Elders have a particularly strict control over every member. There is to be no disobeying of whatever they say, no matter how unreasonable they may be. Anyway, no one ever dares to disobey them, for the punishments they have meted out to disobedient people are infamous within the family.
Despite that, majority of the Family respects the Elders for having been the main reason why the Nefertari Family exists today. They claim that without the Elders, they wouldn’t be as rich as they were now- which is actually true. However, there are those few that behaves contrary to this behavior.
All the children of the Family are expected to help in the Family business- that is, to become a Mercenary. Hence, all the children after the Elders were brought up with the sword and shield. From the first time the child is able to walk, he or she first pushed hard to learn to read. Then, when the child becomes more physically fit, a harsh training regime awaits.
By 7, the child should have built up a fair amount of stamina. He is then introduced to weaponry, and from there, they would identify the weapon he or she is most comfortable with. A secondary weapon is also identified at this time to allow the child to be a more versatile warrior. Up till the age of 15, the child is trained in the art of his or her chosen weaponry. From there, the child will be involved in simple missions.
At the age of 17, the child is expected to be physically fit, and a master of at least two weapons. It is then; the child will be pitted against the other mercenaries in a friendly duel. The champion would be the next leader of the Mercenary business. Those who fail to win would merely serve as a mercenary. (Note, this duel extends over to the non-Nefertari members that work for the Family)
NOTE~
The Family takes a neutral stand to the political events of the world at large. All they offer is a mercenary service that goes to the highest bidder. It happened that when Kleio was born, they had offered their services to the Cornithians, not because they were supporters of the Cornithian cause. (It should be known that the Family had offered their services against Cornithia before as well)
A brief outline of the family tree:
4 Elders -> 9 Children (Second Generation) -> 14 Children (Third Generation: Kleio is youngest in this category)
Kleio’s Backstory
Kleio was the youngest child to be born to the Nefertari Family. At the time of her birth, it happened that the mercenaries had just returned from successful battle against the Gallacarians. The Elders were pleased with the outcome, and more pleased to learn of a new member to the family. As Kleio’s arrival came with a glorious victory on their side, they named her as such- ‘Kleio’ means ‘Glory’.
Like her many cousins, Kleio was raised to be a warrior for the Nefertari Family. She was found to be particularly skilled with the sword, as well as the halberd, and thus, they trained her to master those weapons. At the age of 12, she had already mastered her swordsmanship enough to defeat her trainer in battle. According to customs, there was supposed to be three more years before she was allowed to join the mercenaries on missions.
Nevertheless, the Elders saw her potential and decided that they might as well nurture this talent. So, Kleio joined the mercenaries on simple missions till the age of 16, where she was officially recruited as a full-fledged mercenary. Her tough jobs made her eat a lot, developing her love for food.
At the age of 17, according to customs, the Third Generation is to compete amongst them in a duel to decide the winner that will lead the Nefertari Mercenary business. There were other mercenaries from the business allowed to participate as well, and for that year, there were surprisingly more.
Kleio, of course, with her talent, was rumored to be the winner. Despite that, she met her match at the final round of the competition. Up against her was another mercenary of the same age, named Deimos. This was a charming young man that seemed almost like a polar opposite of Kleio.
While Kleio was confident and generally outspoken, Deimos was shy and reserved. The only similarity between them was their apparent good looks and excellent fighting abilities. Kleio, recognizing this contrasting personality, was even keener to win.
In her eagerness to win, she slipped up, leaving a hole in her defense and allowed Deimos to break past her defense. The duel after that was Kleio’s attempt to salvage her defense, to no avail. Deimos won the duel in the end, and was crowned champion. The Elders, although pleased to have found another talent, was rather disappointed with Kleio.
Kleio herself was disappointed, but fairly impressed with Deimos’ skill. She does not explicitly show this in her behavior, but continues working for the Family under the new leader, Deimos. Over the next three years, Deimos proves to be an effective leader, both in and out of battle. Kleio’s fame as a ‘prodigy’ takes a back seat.
The new ‘prodigy’ was now Deimos, and while Kleio feels unhappy about it, she decides it may be for the better. She takes leave from the Family business and heads out for a long break. Her first stop was Cornithia, a bad move considering the recent victories that the Gallacarians had scored against Cornithia.
She had no knowledge about the incoming attack on the city…
