Ultimate Elementum v2 [Sign-up & discussion]

Well, I’d rather have a fresh new character for a fresh new start. I’ll continue using the character for the element of Air. I hope this character is acceptable.

If we're going to continue from where

~Name~
Kleio Nefertari

~Age~
20

~Gender~
Female

~Alignment~
Lawful Neutral

~Element~
Air

~Physical Appearance~
Kleio is rather tall amongst her peers, standing at a height of 178cm. She weighs about 60kg, slightly underweight for her height. Her hair is often seen tied up into a ponytail that reaches down just below her shoulders.

Both her hair and eyes reflect her perceived personality, dark and brooding. Her features are rather attractive to most, with clearly defined eyebrows, a sharp nose, and soft, cherry red lips. Kleio’s face is also clear of common facial ailments like acne, and pimples- possibly a result of her family genes.

Her bodyline is considered ‘healthily’ slim- at least, by most, considering how subjective this actually sounds. She also has rather ample assets, as shown in the image.

All in all, a word to describe her would be ‘elegant’. She is beautiful, and encompasses that particular aspect in most of her actions and the way she speaks. This, possibly, helps in generating a positive first impression, and an aura of grace that many feel awed to witness.

~Preference in Clothing~
(Refer to the link above)

Kleio particularly enjoys being dressed in her full body armor at all times.

Her ‘full body armor’ consists on a mixture of real metal armor and soft clothing. Starting from the top, she detests, and never, wears a helmet. Instead, she wears a headband that bears the emblem of her family, an emerald. This headband has tail ends, which is rather similar to the feathers of a peacock, except without any intricate designs, and are made of emerald. She usually keeps her fringe unchecked, preferring to have it hang down, obscuring her vision on some instances.

Moving down, she wears a metal guard that protects her neck, which also extends down her shoulders to her arms. There is a blue ribbon tied just above her elbow area on her right hand to serve as a reminder to herself of a promise she made (Details in the History section below). This metal guard ends at the wrists. Kleio wears a separate leather glove to cover her hands.

Attached to the neck area of the neck guard is a cloak that is white on the outside, and blue on the inside. There are no elaborate designs on the cloak, save for a single green thread that can be seen when looking at a longitudinal perspective. This green thread serves to identify her as one of the Nefertari.

The metal guard does not protect her torso, nor does she intend to add any layer of protection to her torso, as she dislikes how a full metal plate impedes her mobility- and makes her warmer. She substitutes that with a bustier. (Which isn’t even a form of protection, admittedly, but allows her more mobility)

At her waist, she wears a metal belt that holds what she calls the ‘plume end’. This series of metal plates have been weaved together to provide some form of protection to her thighs. There are some designs on the upper metal piece to serve, once again, as identification of her identity. Within this so-called ‘plume end’ is a long piece of cloth to make it more comfortable to wear. This ‘plume end’ is rather light, and does not generate much noise when Kleio walks.

Kleio finishes her ‘full body armor’ with a soft pair of trousers. She tightened the trousers to her legs with a leather belt as shown in the image. This leather belt is also used to hold her item pouch. (A random innovation on her part) It ends with a specially customized pair of heels. This pair of heels extends up to below her knees, and is meant to provide protections to her legs- and also allow her to land harder kicks on her opponents. (Note that these designs are similar for both legs. The image only shows her right leg, and hides her left in the background)

~Preferred Weapon~
‘Glory’. This sword was specially crafted with the intention of bringing glory in battle. Forged using the hardest metals available, the blacksmiths spent months just to create this blade. The result was a simple-looking, but commendably tough blade that can slice through some metal- like iron. The blade of the sword is, in fact, so sharp that just lightly sliding a finger down on the edge would draw blood.

At the hilt, the blade repeats the same peacock-inspired design as her headband. Emeralds are also used for this particular piece, but it is relatively lesser due to the metal surrounding it to secure it. (Especially in the case of battle)

This sword is about 80cm long, excluding the hilt.

Kleio is also skilled enough to handle a halberd, though she does not like to use it as compared to the sword. The only time she would use it is when she’s unarmed, and the halberd happens to be the closest weapon to her.

~Personality~
Kleio is confident, but not to the extent of arrogance. She is talented in her skills with the sword, but she never boasts about it, preferring instead to eat humble pie. However, despite her innate humility, she has a competitive instinct within herself that compels her to seek victory in whatever challenge she takes up.

In battle, she is composed, and isn’t an easy person to daunt- even if the odds are seemingly against her. She may seek to win, but she is not that desperate enough to fight a battle she knows she will lose. Kleio enjoys analyzing a battle to see the best way to attack, as well as the best way to retreat.

When conversing, she is rather careful with her choice of topics, usually keen to avoid topics that are mere gossip about another person. She likes to pose controversial topics and see the arguments of the other. It is from these words, she formulates her opinions of another. She can converse casually with anyone, but some people may find the way she pronounces the words to be a little pretentious.

That aside, she is a rather blunt person, who never hesitates to pour out her personal opinions of people, even if those opinions are inaccurate. Though, she usually has subjective views to most topics, and can express a rather insightful opinion of things in general.

However, when it comes to talking about food, don’t expect her ‘elegance’ to stay. When talking about food, she seems almost like a child. She no longer cares about how she carries herself, and is suddenly behaving like a hyperactive person desperate to talk non-stop about it. If she sees food, and is not in the presence of her family, God bless those sharing the food with her…

~History~
The Nefertari Family.

The Family may be reclusive, but they are definitely very affluent, despite their large size. It consists of 4 elders, who head the family, and below them, are their children, the Second Generation- in their words. Kleio is from the Third Generation, and also the youngest amongst the grandchildren of the Elders.

The origins of this family are widely speculated amongst the Second and Third Generation, but the truth has, thus far, been well kept by the Elders. It is presently believed that the family started out by dabbling in affairs of the ‘underworld’. Word has it that the Elders manipulated the thugs they hired to work for them, sometimes dispatching them to eliminate several key rivals.

Nevertheless, the Nefertari Family, to the knowledge of the younger ones, is working as a mercenary group.

Within the Family, the Elders have a particularly strict control over every member. There is to be no disobeying of whatever they say, no matter how unreasonable they may be. Anyway, no one ever dares to disobey them, for the punishments they have meted out to disobedient people are infamous within the family.

Despite that, majority of the Family respects the Elders for having been the main reason why the Nefertari Family exists today. They claim that without the Elders, they wouldn’t be as rich as they were now- which is actually true. However, there are those few that behaves contrary to this behavior.

All the children of the Family are expected to help in the Family business- that is, to become a Mercenary. Hence, all the children after the Elders were brought up with the sword and shield. From the first time the child is able to walk, he or she first pushed hard to learn to read. Then, when the child becomes more physically fit, a harsh training regime awaits.

By 7, the child should have built up a fair amount of stamina. He is then introduced to weaponry, and from there, they would identify the weapon he or she is most comfortable with. A secondary weapon is also identified at this time to allow the child to be a more versatile warrior. Up till the age of 15, the child is trained in the art of his or her chosen weaponry. From there, the child will be involved in simple missions.

At the age of 17, the child is expected to be physically fit, and a master of at least two weapons. It is then; the child will be pitted against the other mercenaries in a friendly duel. The champion would be the next leader of the Mercenary business. Those who fail to win would merely serve as a mercenary. (Note, this duel extends over to the non-Nefertari members that work for the Family)

NOTE~

The Family takes a neutral stand to the political events of the world at large. All they offer is a mercenary service that goes to the highest bidder. It happened that when Kleio was born, they had offered their services to the Cornithians, not because they were supporters of the Cornithian cause. (It should be known that the Family had offered their services against Cornithia before as well)

A brief outline of the family tree:

4 Elders -> 9 Children (Second Generation) -> 14 Children (Third Generation: Kleio is youngest in this category)

Kleio’s Backstory
Kleio was the youngest child to be born to the Nefertari Family. At the time of her birth, it happened that the mercenaries had just returned from successful battle against the Gallacarians. The Elders were pleased with the outcome, and more pleased to learn of a new member to the family. As Kleio’s arrival came with a glorious victory on their side, they named her as such- ‘Kleio’ means ‘Glory’.

Like her many cousins, Kleio was raised to be a warrior for the Nefertari Family. She was found to be particularly skilled with the sword, as well as the halberd, and thus, they trained her to master those weapons. At the age of 12, she had already mastered her swordsmanship enough to defeat her trainer in battle. According to customs, there was supposed to be three more years before she was allowed to join the mercenaries on missions.

Nevertheless, the Elders saw her potential and decided that they might as well nurture this talent. So, Kleio joined the mercenaries on simple missions till the age of 16, where she was officially recruited as a full-fledged mercenary. Her tough jobs made her eat a lot, developing her love for food.

At the age of 17, according to customs, the Third Generation is to compete amongst them in a duel to decide the winner that will lead the Nefertari Mercenary business. There were other mercenaries from the business allowed to participate as well, and for that year, there were surprisingly more.

Kleio, of course, with her talent, was rumored to be the winner. Despite that, she met her match at the final round of the competition. Up against her was another mercenary of the same age, named Deimos. This was a charming young man that seemed almost like a polar opposite of Kleio.

While Kleio was confident and generally outspoken, Deimos was shy and reserved. The only similarity between them was their apparent good looks and excellent fighting abilities. Kleio, recognizing this contrasting personality, was even keener to win.

In her eagerness to win, she slipped up, leaving a hole in her defense and allowed Deimos to break past her defense. The duel after that was Kleio’s attempt to salvage her defense, to no avail. Deimos won the duel in the end, and was crowned champion. The Elders, although pleased to have found another talent, was rather disappointed with Kleio.

Kleio herself was disappointed, but fairly impressed with Deimos’ skill. She does not explicitly show this in her behavior, but continues working for the Family under the new leader, Deimos. Over the next three years, Deimos proves to be an effective leader, both in and out of battle. Kleio’s fame as a ‘prodigy’ takes a back seat.

The new ‘prodigy’ was now Deimos, and while Kleio feels unhappy about it, she decides it may be for the better. She takes leave from the Family business and heads out for a long break. Her first stop was Cornithia, a bad move considering the recent victories that the Gallacarians had scored against Cornithia.

She had no knowledge about the incoming attack on the city…

Tipsy and Lux: accepted. I'll edit you both onto the first post.

Any additional applications are welcome. :awesome: You don't have to be an Element to be in the RP, so anyone's free to join.

Man! I can't wait for the role play to start now~ I suppose we're waiting for more people to fill up the roles of the elements, no? .. And, just a small mistake, but my character's family name is 'Nefertari', not 'Neferati'. I used the exact same name of the Egyptian Pharoah's wife. In case there's any interest in it.

Sorry about that. =P Edited.

I'll try doing some campaigning for the remainder of this evening and get the RP thread up before I get to bed. Again: new applicants welcommmmmmmmmmmmmmme.

Virgil, may I join? :3

I'd like to take your Light Elemental since you still have it available. I'm asking tho before I take forever writing up a chara bio, because atm.. I'm shitfaced for ideas. xD I've got plenty of free time so I can possibly get it done over the next few days, it's just tonight I'm bogged for ideas. >;

Nevermind, I managed to pull something together xD Stayed up nearly till midnight writing that bitch. Hope you like it Virg <3

Name: Tulah Vintas (Tooo-lah)

Age: 21

Gender: Female

Personality: Though they are not well suited for scholarly pursuits, Cornithian Soldiers are natural stalkers and excel in any stealthy or physical profession. Cornithians are ferocious, proud, extravagant, and extremely competitive. They love to show off and are quite friendly when the mood suits them. All Cornithians are very stealthy, trained to see well in the dark, and have a natural tracking ability. This allows them to be excellent swordsmen as well, sneaking upon their prey and striking. Tulah is no exception.

The difference with Tulah is her inability to hide her emotions on the battlefield. She uses her womanly rage to plough through soldiers as if they were butter. Be it on, or off the battlefield, Tulah carries with her an inner anger against her homeland that won’t ever fade away. She remains fairly stoic to others, her ‘friends’ and comrades, see her as a cold and unforgiving warrior, but that’s not how she wants to appear to others at all. Truth be told, she can’t even control the way she acts around others. Her emotions waver like a pendulum, and her temper even more delicate. Her pride as a warrior comes first, however she secretly harbours a wish in her heart to be treated like a normal human being, and for someone to see passed her black scars.

Alignment: Neutral-Benefactor- Someone who doesn’t necessarily take a side from the very beginning. They are basically one who can’t turn down help when it is needed, but however they can’t take a side completely when it comes to a war.

Element: LightAlthough Tulah has no idea of her abilities to possess the power of light, she has dabbled in the act of herbalism, particularly with the art of healing. Her parents hoped to pass on this gift to their first born, and some of it managed to stay with her. With her previous experience, Tulah will be able to handle her ability with Light in a way that is unimaginable... or so the first battle will lead her to believe. After the first battle is won and her powers have waned, she will carry her powers with an air of cockiness; an understanding that that is how her powers are meant to be.

Tulah will be able to manifest a wall of pure light before her enemies, first to blind them against their own attacks and then to thrust it forward and fry their minds. Soon after she has understood her powers she will be able to use Chaos Strings, an attack that uses pale lightning to stretch forward and surround an enemy with whips of searing white energy. Their skin will burn and tear apart at the edges leaving behind fleshy remains. Soon after she’ll hope to control the very light around her, taking it away from a room if she so wished.

Physical Appearance: Tulah's body has been crafted after over a decade of harsh training in the Cornithian army. She remains lithe and agile, able to move nimbly through a crowd and pick pocket unsuspecting pry. However her upper body strength far surpasses the average woman her age. With her toned, slightly muscular arms she is able to wield most weapons, yet her physique doesn’t make her threatening to others.

Tattered black hair remains frayed at the edges, not seeing a cut in a few years. Her fringe often shades her vision, though she prefers it that way sometimes. Cloudy blue eyes hide behind a layer of black hair and accompany an excess of features; a slightly pointed nose with a thin bridge, a gift from her mother. Pale pink lips spread across her tan complexion, and high cheek bones accentuate an apple shaped face. Her unusually dark eyebrows are comfortably arched, sometimes in annoyance or vexation. A thin fragile neck remains always exposed by her cloak, a sensual act unseen by her. Her collarbone and shoulders peak out from worn edges, however her arms remain concealed until her hands stand out; hands that would lead a man to believe she was so fragile and dainty, but could truly lay waste to a hoard.

Tulah remains insecure of her tattoos, often described as a disease. The black markings travel across just the left side of her body, which is her main reasoning for keeping the left side of her face concealed. Her face especially makes her anxious, only imagining how daunting her features could be to others.

Preferred Clothing:
As a female warrior, one of few, Tulah needs to be nimble and quick, so she relies on a light thin cloth wrapped around her body as a cloak. She hardly ever wears heavy clothing as she’s unused to the materials used and the feel of it against her skin weighs her down too heavily and throws her body off for battle. Her cloak is made from the fur of the Dohatsuten, a snow beast in the northern mountains said to be a myth. Its fur shields her from harsh winds yet keeps her cool in high temperatures. If need be, she throws up the hood to shield herself to prying eyes in the street. Tattered as the wrap is, it’s kept her warm for several years, and she refuses to give into making a new one. Not to mention those Dohatsuten’s are hard to hunt.

She wears tan leather boots made from the Gojou, a mountain lion that resides in the far west. Its hide acts as a good insulator as well as good protection. The thin leather is tough enough against even the roughest terrain, and she’s traveled a long ways across Cornithian country.

Armour:
Most of Tulah’s clothing acts as secondary armour. The black binds around her waist and hips are leather straps wound so tightly to her body that it acts as a very thin chainmail. Numerous times had she been attacked but never fatally wounded. At times her leather will fail on her, but she has a specialized tanner in Cornithia that mends her armour.

Preferred Weaponry: Tulah can handle most weapons considering she was trained as a Cornithian soldier, however she really only keeps one or two with her at a time. Her Specialized Naginata acts as a spear as well as a whip. What would appear to be a simple fish headed spear with a polished wooden handle would fool anyone. A switch in the middle of the handle acts as a release, allowing the fish head to detach from the main body of the spear via a foot long metal chain. This allows Tulah to swing her spear like a barbarian, the blade spinning about liberally and causing more damage than a simple jab would.

As secondary weapons, Tulah carries a black leather whip folded and strapped to her back. Alongside that, a light 5 inch dagger stays tucked into her left boot. She hardly touches it, but carries it with her as a safety mechanism, should her Naginata be taken from her.

Physical Abilities: Tulah’s physical abilities are not unbridled by her physical stature. Like any other woman, she cannot overtake a man physically, although she has been known to take one down in an arm wrestle once or twice. With her lithe physique, she is able to move swiftly through the war zone, slipping passed guards and sneaking up on them without a moment’s notice.

Trained as she was, she can handle most weapons with ease, be it an agile dagger, a nimble whip or a two handed sword. Although she knows her limits, she’s no Wonder Woman. If pinned against a full on assault of barbarian men, she wouldn’t stand a chance alone. In the Cornithian Army she’s usually given sneak tactics to avoid being used in a full on war zone so recklessly. She has become a great asset to the Army, and the closest thing they could come to when it came to a ninja.

History:
Tulah was born into a family of four, the older of the two sisters. The parents were proud of their two children, however seemed to favour the youngest, Alexis, for reasons of being the baby, the one who needed tender and nurturing care. Tulah was expected to look after her sister more often than her parents did, as they were traveling Healers in the Village. While a successful trade, the family was not wealthy.

One morning at the tender age of eight, Tulah ventured off into the outskirts of her home, with a burning desire to know what lay beyond. But a fateful encounter with a Seer would change the young girl’s life. The blind man branded the child, etching black markings into the girl’s skin that start from the left side of her face and continue on down her body, ending at her left thigh. The forces of this intrusion on her body was unknown, as magic didn't plague the lands. As she returned home, her parents laid eyes on her newly formed tattoos and cast the girl out. Work like this wasn't like anything they had ever seen before, and now the poor girl was cursed. Leaving home with a small bag of goods and coin, they cast her out, never seeing her again.

Thankfully for Tulah, she didn’t have to travel far for she was already in Cornithian countryside. A passing soldier had inquired the girl of her family’s absence, and after hearing her tale, had taken her to his Commander. The Cornithain Commander, feeling sorry for the poor thing, decided to allow her to stay within the young boys’ barracks, and train her as a future soldier of the army. It was within these walls that the girl would learn to toughen up more than any other girl her age. Soldiers treated her as if she was their own, a young girl amidst a sea men, trained to be the next secret weapon.

As the years passed, Tulah would make her earnings stealing from the rich folk on the street, using her charm to win the sympathy of a passer byer, and Soldier street smarts to steal their belongings, no matter who they were. Tulah truly was a miracle worker; plenty of soldiers could threaten a peasant into giving their money over, but only Tulah could use her girlish charms and bat her eyelashes to distract them while she thieved them from behind their back.

When Tulah heard of the war, she signed up immediately, eager to create a name for herself. Many soldiers over the years had come back from the glory of war a hero, but Tulah wanted to be the first woman warrior taken seriously in a world of men.

A nice profile Channy, but reading back to the first post I don't think I highlighted certain things well enough: magic doesn't exist in today's age except through the six Elements (the people), so travelling healers is a no-go. Perhaps you could refer to herbology in stead? Same goes with the Witchcraft mentioned in your History - if you can define that it wasn't magically branded to her, that's fine with me.

Neither of these should be too taxing for you to change, so taking all else into account I'll be glad to accept your character.

I can't really think of a good first post for this RP if I'm quite honest, but I'll get something up there anyway because this thing really does need to get on its feet!

Sorry about the delay, when I get home I'll work on that bio. I would have it done by yesterday, but no way I was gonna miss metalfest...Music is more important. So today it will be up

Out of curiosity, would it be possible for me to post my first post from the original RP with a few tweaks? I'm not being lazy. Just thought the original post got Avril's nature across well.

You probably did highlite them enough, it's just I was too tired to thoroughly read the OP... which I thought I did anyway. :monster:

Those aren't major issues and I'll tweak those out of the bio when I get home.

Any chance Kyrie could meet Kleio? LOL. An alternate history repeats another?

:spam2:

I decided on restarting the bio entirely, I don't like what I have going, so here we are.

Name: Soren Ryakai

Gender: Male

Age: 37

Alignment: Good

Element: Earth. He can manipulate wood like plants to his command, but he cannot speed growth to extend any reach. He also has the ability to harden materials, but this also stiffens them, so hardening his clothes has it's own fall. He will also be able to tell what kinds of stones and other such materials are by touch, along with ratio's of mixtures if it is a mixture.

Physical appearance: Rather tall, he stands at 6'2" with very little body fat. Most of his 173 pounds are solid muscle. Most of the muscle in his body is in his lower body and his abdominal area. His snowy hair is rather spiked and seems to glide in the air. He also has red eyes in certain lighting, but normally he has blue eyes, but lacks the pigment potency to be obvious at all times.

Clothing: He likes to wear nice comfortable loose clothes made of very soft fabrics. He usually wears a very thin scarf that is torn badly at the ends of it around his neck. Most of his clothes are left waving in the wind. He does have a piece of armor on his back that he always wears that resembles larger rib bones, with only three prongs. Generally he wears a dark robe leaving his chest bare

Physical abilities: He can throw his voice and disguise it rather well. It's easier to throw it in a forest area, or a place with many obstructions. He does so by aiming his voice at an object and shouting in a very particular way so that the sound waves will reflect off the object, thus making it sound as if he is somewhere else.

He is also very agile and capable of changing his direction of travel in mid run, enabling him to move swiftly around corners. He can also stop running when he is at maximum speed at a very fast rate. The same concept applies for when he goes from a dead stop to a top sprint, he can do so in an instant

Preferred weapon: Daggers and knives of the sort. He generally carries a set of knives, but he only uses one in battle. It is about 9 inches long and 3 inches wide. The blade is blue but the center is gold colored.
Starts with this set
dagger_set.jpg.rZd.48182.jpg

Personality:
A very fair person, he does what he views is right, and he does it by his own means. He is actually a very loving person, but also very secretive. He does not like to tell anyone he is a skilled fighter unless they ask, same with anything else. He won't even say his name unless asked. He is actually rather selfless and is never afraid to help someone with a small job, like helping the elderly do something they really can't do anymore due to a bad body. He also is very very intelligent in science related topics, but talk to him about political topics and he won't know what to say. He is a strategist that can take into count several factors of battle, including the enemy intelligence if he knows the enemy. If not, he always prepares for the worst. If he didn't prepare for the worst, he would surely have died as far as he thinks. If someone were to accidentally bump into him, he would (figuratively speaking)push them aside and keep going on his way.

History: Soren was born in a clan of ninja and was raised just as they were used to. Tradition was not broken with this one. Some ninja in this clan were able to go step up into an assassin, as Soren did, but this required vigorous training and hard work. He had to exercise regularly and train his skills as far as he could. He also had to become great with his chosen weaponry. Most of his childhood was training and exercise. When he got into the outside world, he was a full assassin, and it was time to do his duty. An assassin was meant to take large dangerous jobs and take out large important figures, while also helping the smaller jobs get done. Soren has been doing this with pride ever since.

Pretty much a C&P, I'll wait to post for obv reasons. I'll also be prepared to alter history, I'll probably have to

Is it just me, or do we have more females than males in this RP? :gasp:

Also, tweaking bio atm, and will start on a post tonight sometime.

Edit: So I took out the magic and replaced with herbalism... I sorta blurred the line of witchcraft with just... unknown force since magic doesn't exist... :awesome: Is this okay now, or more tweaking?

So long your character have no encounter/knowledge/contact or whatever with magic before her death, it should do fine.

And yeah, we have six female characters in this role play, and only three male characters. Outnumbered 2:1. :D

And following the pattern, I guess our first post just goes up until the death then?

Also, possible lesbenems in the RP. :gasp:

I'm always up for a little yuri. :lew:But yeah. In the first RP, elemental characters died in their first posts.
