Anyone find the battles between these two in the Omega ruins a tad disspointing or abit too easy?

Maybe it's down to the Dark Aeons/Penance being so much stronger, or even some of the Monster Arena fiends, like Nemesis being alot stronger too, but for me, whenever I've gone to fight them, I've been dissapointed with the battle's length, and general ease to defeat them.

Anyone else feel like this? Or do you think the battles were what they should be and they have a fair level of enjoyment and difficulty?

In the area that contains the strongest fiends in the game, I really was expecting a real tough battle at the end on my first play through all those years ago.

Yeah i found it incredibly easy. I think this was due to the fact that i arrived at the omega ruins very late in the game. By this time my characters were over half way round the sphere grid, by the time i got to Omega he proved no challenge. He did have a lot of health but when you have attacks like blitz ace hes soon finished. The fact that there are harder monsters in the monster arena, and of course the dark aeons just made Omega seem a tad weak i think.

I found them both exceedingly easy, My anima's Overdrive is taking anywhere upto 710000 damage depending on what i use it one, it dealt with Ultima weapon with ease and it only took two hits on Omega Weapon. both a HUGE let down as i was expecting a challenge off of the weapons.

The strange thing is that everytime I fought them both I summoned aeons. I was too much of a wimp to face the bosses alone. Although, yesterday as I played against Omega I managed to do no summonings. And as that happened I defeated Omega only in a few hits. You could say it's pretty easy but personally I'm glad for that. Its attacks are surprisingly easy.

When I first faced them I really struggled. But that's because I hadn't levelled up enough, or whatever you'd call it in X. I scraped through Ultima and got my arse repeatedly handed to me by Omega. If you want a challenge dont level yourself up too much *shrugs*

Although I admit they were easy on latter playthroughs, I KNOW how much I struggled that first time. And Ive never forgotten dying time and time again trying to beat Omega and when I did I was like woohoo up yours :monster:

I'll confess that one of the few downsides to this game was in an otherwise tense atmosphere. Ultima and Omega are, traditionally, truly epic beasts who'll give you a run for your money but, by the time you get to the Omega Ruins, you'll most likely be able to survive battling against both of them.

In a way, I do feel that they should have been a bit tougher, but then again it all depended on how well leveled up and progressed your characters were at that point in the game when you fought them. I mean you take a look at them ahead of time in terms of HP and Ultima has like 70 million and Omega has 90 million or so, so in any older FF game, that would be enough to make you think twice about going into the dungeon un-prepared.

FFX however made the breaking damage limit a reward in some areas, but a disappointment in others. Enemies that were supposedly meant to be quite challenging, turned out to be regular boss battles in some ways, and eventually beatable in 1 hit if your characters were souped up enough.

I was happy about the story behind Omega and Ultima, but after traveling through the Omega Ruins twice, and wandering around the Sphere grid leveling up my party, the two bosses were a piece of cake to me.

I was just shocked...especially with Ultima Weapon. The battle was pretty much over as soon as it started. XD

A hit or two then it was dead, and to think I was in for one tough battle...then I didn't think Omega would be that tough either, which of course as we all know, it isn't tough. :P

But I enjoy fighting Nemesis, it is a much better challenge, and still looks like a weapon (but gold instead), it must have tons of HP, many millions, because one time when I cast Regen on it to see how much HP it would restore, sometimes it recovered well over 200000 HP in one turn! :O

Even Omega Weapon was susceptible to the Zanmato attack delivered by Yojimbo. There could have been a Zanmato block on him at least, to make things more challenging. But oh no...lol.

The same thing happenes with Penance, apparently he is susceptible to Zanmato!

Zanmato is successful against every single opponent in the game, unfortunately.

By the time I got to Omega Weapon, I thought he was a bit anti-climactic as the boss for that dungeon. He wasn't challenging in the least - the journey to get to him was more of a challenge, to be honest. One or two Celestial Weapons ensures victory.

First time 'round, I didn't even know it existed until much later on; at this point I was hitting solidly for around 20,000, and had subsequent supporting stats to match. Pretty disappointing overall, though I didn't use an Aeon so the fight lasted a fair while. It's a pity that developers rely so much on millions of HP to keep battles remotely interesting these days. =/ There has to be a tactical mind in their team!

Nowadays however, I intentionally avoid power-levelling in Omega Ruins so as to have a reasonably entertaining fight with both fiends. Their array of abilities is still a disappointment, but without the use of Aeons - it's a good fight with the latter encounter.

Really, after getting Break Damage Limits on your enemies, you can finish them both in a few turns, if your strength is high enough. When I first encountered them, without Celestial Weapons, they were superbosses, but afterwards, they weren't really that strong where they?

I did have a good fight with Omega the other day (posted a thread about it) but that was mainly down to the Magus Sisters doing the fighting. Never tried that before, and it turned out quite enjoyable.

Though there was still a feeling of "this should've been harder" afterwards.

Yeah, they were a bit too easy. Not enough HP, and their stats could have been at least a little bit higher.

Getting there was more of a challenge. -__-
I actually found the place hard.
Took soooo long.
I remember thinking 'OMG IT'S FINALLY HERE! OMEGA!'
Then I just easily killed it with Magnus Sisters. >__>
