3RD F***ING TIME IVE WROTE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, how do you feel about Tidus? Did people dislike him because he was loud, in your face and hyper? Do you prefer the quiet, loner character? Or does it make a nice change having a main character whose bubbly almost?

I personally didnt like him at first. He was too loud, emotional and just pain annoying. Sorry, thats the way I feel about him. Some may disagree, fair enough, but man, I loved it when he eventually calmed down.

Do you think Tidus is too loud or is it nice to play an emotional character with a hyper personality?

I think he talked way too much and I found his voice annoying. I basically agree with everything you said, I prefer a quiter main character. Leave the hyper ones as support characters I think......

It was the first time I preferred another character in the game (Auron) over the main character.....I found the trend continued with XII though because I wasn't a fan of Vaan either for pretty much the same reasons

I hated Tidus, he was whiney, and irritating and he just fell in love with Yuna like -that- Sure he has a good enough reason to be whiney, but...they annoyed me. I didn't like the fact that he was the narrator all the bloody time either, I much prefer an emoish character, like Cloud, or someone like Balthier and Ashe to Tidus.

I haven't played this game in a while but what I can say is....

I could see where Tidus is coming from. He was taken from his homeland and dropped 2000 years in the future. He knew no one except for Auron, which they sorta met. I would be pretty upset, confused, angry, whiney, and stubborn as he was. Also Tidus dealt shit from his father. =/

Well, as playing through the game...I did not like him at first, I did feel bad for him though. I didn't mind him later on when the group started to warm up to him.

I believe the main part of Tidus being so annoying and whiney was due to the voice actor's acting. Tidus did not have a good voice in the English version.

I agree with Cerridwen. He had a good reason to be whiny. He was suddenly dropped 2000 years into the future, and he had daddy issues galore.

Bleh, but despite that, I found him really annoying. I wanted Auron to clobber him over the head most of the time. The weird crap he did (like randomly laughing with Yuna) wasn't endearing, it was annoying. His voice actor also sucked. When he disappeared in the end, it was like, "Jesus! FINALLY!"

I did find him annoying at first, as his voice was kinda bleh to me. Like many others, I did warm up to him towards the end. I'm not sure why...it's not like he changed immensely throughout the story. In fact, I think he was still the same towards the end. He wasn't too loud, but close enough. He just showed a lot of emotions. I personally love the quiet, loner heroes more, and Tidus is definitely far from that. That's okay though - I typically do grow fond of the main characters one way or another...and Tidus was no exception.

i agree with mitsuki. most of the time if i don't like a main character from the get-go i always end up liking them by the end. but to be honest i never had a problem with tidus until i came to this forum and saw everyone ripping him a new asshole, thats when i noticed the little annoying things he does. i still got love for him though.

I didn't actually find him annoying at all until I read posts everywhere about him being annoying. I see where everyone's coming from, but I myself didn't find his voice, character or whining irritating. I thought his character was perfect, really. I think I'd whine if I was dumped 2000 years in the future, knowing no one, with loads of fiends around and people going on about some monster called Sin. I'd feel pretty down if foreign people ended beating me up because I happened to be lying by a fire when they exploded the door open, and then made me work! And if, after making one friend and being accused of going crazy after telling said friend about my Blitzball team, I found myself on a different beach!!

To me, Tidus is one of the only realistic characters in an FF game. He wasn't overly-confident, arrogant, some amazing un-defeatable warrior; he was a normal guy with flaws. He developed a lot throughout the course of the game which turned him into a stronger person.

I personally liked him a little. I dont think he should of been the main character, a bit too weak for me. Square have had a run of weak main characters since Squall in VIII. Vaan would be better as a support character.

I thought he was ok but highly annoying at times. A tad better than Vaan but doesn't live up to expectations from such past characters like Cloud, Squall and Zidane.

Whats i felt was ''-_- No''

Please put more effort into your posts.

People have been talking about Tidus being dumped in the future, he was loud and annoying before this happened. Maybe being the star Blitzball player gave him a shit Im-the-best attitude.

i felt that he was a little loud, that was part of his empathy and so the loud voice was actually nice in that matter. i could feel his desire for answers and all that, pretty good voice actor

Tidus definitely was too loud. His voice grated on my nerves and he whined WAY too much. So NOT FF Hero material. Auron was much more appropriate as a FF Hero.

Meh, I didn’t really see him as loud, well... maybe in the beginning all the way up until Luca he was. After that, I always saw him as a whiney individual, but as it’s already been said several times, he had good reason to be.

My opinion of Tidus was pretty much the same, I didn’t care for him at first and I loathed his voice-over acting even less. But I came to appreciate his character in the end.

I personally don't like Tidus, I got fed up of him bitch and whine throughout the friggin game like a loser. Also I don't like his VA either, its horrible imo.

QFT.

Even the sword was too heavy for him in the beginning.

I liked how he developed as the game progressed, he went from a weak and clueless outsider to a strong and loyal guardian.
