The Tale of the Forgotten - RP

Zeria's eyes immediately went to Vex, the second she heard him stir.

"You're in the next town. And also, before we ask anything of you, I need to make sure you're in decent condition. You took some strong blows, whether you realize it or not...I will help any way I can..."

(time to make this RP run its course again :P)
After resting, Julius put on his new knight attire, one that would identify him as soldier under Lord Taharka's command. He used a strong, light weight breastplate with the distinctive seal of a sword and a pair of folded wings. Underneath, a chain mail and a silk tunic. He also wore a black belt, leather pants and his armored boots. His shoulder pads were two strong eagle shaped plates that covered his broad shoulders and had a long red cape attached. His strong hands were protected by a pair of silver gauntlets, and underneath the gauntlets he had cotton gloves. His sword was now a three feet long sword, with a green jewel attached at the end of the handle, dragons and runes covering the hilt of a 6 inches long handle, and a hand guard resemblances a pair of wings. Finally, an eagle head shaped helm, with long red ponytail and golden runes carved around the helms surface, this helm to avoid being recognized.

As soon as he had finished, Julius left his room and headed towards the Grand Hall to meet Lord Taharka. In there Julius would hope to suggest Lord Taharka to place him in charge of the Black Wing unit so that Julius could track down Zeria and the rest of his team mates. After reaching the Grand Hall, Julius requested an audience with Lord Taharka.

OOC: alrighty peeps! Let's get this moving! :P

IC: Zeria sighed once more and stood up, putting her hands on her hips.

"I'm going to go out for a bit...I need a long walk to clear my head. I can't think clearly in here....I'll be back soon"

After those words, she turned and left, closing the door behind her. She kept walking around outside, her footsteps soft, except for the occasional crunch of a leaf beneath her feet. She was lost in thought, but her hands still were clasped over her guns, ready in case of sudden attack.

"Julius..........."

Taharka emerged from his master's chamber exhausted with the rush of power. Although it was all his, a large portion had been submitted to exile as his master - Taharka assumed - feared the Gem's full power.

The gateway upon the corridor floor began to close as Taharka headed towards the main hall, in which the soldiers were currently feasting.

His condition seemed to temporarily worsen as he journeyed the short distance, and called for the aid of two nearby soldiers still in training, to escort the aching Lord to his destination. Now would be the time where the war would be announced... the war his master intended to end all wars as he orders the annihilation of entire races and habitual lands. These thoughts rang clear in his mind, yet questioned the ethics of the entire situation.

Why do I follow this tyrant? To what end must I face by adhering to his orders and impossible demands?
A sharp ringing began to echo in his ears as his master tampered with the will of Taharka... relinquishing it? The Lord would not know.

They arrived; the doors swung open... the hall silenced as their General entered.

Julius saw Lord Taharka, but he knew that he was not authorized to follow, for Julius was merely a soldier, a pawn under someone's command. He awaited patiently, thinking about all that has happened and about his past, a past that he couldn't remember. As Taharka emerged from the master's room, Julius noticed something different: Taharka seemed gravely exhausted, did it had to do anything with that gem? he wondered, still he did not pushed himself to ask. Instead he follow the lord to the main hall. He stood before the Lord, and after saluting him respectfully, Julius dared to speak.

"My Lord, what is it that out master wishes? Is it true that we are near the beginning of a greater war far worse than the current one? If so, what does the master plans to do with us?"

"Ahh, Julius. It pains me to be viewed this way, but I must inform and advise... as my master requests. Go inside: you can hear what I have to say shortly".

Taharka was aided along his way to a slightly raised stone platform overlooking the gargantuan vestibule. He sat on an immensly elegant, stone-hewn armchair towering above any man - facing the entirety of the fortress' soldiers in arms.

"You are gathered here today, fellow combatants, as warriors of the hand. Bringers of justice, retribution, and order to those who oppose the will of our lord and master - the all powerful! This day dawns the forthcoming conflict between nations, so feast well, and drink merrily... for this shall be a day to remember; your light in the ensuing darkness. War is... ever bitter... and sacrifices must be made for a greater good; which we all work hard to attain. Together we can achieve our utmost desires... and we shall do so!"

The hall then housed the roar of cheering and shouting as Taharka gave his words of encouragement to the men and women gathered. The order was given to resume eating, and Taharka slowly began to close his eyes as he drifted, quietly, off to a light sleep.

Zeria kept walking. It would be long before she even thought of going inside. She just had too much on her mind. Eventually, she got so upset, she slammed her fist into a tree, splintering it, but causing her hand to begin to bleed.

"Damnit all to hell anyway!"

She wanted nothing more than to go find Julius and beg him to remember her...and if he could not...to kill her....but she wouldn't do it. It was a painful burden in her heart that she would deal with. All of a sudden, Zeria dropped to her knees, coughing up blood. She hadn't eaten or properly slept in god knows how long now...at least a full week. She felt like her insides were being ripped apart...

Julius felt some sort of patriotic pride after hearing Taharka's speech, and and urge to come to the aid of his new comrades. "All hail Lord Taharka and our noble purpose to rid this land of its poison!! All hail!!!" Julius cheered with a powerful voice, and all the other soldiers replied as well. Regardless of what they were ordered by the master, Julius and his companions would only follow Taharka to the very end, to hell if necessary.

Julius then stood before the soldiers and with a thunderous voice, he summed up his courage and encouraged his companions as well. "For our Lord Taharka we fight, with dignity and courage we strike down our enemies. Today we drink as friends, tomorrow we will fight and even die in a bloody battle, as brothers of blood and steel!!!"

The crowed roared with excitement, and then the mood of the crowed became peaceful, as they continued to enjoy the feast. Respect could be breathed in the air, and devotion to their brothers and sisters. This was the new family Julius has found.

Damian watched as Zeria left the room. When the door closed behind her his head dropped to his chest. He waited a few moments before looking up. He turned to look over at Vex.

"She's been like that since Taharka left with his companion." With a small sigh he continued. "Poor thing. Even after I healed her wound there is something that causes her great pain."

He got up and walked to the window. He looked out to see Zeria walk off and out of sight. He closed his eyes and sat down in a nearby chair.

"As curious as I am to hear what you know, I think we need to wait for Zeria. She needs to hear it more than I do."

Zeria was quickly being surrounded by a pool of blood. Despite how much she tried to hold it back..she let out a cry of pain that would be heard from even a 100 foot radius. Pain wrought through her entire body now, and tears were beginning to stream down her cheeks. She let out another cry. It felt like her body was punishing her for wounding it so severly, not eating, and not sleeping, all at once......another cry left her lips....

(I guess this is where i appear to the group, again.)

Just as Zeria left the room, Arthvader appeared before Vex and Damian. overhearing what they were saying about Zeria, He explained to the group about the situation.

Arthvader "Just to let you guys know, Zeria is in more pain than what you think you know. I should know, for I've been her partner for a long time now, along with Jullius..."

After explaining the situation, He then stand by the corner.

"Well I can at least tell you some of the basic details as to what's happening. Though now where to begin, I guess to simply say it I am the lase of an acient race, the last of the Kailal. How you ask this is possible even I cannot begin to say, this is because I myself do not truly know how I alone surrvived the masacre of my people. All I can say is I was taken in by my enemy when I was very young, so he must have raised me. This being who raised me is out to collect the gems of my people, *Vex points to the holy gem embeded into his sword* When I was under his controll he tried to get this one, yet somehow instead of me returning it to him, his controll of me vanished and most of my memories under his controll vanished."

It was at this time Vex heard a scream that sent a chill down his spine. It was a scream of allmost pure pain. Not even taking a moment to consider he tightned his grip on his sword and ran out of the room and inside. He was still tired from his last fight, but enough of his energy returned to where he could at least put up a decent fight if need be. Instead of coming to a scene of a fight where he heard the scream he came to something he thought of as worse. There was Zeria just a couple feet away surronded by a pool of blood and down on her knees. A wave of sadness immeditly took over Vex as he walked up to her and thought to himself "Yet another person has been hurt because I involved them in my affairs. I can't keep doing this. I'll have to think of some way to get them to leave, this is my problem alone I must face."

Placing his body underneath Zeria's he picked her up and placed her on his back. Once he had her secure he whiped some of the blood from her mouth. "You know I do believe you were the one telling me to take it easy, and you were gonna treat my wounds. Well it looks like we will have to see to yours first before any of that. besides you don't have to worry about me I have a little bit of a odd healing rate as it is."

Finally getting back to the inn and suffering some very puzzled and inquistive looks from the town's people that saw them, and a very confused inn keeper to top it off.

"Sir what are you doing, and my god what has happened to this lady. Wait were you not the man that was asleep with the group that brought you inn."

"Indeed I am that man, bit aparently it seems someone from our group has been neglected in someway and needs some utmost care. Please bring some food and drink to our room as soon as possible." Finally getting back to thier room at the inn he lays Zeria upon the other bed in the room and lets out a soft mummer, "This once again is all my fault, why do people around me always get hurt."

Zeria coughed and looked up at Vex, her vision blurring greatly. Her screams had stopped, but she would occassionally let out a pained groan.

"I'm sorry......I'm just not...strong enough.....I need to...train more...so I can...save Sir Julius........."

She remained conscious, but just barely. She felt bad that Vex had been stuck with the job of carrying her back. With all of her gear on, she must've been heavy.

Felldoh landed heavily on the ground, dust spraying everywhere. He grunted as he landed hard on rough stone. His fur flapped around with the wind, his whiskers bent over his mouth.

Out of nowhere, a horse came running, and a large creature with a shield was mounted on it. At the sight of Felldoh, he drew a sword from a sheath on his side.

"Demon, begone!" Felldoh had little time to get out of the way before the man swung at him with his blade.

"Take it easy, matey," Felldoh cried, dodging the sword. "What's wrong with you?"

"Demon squirrel!" The man (for his voice was obviously male's) made a quick thrust at Felldoh. Reacting like lightning, Felldoh gripped the sword with by the flat of the blade and wrenched it out of the creature's grip. Grabbing it by the hilt with his right hand, Felldoh used his left hand to pull the man out of the saddle and on to the ground. The man landed with a thud, staring up the blade into the face of an angry squirrel.

"Alright," Felldoh grated, "where do you get off attacking me like that?"

The man made to grab Felldoh, but the sword was placed closer to his helm in an obvious, 'do it and you'll be sorry'- gesture.

The man grated. "You'll die, demon."

"Why do you keep calling me a demon, I'm no demon!" With a mighty effort, Felldoh wrenched the man's helm from his head. Underneath was the strangest looking thing he'd ever seen.

The face was furless, except for the crown of the head and it's back, and the creature had odd, rounded ears. His nose was pointing down instead of straight out, and his mouth had miniscule teeth. His eyes were, for the most part, small, with circular irises and pupils. He had a scruffy beard, but no other signs of fur on his face.

Thinking quickly, Felldoh unbuckled the man's belt. Strapping it around his right shoulder and down the opposite side, he sheathed the blade and stepped off. Mounting the horse, he said, "Well, since you attacked me, you won't mind if I ride off then." Checking behind him, he noticed a village. "It's not like you're far from people anyways, there's a village right over there." Giving the reins a quick lash, Felldoh rode off north.

Why did he come here? What happened after Badrang had called, "Marshank!"?

After the feast, Julius soon retired to his quarters. It had been a few days since he arrived and was promoted to captain of a small unit. A piece of paper containing the details of his first assignment was left on the table of his room.

"Several insubordinates were scouted near the norther path. The rebels were barely identified except by one who we believe is known as "Arthvade". We can assume that Zeria Iiayasei and other criminals are traveling together to attempt an start a Civil War near the eastern villages. Your mission Commander Argexis, will be to track them down and intercept them. Failure is not an option."

With that, Julius prepared himself, clad on a heavy armor making him unrecognizable to anyone, something that would help him on his next encounter with those "supposed" friends of his. The small unit was arranged during the morning: A heavy cavalry of at least 20 soldiers armed with strong spears and swords, protected by heavy armors.

Felldoh leaned forward on the saddle, making sure to ride away from the village to the south. He suspected that the creature came from the village. If he'd come from there, Felldoh was certain more would be coming.

Thoughts raced through his mind as the horse shot along the stony road. Quickly, he thought better of fleeing the village. With a short tug, he turned the horse around and galloped past the stumbling warrior. "Guess I'll see you in town, mate," Felldoh called over his shoulder.

The first thing he made sure to do was to find was somewhere to rest. His hunch about the village was right, though. It was absolutely infested with the same odd people. Every last one of them looked at Felldoh as though he were an alien figure, but none had gone so far as to call him a demon squirrel or anything. Giving the reins a quick tug, he halted at the inn, and walked up.

The inside of the inn was plain, but this was still a novelty to Felldoh, who had been sleeping on a straw sack for more than five seasons.

He walked up the stairs, looking for the innkeeper that was not at the inn desk. Opening a door, he noticed someone lying on a bed and another person over her, muttering to himself.

Clearing his throat, Felldoh called, "Excuse me, do you know where the innkeeper is?"

OOC: In case it wasn't clear enough, that's you he's talking to, Soul :wacky:

Vex turned his head to the sound of a strange voice. For what he saw he was actually quite suprised, he never saw a creature like him. The only thing he thought of was the bird people when he looked at this squrill creature, it was the closet thing he seemed to resemble.

Decding to speak to him he said in a very grim like tone "The innkeeper of this establishment is most likely getting some food and drink for our companion here as I have asked of him." Then trying to speak in a more friendly tone he added, "If it a room you seek please feel free to stay here for now. Though not to be rude I would request you acutually stay here, for I have never quite seen a strange creature like yourself. The only other beings I know off that are not completly human are the bird people."

Then looking around the room and coming back to glace over Zeria his eyes welled up in grief as he battled within himself again, blaming himself for what has happened. Finally getting up and walking over to the stranger he streched his hand out to shake it, "Sorry where are my manners. My name is Vex and may I please inquire as to what your name is?"

Felldoh nodded. "My name's Felldoh. I'm a squirrel from the northern forests; I worked as a slave in Badrang the Tyrant's fortress." He looked around and the cozy room.

It wasn't horribly furnished. There was a couch in the corner, near the window, where sunlight shone bright into the room, betraying the grim mood in the air. The bedding that the girl was lying on was rough-looking, but very soft when Felldoh touched the quilted sheets.

The wooden floor was cold underneath Felldoh's footpaws. The bed frame was made of the same wood, but intricately decorated with flourishing flowers, rising up the bedposts like snakes until the carved wood bloomed at the top. Felldoh's paw hit something, and he noticed there was a sword on the ground. He picked it up and it shocked him.

But he couldn't drop it. Though his body seared as the energy drove through him, he was rigid. He tried to move, to drop the sword, but he was frozen to the spot; he couldn't even move his eyelids.

Almost as quickly as it started, it passed. Felldoh noticed a sheath appear on his belt, and he jumped back in alarm, bumping into the wall. On the section of the belt near his left waist was a bright white sheath, adorned with golden metalwork and a bright insignia that glowed. Felldoh looked at the sword in his hand. On the hilt was the same insignia, a bright sun rising from the lower portion, only its bottom obscured as its rays leapt across the symbol. A white pommelstone was held in place under the black-leather-covered grip by four golden rods, complimenting the golden hilt nicely. The blade itself was like that of a normal sword, double-edged and about four feet long, ending in a wickedly sharp point, slightly curved.

Sheathing the sword, as he'd had an idea he wouldn't be able to get rid of it, even if he wanted too, Felldoh looked at Vex and said, "What in all the great seasons happened there?"

Zeria glanced at the new being who'd come in. Her voice was still but a pained whisper.

"Who are you...? What do..you want?"

She sat up painfully and winced, wiping the blood from her mouth. Vex was still there too, watching over her. Though, he didn't look very happy...he looked almost sad or remorsful....

Vex looked down in relief with a small about of happiness creeping into his somber expression. Then to answer Zeria's question he answered, "Well this young stranger answers to the name of Felldoh apparently and as for why he is here. That is something that we do not know, though it seems as if he means us no harm."Then almost as if waiting for this moment the innkepper knocked upon the door bringing in the food and drink. Oddly he seemed to give Felldoh nothing more then a curious glance before setting the food and drink upon the table beside him and leaving. The drink was water and the food was nothing more then some bread and stew, beef by looks of it.

Then walking over to the table Vex poured himself a glass of water and offered it to Zeria. Then to answer the young Felldoh's question he answered. "I do not know, I didn't even realize the sword was there when we came in. Though perhaps you can answer our question, what are you doing here and exactly what are you? I have never seen such a being as yourself in my travels."
