The Tale of the Forgotten - RP

Zeria nearly tripped, but she regained her footing and growled.

"Stay out of this, Arthvader!" she hissed. "I won't let anyone get hurt, especially not you! You've done so much to help me before, and this is my turn to return the favor. Damian healed me up good, so I'll be fine. If the need comes down to it, I always have a special ability that might work"

She smiled softly, then pushed him away again, crossing her blades in front of her. Though, she was in an unusual stance for her normal skills. Usually, she stood on the offence and ready to attack, but this time....she was playing all defence............

OOC: sorry for the late response. I'm not so great when holding back in a battle. :wacky:

The pain inflicted on his enemy was non-lethal, and yet Taharka experienced a childish delight at the sight of Vex's cringing face as rock and pebble lacerated his body.
Vex engaged in a rather unexpected counter-attack, which the tyrant failed to anticipate or prepare for in his blind arrogance; causing his Katana to be launched with incredible speed from grip. As he regained footing, he was victim to hasty attacks from Vex's blade - and his efforts were met with Taharka's to-date unused gauntlets infused to his flexible armour. He drove the tip of the blade to his side, forcing it to rush past Taharka's body. As it was driven into the ground, he hurled his body with a forceful push of strong gusts over the weapon, with his leg tearing through the very fabric of reality as it connected with the left of Vex's face. It was as though, in this very instance, time itself almost halted for Taharka, as he beheld every event which occurred at that very moment.

Vex's body bored along the earth's crust, Taharka turned his attention to the recovered Zeria... eyes fixated, he drifted menacingly to her position.

"No help. No aid. Fight for all - on one's own."

Vex took the brunt of the blow, but instead of skidding along the earth he managed to turn it into a roll of some sorts. Though this ended up him going further away then planned, it was in the process of this that Vex lost his concentration. His lance seened to turn into a silverish mist, with his hilt remaning where it was, and soon his regular sword took its place. Using his left arm to balance him on his sword and then his right to help pull him up. He grunted as he managed to get up, whiping a trickle of blood that was coming out of the corner of his mouth.

"Well then it seems you leave me with little choice Taharka. You want to play with using the power of these gems, then i'll be all but to happy to oblige."

Switching to holding his sword to his right hand, Vex placed his left hand over the Holy gem housed in his sword. Concentrating what power he could the Holy gem shone a brilliant white. The ground beneath Taharka shoke as no sooner then a burst of holy energy errupted from beneath him. Vex right now could only hope it was enough of an attack to do something to him now.

"That's seems to be a "yes" for me, quite enough..."

Julius quickly bent his knees and gathered enough momentum to quickly dash towards Vexen. While running, Julius leaped high into the air, unsheathed his cold steel blade and landed near Vexen, unleashing a flurry of sword swings from all possible angles. He kept his relentless pursuit as he assisted his new master Taharka on the offensive against these two formidable enemies. "On my sword, I swear you'll not live to see another day."

Zeria darted in with a blur and ripped off about 9 Cross Slashes in Julius and Lord Taharka's direction.

"Don't make me fight you again, Julius! I hate it when you force me to do this!"

She ran towards them, aiming more for Lord Taharka than anyone as she slammed her blade to the earth.

"Full Force Crusher!"

The ground ripped itself up and hurtled at Lord Taharka, raging with massive amounts of energy. Zeria channeled her strength into it, hoping it would be enough to at least stun him...

Seering pain engulfed Taharka's body as he prepared his Aerial Shield to lessen the particularly 'Holy' sting. Being a vessel under the influence of the Dark Gem, he had a slight resilience to the agony - but not enough. The pale tower of pure energy was now tearing at his shielding power.

"How is this possible? How can he... invoke such power... without being a Guardian?"

A sudden earth-shaking movement beyond the pillar of light rushed towards him, colliding with Vex's attack - they both dispersed under the sheer force of one another's raw power.
Taharka released his shield, and fell to one knee, panting ever so slightly - his face looking as though diluted acid had been doused upon it.

"A... a momentary lapse in concentration! Hahaha! Unbelievable; you could even rupture parts of my shielding magic." Taharka caught his breath, and arose to both feet again, noticing his Katana was nowhere near reach. "Hah, it would appear I have a handicap. Such is the punishment for being too strong for the lessers it seems. And now for my final trick..."

Taharka brought out the Earth Gem and held it to his chest with both hands. The ground beneath him started to disrupt, as if it were spreading itself out to create a vicinity - this stopped abruptly. From Taharka's feet, a shockwave emerged and tore across the ground, hurling chunks of rock and earth high into the air as it traveled at fast, yet mildly lethargic.

"My mission was to prepare for your coming, strange one. My master should be most pleased with what information I have to provide." He looked at Julius, and extended his left hand towards him as a gesture to approach. No sooner than he did this, did both Taharka and Julius transform into the very earth itself, and immerse within the plains on which they walked. It would appear as though this were a teleportation technique offered by the Gem itself.

Next destination: headquarters.

"Simply unbelievable, your skills are remarkable my lord. There's much of this "artifact" that I must understand, but now is not the time for it." Julius said with an amazed look on his eyes as he sheathed he cleaned the blade of his sword with his cape and sheathed his weapon once again. He smirked, a confident smile could be seen on his face as he walked, folded his arms and then turned around and leaned his wall against the wall. He then brought his attention to Taharka and, with anxious yet respectful and calmed tone he asked "So Lord Taharka, what is it what the master wishes to do now?"

"I shall be given direct orders upon meeting with him. Though I can safely surmise it would tally along the lines of retrieving the remaining Gems. We already have 3: 2 of which are in my possession and use. I can only hope the use of this new Gem is allowed to continue."

They had arrived in a dull room of black and grey marble, with but a small window on the furthermost wall. There was no evidence of this room being inhabited, though it held a single wooden chair and a small table. A bold steel door covered the only means of exit.

"You seem rather apt with that blade of yours. Perhaps one day you shall earn enough trust to utilize a Gem of your own. As for now, perhaps you would find use in this facility's training rooms. Not many of our operatives gain entry to this building, but those who've earned it possess great ability. Come - you must train whilst I inform my master of recent events."

The door swung open as Taharka approached it at the expense of an armoured soldier's strength in doing so - it was a heavy door. The corridor they had entered seemed endless, and bustling with activity from the few who ally themselves to Taharka and his superior.
"Our training programmes are very intricate. We do not allow soldier's to fight one another, in stead we employ those who have a level of power over Dimension and Telekinesis to create and manipulate the opponent. This slows the training process, but our trainers are ever becoming increasingly more powerful as they practice. You see, not only do our footsoldiers gain experience here, but our psychics also. I deem it rather effective."
Each door they walked past was open, allowing glimpses to each duel between a man and whatever it was which was conjured. He stopped abruptly and directed Julius to a particularly large room with, as expected, a Psychic. Taharka bid for Julius to train for a while, and left for the conference.

While exploring the Training Facilities, Julius felt the devotion of these warriors to their own specialties, from mages to archers, warrior priests, everyone practiced with the same formality and respect. After inspecting the areas, Julius sought instructions on where to begin, and a tall 6 feet tall man with broad shoulders wearing a full body silver armor and carrying a heavy lance, led Julius towards the beginners areas. In this section, Julius was commanded to unsheathe his blade and face one of the trainees, a man named Olrox. Olrox was a near 7 feet tall strong man, with iron plates covering his shoulders, chest and back, and leg armor hardened by minerals like diamond. The great Olrox carried a huge iron mace, that weight nearly 30 pounds and was as long as 5 feet. The knight Olrox referred to Julius with respect due to Taharka's commenst about the new guy, though he was going to give him the same treatment he gives to newbies.

"Hey there shorty, let's see what you've got!" He said while referring to Julius, and so the giant aimed his hammer to the young knight and challenged him. Julius stood valiantly before the giant, the young knight held his sword with the left hand and his eyes were fixed on Olrox stone like face. "So be it....don't go easy on me....I'll try my best..."

A faint snapping sound echoed through the vast corridor as Taharka clicked his fingers. The floor beneath him began to whisk away and reveal a slender staircase harshly decending into the depths of the building.

Flame licked the walls of the crooked lower corridor, whilst large spears of ice emerged from the floors in sporadic locations. Faint screams could be heard throughout each the labyrinth of demonic combs made as recesses in the earth, sending an eerie chill down even Taharka's spine - no matter how often he ventured down this hellish path to consult with his master.

And there, sitting amongst writhing black streams of cloud, was the instigator behind every co-ordinated assassination, war, political decision, and rebellion. The monstrous outline of a giant billowed these clouds as if they were the very breath in his lungs, echoed voices could be heard as he spoke telekinetically:

"I trust you bring news worthy of my ears, fallen Lord?"

"I do indeed master. The one which you sensed is indeed in possession of a Gem - and a powerful Gem at that. You can see what it managed to do to me - the one created in direct opposition to the very Gem you hold. He utilizes it well, however I do believe he has not yet unlocked the true power which it has to off-"

"That is all, Taharka. So he wields the Holy Gem? The fool. Even with such a ranking Gem, he has no Guardianship over it."
"But... did the previous Guardian not die?"
"No. I have seen to it that she remains in stasis. She has released her grip on life, but her soul is entrapped within her now-decaying vessel. She harbours the true power of the Gem, and will continue to do so until my control is relinquished."
"I see. As I have previously noted, he has complete control over what little power he can understand of it... I could hold my own for a time, but I foresee failure should we encounter again."
"Then perhaps it is time I diminished the bindings I placed on your own Gem, Guardian Taharka? Your control over Air itself was particularly an unstable force, and was oft volatile at the peak of your concentration. Do you feel competent enough to be trusted again?"
"... yes."

Vex was physically exhausted, the use of the Holy gem and the battle with Taharka took a great deal out of him. As he looked around he took notice at the damage, the ground itself was in great upheaveal and the mansion only seemed to have a broken window. He then looked around to see everyone else, it seemed they there was no one serverly wounded, except for Zeria whose physical wound was healed. Then thinking to himself,

"Great looks like there are more people involved now. This can't be good, I shouldn't have gotten them involved like this. I was hoping to keep the true orgin of these gems a secret."

Still strugling to keep balance on his sword now, with even more strugling effort to keep awake. Vex turns around to face the group of people involved in the fight. Strugling now to get up wobling and hardly able to keep his balance he says something just barely be able to be made out.

"I take it you may have some questions for me, well let's get to the port town of Fennith and I'll answer your questions then. Come if you want or leave to go elsewhere." With the last bit of his words spoken Vex finally collapses due to his sheer exhaustion.

"So they have gone."

Damian had finally recovered from healing Zeria. He stood up slowly, the uneasiness in his mind had dissapeared along with Taharka and his companion. The village was free from whatever was hurting it.

He looked over to see an exhaust Vex leaning on his weapon. When he spoke, the words that came from his mouth did not make Damian happy about learning of what he had walked into. He felt sort of grim, because he knew from the way Vex spoke, the news was not good.

As Vex fell to the ground he ran over to him. He reached down and grabbed Vex's arm and threw it around his neck. He lifted Vex to his feet, and stayed as Vex's support.

"I guess we head to Fennith then. He is too weakened to go alone, and who knows if I will your help along the way," He said to Zeria and Arth.

Zeria didn't even hear their words. Once more, Julius had slipped away from her without her being able to do anything to stop him.

"Damnit...!"

She dropped to her knees and slammed her fist to the ground.

"DAMNIT ALL TO HELL ANYWAY!"

Tears dropped from her eyes and splattered on the floor.

"Failure after failure! Why can't I do anything right?!"

Arthvader "I think you might need our help in this situation, Vex. Someone has to knock some sense to Julius and take down Taharka, right? That's why I'm here to help out."

He then turned his attention to Zeria, who was crying. Seeing Julius slip away again was something that both Arthvader and Zeria couldn't stand.

Arthvader "Don't worry, Zeria, we'll bring him back. You can count on me. I'll make sure about that, even if it will cost me my own life."

"No, Arthvader..." her voice said softly. "If anyone will be dying to save Julius, it will be me. I can't lose another comrade, Arth, I just can't"

She stood up and walked over to Arthvader and the others.

"Let's go...the more we waste time, the bigger chance there is that Julius is going to slip from our grasp and so will Lord Taharka. I don't trust that man...he's not as innocent as he makes himself out to be. And these gems intrigue me.......let's go!"

As he heard what Zeria said to him, He remembers that Zeria has been searching for Julius for a long time, and is still continuing. Also, The gems might also seem to be in some connections with what has occured the past few days.

Arthvader "Alight, Zeria, Let's get going. we need to get Julius and find out the mysteries behind the gems."

Several hours were spent, and Julius was almost worn out due to his non stopping battle against his powerful opponent. The bone shattering blows that were directed to Julius' body were barely eluded by our young hero, and it would take him more than quick moves to keep it up. As soon as he saw an opening in his opponent's defenses, Julius unleashed everything he's got in a devastating attack, he lunged his sword to his opponent's right shoulder armor. The piece of equipment was pierced by Julius' blade, making his opponent to drop the axe he was wielding. The edge of Julius' opponent's weapon feel heavy on the ground, and the opponent felt drawn to step back and stop the duel.

"You are strong, someday you will succeed in life...now go kid and take a bath. Dinner time is almost here..."
The tall man saluted Julius with much respect, then he picked his weapon and left to his chambers. Julius was left alone, but after much meditation about the previous encounter, the young hero decided that it was time for a bath and maybe for a nap.

Sylar walked the path to Fennith, carrying Vex on his back. The whole way there he was silent. He could only imagine what he would learn when the group reached their destination. All he could imagine was that someone was preparing for an unknown war.

It did not take to long to get to Fennith. He had traveled there many times, and knew all the roads that led there. This place still held a light to it. It was still full of life; at least compared to Daziel.
He headed toward a nearby inn and entered.

"We need a room for the night." Those were the first words he said since Vex had colapsed.

"Yes sir," the innkeeper replied. "Just follow me. We have plenty of room tonight."

They followed behind him toward the back of the building. The innkeeper opened up a door and let then inside. Before leaving the, he asked, "Is your friend alright?"
Damian looked over to him with a soft expression before answering: "He will be okay. If we could have some water we will be set for now."

"Yes sir."

The innkeeper gave a short bow and left them.

"So now that we are here, i guess we wait for Vex to awaken so we can get some answers."

Zeria leaned against the wall, frowning. She looked rather angry almost, and seemed to have been broken from a trail of thought.

"Yes...I have many things I must ask him, but not until he is ready to say them. His condition is of top priority, next to finding Julius........."

At that, she closed her eyes and resumed losing herself in thought once more.

Vex was in a world of his dreams, and currently right now he was in thought about Lord Taharka and how he managed to have two of the gems. Finally after what seemes like hours on end he felt himself waking up to notice that he was in a hotel room. As his senses slowly returned to him he could hear the slight sound of the waves crashing aganist something, indicating to him they were in a port town. "So it seems like they took me here after all, well if however is here now I guess they deserve to know what's really going on."

He looked around him room his vision still a little blurry from him just waking up. He could only make out two people so far Sylar, and Zeria both who just seemed to be waiting there as if for something. Finally proping himself up with one hand so he was sitting up right on his bed so his feet were on the ground he ask, "So where are we now, and what questions do you have off me?"
