The Calling of Opposites

Chapter 1: The Beginning

The world had been at peace for millennia, all nations united under the rule of an emperor, granting prosperity to all who lived in this world. Nobody fought, stole or even killed one another. Lift as everyone knew it was stable, predictable and most of all, easy. However, beneath this veil of hope lay a dark shadow, contained within the Galtaean Empire, unnoticed yet very much a threat to the peace that had long covered the world. Only very few had suspicions of this. Within the Galtaean Empire’s wide arms of rule lay numerous villages, towns and entire cities and yet very few even noticed their existence. The Empire’s arms spread wide but covered little, leading to the outer villages being the more primitive, violent and crime filled with no use of discipline nor respect.

It was in these small villages that those whose destiny it was to end the coming evil, this destiny being thrust upon them. Unknowing of this they would soon either join forces or fight amongst themselves, regardless it was the destiny of light to cut through the darkness. With this belief in mind, they would soon be set on this path to follow, whether it leads them to darkness or to light will be up to them but all would be decided in time.

With all the gears set in motion, the tales of these so far unknown heroes will now begin…
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

The sun beat down on the beaten soil of Nahlu village, Damon Roughley awoke as the sunlight hit his room. Slowly crawling out of bed he disgracefully fell onto his bedroom floor. Waking up more from the impact he slowly got to his feet and started getting dressed. He wore a dark blue long sleeved shirt, a pair of light brown pants and leather boots. His hair was almost jet black and semi-length, kept tied at the back to stop it going all over the place, he stood 6“2 and weighed very little, roughly 150 lbs. He left his sword in his room and went downstairs to make breakfast, considering how poor the village was, not much was available to offer in variety, as such Damon stuck to porridge, the one thing the village had untold amounts of. After eating he left the house, to be quickly greeted by a tackle to the ground. “Hey! What the hell? DANNY!” roughly pushing his friend off him he got to his feet, with Danny following shortly after. “Hah, sorry dude, FAR too easy. And I thought you liked me taking you down?” Danny teased. His friend, Danny wore a dark brown baggy jacket and mud brown trousers, as well as real mud from the ground. His hair was dark brown, short and very scruffy, he stood at 5“11 and weighed roughly 170 lbs, yet was less strong than Damon. Damon sighed before walking through to the village square “Why is there nothing to do around here?” Damon complained “that’s the way it is in a village this small, do I need to tell you a thousand times?” Danny joked. Slowly walking past the numerous houses, merchants and children running around they eventually saw a familiar face through the crowds, almost unnoticeable thanks to her small size.

“Hey Micci” Danny and Damon said together, “Hey guys!” She called back, cheerfully. Micci wore a light red shirt and pink shorts, her skin was fairly tanned and her hair was jet black, and reached down to the bottom of her back. She was quite petite, at 5”4 and weighed roughly 100 lbs, she had an undeniable cuteness to her which drew people to her. “What you up to today, Micci?” Damon asked “Oh just the usual, getting food and stuff for my mother while she tends the house” Micci replied “Ah, same old still, eh?” Damon laughed. “Yeah, anyway I’d best get moving, see ya!” Micci called as she ran past, eager to get her work done. “Same old Micci, eh Damon?” Danny half whispered, nudging him lightly with his shoulder. Damon ignored it and carried on walking through the village, until the boredom eventually pushed him too much “ARGH! I’m SO bored! Hey Danny, you up for the usual? I’m bored stiff out here!” Damon half shouted at his friend. “Haha, you always did know how to make me smile, sure thing” Danny said while winking. The two of them quickly ran into their houses to get ready.

An hour later the two of them met a ways out of the village where the land was flat and no animals dwelled. They both had a sword, the common sort to be seen that far away from the inner empire. A common 5ft sword, double edged with no interesting quality to it. “You ready to get pounded again?” Damon taunted. “This time it’ll be different” Danny replied. They both grabbed their swords in both hands and charged at each other, both going for an overhead blow they quickly clashed blades. Damon having the upper hand thanks to his strength. Danny however, kicked him in the stomach, forcing him back while aiming a slash at his gut. Damon quickly jumped back, recovering from the kick and tried to hit in an upper horizontal slash which Danny tried to block but was quickly repelled. As his feet grinded into the ground to slow his knock back he leapt forward with his sword in a lunging position, but Damon sidestepped and struck his blade, causing him to fall to the ground and quickly pointed his sword at the back of his neck. “Looks like I win.. Again” Moving his sword away he took his friend’s hand to help him up. “You’re too much of a meathead…” Danny joked as they walked back.

First story I’ve wrote up so go easy on me if it’s nothing fancy xD critique appreciated :awesome:

Not bad damong, good stuff, i can't really critique what with me not being one for this kinda shit, but you certainly had the detail down IMO. Also, I'm getting danny/damong vibes, you trollop

Good stuf -ruflfes hair-

Well I had to stick to tradition, couldn't have us without the gay vibes xD

And imma start on the next chapter after I get out of bed, still need to sleep :wacky:

Expect very shiny things :awesome:

Well, I initially thought that I would not end up reading though the whole thing, I think your intro dragged slightly.
Though, this changed shortly as we got hte introduction of.. erm.. you.

Where I see no plot yet, I assume this will be stated in chapter 2 or 3 depending on what happens in them.

As for now the only think you have detailed is your awakening and a friendly sparring, not bad in itself as it was covered with nice details and effects, it makes me wonder why you cant seem to have the same detail in your RP posts, eh? ^^

Well, I don't see much problem with it, the main thing I looked weird on was how fast things changed from him planning to eat, till he was done and outside playing.

Looking forward to read chapter 2 and onwards.

Since eating wasn't really that eventful I wanted to just get that out of the way xD Anyway, next chappy. Just over twice as long as the other, and a bit better presented... I hope :wacky: Enjoy.

Chapter 2: Meeting an old friend

The pair of swordsman headed back to the village, everything appeared normal until they hit the gates of the village. There wasn’t anything wrong with them but there was a strange smell on the air. Looking around they saw nobody in sight, concerned at the silence they walked in and looked around when it hit them, the smell wasn’t any ordinary run-of-the-mill village smell… It was blood. The smell was strong enough to make you sick to the stomach, holding it together the pair nodded to each other to split up and search for survivors.

Looking around they both noticed bodies, all covered with slash and stab wounds. Their faces left in a state of shock. Just before they could gather the bodies and bury them respectfully they heard a dull thud, quiet at first but slowly getting louder. Quickly sticking together in the centre they tried to figure out where the sound was coming from. Their answer was quickly discovered as a monster appeared to the west, charging towards them. Possibly drawn by the strong scent of blood. As it approached they picked out details of it’s appearance. It was covered from head to toe with hard black scales and had a large tail with what looked like a boulder attached. The size itself looked around 14ft tall. In it’s hand was a large stone ‘club’ roughly half it’s size and it seemed almost unharmable, let alone killable.

“Er… Plan of action?”

“I dunno Damon, you tell me!”

“Improvise?”

In their panic the monster had entered the village, holding their swords at the ready they waited for it to charge. Seeing it stand there, waiting for them the two hot-headed swordsmen ran towards it, swords held in both hands and pointed at the monster. Even as they struck it’s hard scales it stood there, motionless. The two continued to try and inflict harm to no avail, eventually the pair struck it’s legs at the back at the same time, causing it to topple over. Giving each other a thumbs up and a wink they both walked from it when they heard a rumble behind them, just as they turned the monster swung it’s club at them, only dodging it with a quick dive backwards.

“How the hell do we kill this thing? Our swords are bloody useless!”

“You two still can’t do anything without me, can you?”

Turning to try and find the owner of the voice, they looked to one of the last houses left standing to see a woman in a martial arts robe standing there, she looked 5”6 and seemed to be fairly lightweight with, as both boys failed not to notice, an impressive bust. Quickly taking their eyes off her and getting up she then jumped down right in front of them.

“How useless are you pair? I come back here to see what had happened here and I find you two getting screwed over by THIS?”

The young woman let out a deep sigh and placed a hand to her head.

“And who are you exactly?”

“God, you don’t remember? Fine, we take care of this, then I pound you for forgetting me, that goes to both of you. And since I’m so nice I’ll tell you it’s weakness, this guy may look tough, but everything big like this has a weakness and it HURTS when you strike it. Since I’m the most agile one here no doubt, I’ll go hit it. What I want you two to do is kill it when I do, is that manageable for you?”

“Yes ma’am!”

Danny and Damon didn’t remember who she was, but obviously she knew them, she seemed to know a fair bit about monsters so it was best they followed her advice. Before they could react the young woman had charged in, jumping on the club as the monster tried to smack her aside, then as it tried to grab her off the club she jumped onto it’s arm and quickly ran up the arm to the back of the neck.

“Ok! Now when I hit it, hit that same spot with your swords!”

The two nodded in agreement and then the woman gave a sharp kick to the back of it’s neck, causing it to fall to the floor, seeing a glowing area where the kick had been they both stabbed their swords into it. The monster screamed out in pain for a few seconds before falling flat on the ground.

“How the hell did you know that?”

“C’mon, it was easy. Have you never studied monster behaviour and tactics?”

The two young men tilted their heads at this, to which the woman let out another sigh.

“It’s a class that teaches you about different monster types, how to exploit weaknesses and the like. Honestly, with how crazy you were to be soldiers as kids I’d expect you to know at least that much”

“Hey- that’s right, how do you know us?”

“I’m only your childhood friend, you pair of morons!”

“WHAT!?”

“Yeah, don’t you remember me? Vikki Solstice? Ring any bells yet?”

The pair of them eyed her up and down until they ended up recognising her, taken aback with shock they tried their best to conform themselves.

“Ohhhhh, so it IS you!

“Yeah, you recognise me know? Dumbarses”

Vikki Solstice then walked over to them and embraced Danny and Damon, which they returned in kind.

“And Damon… You do know that’s not my back don’t you?”

Vikki aimed a swift knee to Damon’s chest, bringing him to the floor without causing too much pain.

“Same old Damon, bloody perv.”

“Aw c’mon! It was worth it!”

After a few minutes of coughing and catching his breath, Damon got up to join the two who were standing at the gate to the village.

“So, I guess this is goodbye to our hometown, guess we’d better head somewhere else to live, you know anywhere Vikki?”

“Only one, but it requires us to go downstream, hopefully the old raft is still in use, we coul use that and to my recollection there’s a city there. But we won’t know more until we reach the river… Letu River I believe.”

“Letu River, got it. Suppose we’d better bury the villagers and then leave before another monster shows up…”

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

So, now Vikki has entered the story and joined Danny and Damon, will everything go according to plan? Find out next time :awesome:

My first official post here! :awesome:

Loving the whole Danny/Damon friendship and Vikster's unannounced entrance into the story. I can't wait to see the rest of this unfold. From what you've told me, it seems like it's gonna be epic. Glad you've spaced things out a bit more from the first chapter, just about managed to read that and I was delighted to see it was easier to read the second one.

Keep 'em coming, Damon!

Chapter 3: Destiny’s hand guides

Leaving the now dead village behind them the three headed to the start of the river, all keeping quiet to themselves considering the incident. The journey passed silently but the smell of blood laid heavy on them, sickening them as they walked. As they started to enter the grasslands the river came into view, with it was a small wooden platform with a raft left there, as was customarily prepared by the Dojo Vikki attended. Reaching the raft, they almost silently prepared it on the calm river, once set they all got on the raft and set it to the water. They took 2 oars and Danny and Damon slowly guided the raft down the river.
However, Vikki wouldn’t budge.

“Hey Vikki, you coming or what?”

As Damon asked he held his hand out to her, but all Vikki did was cross her arms and turn her head.

“Er, Vikki? Heh, you giving us the silent treatment? Hey Danny, ready?”

The pair of them then grabbed her arms and tried to drag Vikki onto the raft, however Vikki jumped up as they pulled her and put her feet on their faces, kicking them to the ground. The pair appeared to have been knocked out cold. Being the caring type, Vikki quickly knelt over them to see if they were alright. However, that was what they planned on, grabbing her arms again they dragged her onto the raft and quickly kicked off of the ground and into the water. Instead of a laugh however, what the two young men received was a hard slap across the face.

“YOU ARSEHOLES! Are you that bloody stupid that you forgot I’m prone to seasickness!?”

Vikki aimed a punch at the pair but relented with a growl and turned her back on them, as they awkwardly guided the raft down river.

As the silence began to eat at them, Damon attempted to break the ice.

“So Vikki, why did you come to the village all of a sudden, you’ve been gone for near on 10 years, why turn up suddenly?”
“Well, the dojo got attacked by soldiers, we fought them off but a few got away. I expect those few slew the villagers. When I went to pursue them that’s when I saw you two”

The two tilted their heads slightly, not knowing what to say, so they shrugged it off and kept rowing, seeing the awkward silence, Vikki tried to start conversation this time.

“So, what have you two been doing these past 10 years? You still haven’t filled me in”

The hair scratched their heads awkwardly, until a few awkward seconds and Danny spoke first.

“Well we’ve… Been training I guess, not a lot happens in a village this size so there was no better way to pass the time. Oh! And Damon made friends with a girl there, Micci”

Vikki was quite shocked at this, Damon, as far as she was concerned always had a one track mind, so why would Damon label this girl his ‘friend’? Intrigued, Vikki questioned this.

“So, Damon made a friend with a girl he didn’t want to sleep with, has Damon finally hit maturity?” Vikki half mocked.
“I-I-it’s not like that, just sorta… heheh. Danny, why did you have to blurt this out!?”
“H-Hey! Why blame me? It’s true!”
“That’s not the point!”
“Why are you so defensive? Geez”

By this point Vikki had got up, bored of them arguing she grabbed both their heads and knocked them together.

“Ow! Vikki what was that for!?” they both yelled in anger
“Try steering! We’re in rapids!” Vikki shouted, half in a panic

The two boys stared ahead, and indeed they were in rapids. Paying strong attention to the water they desperately tried to steer between the rocks as the raft slowly took a beating.

“How the hell could there be rapids? This river has been calm for over a century!” Damon shouted, in as much shock as Danny and Vikki

By now the raft had already lost a few logs, then as the raft shattered, Vikki hung on to Damon as they fell into the water. Damon quickly swam up to the surface, Vikki had gone immediately pale, quite sick looking. Fearing for her health he swam as fast as he could to the riverbank. Luckily the fall had brought them close by so it took barely a few seconds to reach there. Bringing Vikki up to the ground first he then slowly pulled himself up as well, Vikki was shivering by this point and seemed to be quickly growing tired.

Panicking he took her away from the river and gathered some dry wood from nearby. Quickly he began constructing a bow fire, using a loose piece of his clothing that had stayed moderately dry he constructed the bow, it wasn’t great but it was better than nothing. After constructing the bow he readied the other pieces of wood and lit some embers, then uprooting some grass he passed it into there and blew it gently, encouraging it to ignite before setting it on the pile of dry wood

Damon helped Vikki over to the fire, before asking for forgiveness he quickly removed her robes, to help stop her freezing to death. By this point he had developed a headache so he sat himself down by the fire, he noticed Vikki was slowly returning colour to her cheeks. Slowly getting her breath back she tried to relax herself.

“Um… Thank you Damon… For saving me”
“Hah, don’t mention it. I’m a friend, I could do no less. Sorry about the um… ‘situation’ but, best to get you warmed up as safely as possible”
“I know, don’t worry you big dope!”

Vikki tried to laugh a little but ended up coughing a bit instead.

“You’d best rest up when you’ve warmed up again and your clothes dry”
“What about you though? Aren’t you going to warm up?”
“You’re my main priority right now. When you’re safe I’ll get myself warmed up”

Damon gave Vikki a wink of reassurance, after a few minutes he suddenly felt a chill run through him, he began violently shaking and fell to the ground. His vision quickly became dark as he heard Vikki call out his name, but had no means to call back.

“Where the hell am I?”

As if in answer a female voice began to speak directly into his mind.

“Greetings, Warrior of Leadership”
“Excuse me? Who are you? And what am I doing here?”
“You are one of the chosen, destined to either save the world, or see it destroyed. Your gift of care and affection towards your allies has prompted you here today”
“Er… Okay…”
“There is only one task I wish of you, to determine whether you choose the path of light, or darkness. There can be no middle path. I require you to save me, I speak to you in dream and I beg of you to rescue me from the great tower. I know not more but please, you have to find it and rescue me, or forever doom us all.”

Before Damon could answer he felt himself get pushed back out, when he returned to the real world he opened his eyes to see Vikki knelt over him, lightly slapping his face, trying to wake him up.

“Whoa, never expected to see you take such a shine to me”
“You idiot! Do you know how worried I was!? You insensitive bastard!”

Before Damon could explain Vikki had got off of him and stormed to the other side of the campfire, grabbing her clothes which were dry by now. On this signal Damon took his own wet clothes off and waited for them to dry, by now the fire had kept him pretty warm.

“So, what happened?” Vikki asked, dressing herself while trying to avoid silence
“Well, I dunno if this was a dream or not but apparently I’m some leader and I have to save some girl from a tower”
“Hahaha! That sounds like a fairy tale! That was SO a dream, you plank!”
“Heh, you’re probably right on that one, anyway lets get some rest and we can move out tomo- Wait, where’s Danny? I just realised he’d not with us yet. You don’t think he-?”
“Calm down Damon, Danny can handle himself. He’s probably gone ahead already, thinking we have too. Besides there’s cities nearby, someone’s bound to have seen him”

Taking this reassurance to heart, Damon put on his now near-dry clothes and laid down to sleep, with Vikki following after.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

And there goes chapter 3, so where has Danny ended up and who was the owner of the mysterious voice? Only time will tell! /different colour ftw

Another chapter done, eh? ^^

I have to say I laughed at the way that Damon and Danny tricked Vikki onto the raft, I laughed.
In this case I think it would have been great to have this as a movie. *looks towards Vikki's naked body*

*cough*

I mean.... good chapter... ehe... ^^;

Hilarious chapter! Meh wonders who the voice is, too. Vikki had me in stitches when she was scolding Damon. Keep 'em coming! :wacky:

Sorry for the huge delay, writers block sucks D: anyway, here’s chapter 4

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter 4: The Ties Unbind

As sunlight bathed the area in warmth and light, Damon and Vikki slowly arose from sleep, after stretching their arms they slowly got to their feet. Extinguishing the flames of their ‘campsite’ Damon walked over to a high-ish hill, from beyond he could see a large castle town a short ways away. The area seemed to be completely made of stone, even the town had numerous stony features covering it, surrounded by a fairly high stone wall. Before them was a gate with a guard posted.

“Hey Vikki, come look! To think we were that close to a town”
“What’s that?”

Vikki climbed the hill to stand on Damon’s right.

“Seems so, well we’ll be safer in there than out here right now, lets head in and take a look”

Vikki then grabbed Damon’s hand and started pulling him down the hill, breaking into a run towards the gate with Damon struggling to keep up.

“Whoa! What’s the hurry Vikki?”
“If my hunch is right, we’d best get inside quickly!”

As they approached the guard, he was naturally wary of the two that seemingly charged towards him.

“What business do you have here in Zestria, Kingdom of Mark Renaline?”
“We seek passage within your walls, and counsel with your King”
“Excuse me? You don’t think I can grant a request such as that, certainly I can grant you access to the city but… An Audience with the King? You must be insane!”
“This is a matter of the safety of his Kingdom, you must allow us an audience, if only a short one!”
“Ugh… I’ll let you in, it’s better you speak to those guarding the castle itself rather than me”

After Vikki had done talking to the Guard, he signalled to the Guard on the other end of the gate to open it, then Vikki dragged Damon into the town, as he was lost in his own world, examining the walls.

“Earth to Damon, wake up! We’re inside.”
Snapping back into reality Damon looked pretty lost, Vikki let out a sigh as she placed a hand to her head and started to walk towards the castle gates. Trying to catch up Damon half ran after Vikki, arriving at the castle gates Vikki started talking to the Guards.
“I’m sorry Miss but orders are orders, we can’t let you in!”
“Look, this is a matter of the safety of your Kingdom! Stand aside and let us see the King!”
“The safety of the King? Only two things interest me, and that is the safety of the Kingdom and His Majesty”

Damon and Vikki both looked beyond the Guards, the left gate opened and emerged a blonde man, at least 20 in age and stood 6ft tall, the man wore a steel breastplate which covered most of his chest and his upper abdominal area. He also wore a spiked shaped brass shoulder pad covering his right arm and shoulder. His hair was below-the-shoulder length which was neatly brushed and groomedwith equal partings on the left and right which were laid over his chest. The man was well build with toned muscle on his arms and clear muscle on his torso and legs. He wore a black cape. On the back of his cape was in black ink; the images of two angels, standing back to back, carrying spears and shields and a cross shaped sword behind them. Also viewable was the word; "Invincibilis" which means Invincible in Latin, on the picture of a black ribbon above the angels, the letters are in gold colour. The man also wore black pants with small metal plates over the front and long dark brown ring boots.
“Er… And you are?”

At Damon’s fairly dim comment the man unsheathed his blade and before Damon could react had the edge of the man’s sword merely a hair’s breadth from his throat.

“What business do you have here? Not common that a peasant wishes to speak with the King for matters of the Kingdom’s safety”
“Um-Uh, I dunno? Heheheh…”
Vikki sighed at Damon, making her look like an idiot.
“Look Mr. Big shot, we’re here to see the King so get your damn sword away from my friend and let us through!”
“Insolence! You dare speak to the King’s royal bodyguard like that!?”
“If you’re his bodyguard, what the hell are you doing standing out here shouting at ‘peasants’, huh?”

Taken aback by this, the man saw Vikki had a point, sheathing his sword.

“Right this way then, I warn you, one false move and I won’t hesitate to cut you down”
“Yeah yeah…”

The man scowled at Damon as he made that comment, but brushed it off and led Damon and Vikki through to the throne room.

On the throne sat a man of roughly 20 years of age, who wore a long black robe that hung loosely on him and reached down to his toes. He wore black boots, the rest of his body was under the large robe. He had light blue eyes and jet black hair which was short and styled with numerous strands over the front and the rest all gelled into a spike at the back. As he stood up from his throne a black cape could be seen as it slid off the floor.

“My Lord, these two wish to speak to you on what they call a matter of the Kingdom’s Safety”
“That will be all, Julius Aurelius. Everyone, dismissed”

On command, all the guards, this ‘Julius’ guy and a young woman who was stood beside the King left the room. Even alone the King had a powerful aura about him.

“So, a matter of the Kingdom’s safety… I’m intrigued, it isn’t commonplace to have peasants spouting such things. By all means, speak”
“It’s the empire, at my Dojo the empire’s soldiers attacked, shortly followed by the destruction of my friend’s village. The empire could already be planning to destroy your home and everyone else’s with it!”
“So you say, but obviously I can’t believe the words of an individual, would you happen to have some sort of proof of this?”
“My village…”
Hearing Damon mutter something, Mark turned to face him.
“Excuse me? What was that?”
“My village was destroyed by those bastards… They destroyed my village in a matter of minutes, cutting everyone down with it! If you need proof of what’s happening then go and inspect the gravesite!”
“Is that so? We shall send out an inspection team to confirm this, in the meantime I have something to ask of you, how well do you know the Dago mountain range?”

Damon, still shaking with anger didn’t speak, Vikki placed a hand on his shoulder before turning to the King.

“What do you want of us?”
“Well, I’ve received reports of several of our troops stationed in the area suddenly… Dying. I have a feeling one of Dave’s lot are planning an attack from there”
“Are you NUTS? We’re not soldiers, how are we going to take on people trained to kill?”
“Worry not, you won’t be going alone. I’ll go too, the guards stationed nearby will need permission from the King before allowing you through anyway, and as luck would have it, my bodyguard will be joining us”

With that Julius emerged from beyond the doors he had left from, bowing his head to Damon and Vikki before extending his hand.

“Julius Aurelius, defender of Zestria and her King, Mark Renaline, it is my pleasure”
“As Julius stated, I am King Mark Renaline, this should be quite a simple task so lets get it over with”
“Alright, lets go!”

Damon then shook both Julius’ and Mark’s hands before making for the door.

“Wait a moment, why are you leaving your Kingdom so easily?”
As Vikki said this Damon stopped walking and turned around.
“She does have a point there…”
“Hah, no worries. Mitsuki will take care of things in my absence”
“She your prefect or something?”
“Exactly, oh before I forget…”

Mark quickly ran towards the door on the far right, behind the throne and returned moments later bearing a red handed single edged sword, with a curved tip. The sword was about 5”6 in length and the blade was almost 3 inches wide. The handle was circular and long enough for both hands to grasp it.

“Here, take it”

Mark twisted the handle of the sword so it faced Damon, Damon took the sword and when Mark stood back he gave it a few practice swings.

“It’s quite light considering it’s size…”
“It’ll serve better than that little sword you have there, besides you don’t look like the type to fight nimbly”
“Well… That’s true I suppose, anyway lets get this over with”

Holding his new sword on his shoulder the four left the castle and headed out of the town after getting through the crowds of peasants trying to get a good look at the King. After walking far away enough to get out of eyesight of the town Mark spoke.

“You see the mountains up ahead? That’s where we’re headed”

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Awakening at the edge of the nearby woods, Danny awoke. His body battered from the rapids he could barely move himself properly. As if by chance, a man in a black robe appeared, spotting Danny on the riverbank he approached, his face was hidden beneath his hood. The man merely dropped a clear liquid-like substance near Danny’s head and walked away, in complete silence. With no option but to trust this strange liquid, Danny struggled to move his hand to open the bottle and drank the whole liquid down. It felt bitter to the tongue but he held it back.

After a few seconds of feeling the liquid fall down his throat, he suddenly felt an intense pain like it burning through his throat. A second later this pain subsided as quickly as it began, his body then rapidly energised and returned to full strength. However, as he tried to breathe a sigh of relief he noticed he couldn’t, his body was rigid at first, he then involuntarily rose to his feet and walked through the forest. Danny was able to do little more than watch, what was happening to his body? He felt like a puppet to his puppet master, no freedom as someone pulled his strings.

Trying to stop his body he found the only area he had any level of control over was his eyes, watching in fear as he was forcefully moved towards a large white palace, a web of villages surrounded it while the palace towered high above. Walking through the villages while ignoring everyone around him he approached the white palace, breaking through the Guards with little effort without killing them.

Danny then walked coldly through to the throne room where the Duke sat, a young woman stood to his left, she had emerald green eyes and long red hair, left freely and reaching down to the end of her back. She wore a pink armless dress with darker pink floral patterns along the dress, which covered the whole of her torso while separating over the legs, to allow freedom of movement. As Danny’s eyes wandered he noticed her wearing light blue stockings with heels of the same colour as her dress. All in all she had a fairly cute initial appearance that Danny felt drawn to, while his eyes focused on her he forcibly spoke to the Duke.

“I am here to offer my services to you, to serve as sword and shield in the times to come”

The Duke, instead of a smile of gratitude offered a look of disgust as he stood from his throne.

“You barge in here, attack my guards, eye up my prefect and decide to swear allegiance to me?”
“Why yes, yes I do, I note your lack of a bodyguard, quite unbecoming of a leader to not have someone to guard their back from potential daggers”
“You’ve got balls… I’ll give you that much. Very few dare to speak like that to me, it’s balls like that which could be of use to me, fine I’ll allow you to guard my back. Don’t disappoint me”
“As you wish… My lord”
“Though you should know me by name, I’ll speak it regardless. I am Duke David Evernight and I rule over the land of Elestia”

The Duke now bore a light smile as Danny turned his eyes to look at the Duke, despite the smile Danny saw something strange about his eyes… Almost like they were out of place to his expressions. The Duke had light blue hair and despite his title looked barely any different from the average street kid. With an open white jacket and baggy denim jeans. He wore white shoes as well, upon returning to the Duke’s eyes he noticed they were almost pleading to him while he smiled.

So there’s chapter 4. Damon and Vikki join King Mark and his bodyguard Julius to investigate Dago mountain while Danny is being controlled by something and is forced into servitude to Duke David Evernight of Elestia. What happens next? Find out next time :monster:

Comment time!

Shocked that Danny's being forced into serving the Duke and typical Damon for acting so cocky in front of Mark and Julius. I really like Vikki in this one, as she's always scolding Damon! Write more soon, pl0x.

Chapter 5: Evil intent

Swiftly approaching the Dago Mountain without incident something quickly began to bother Damon, something didn’t feel right. As they grew closer to the ‘cave’ entrance his fears were shown true. Guard’s bodies lay limply against the walls with their throats slashed neatly, almost artistically to avoid a bloody mess. As they headed in they noticed more and more bodies left in such a fashion.

“Your Highness, stand behind me”

Julius stood in front of the three and unsheathed his sword, keeping silent he then heard the most minute sounds of a pebble move.

“We’re not alone…”

Almost on signal Damon readied his sword and Vikki readied her fists as they kept Mark within the three and proceeded further in. They eventually cleared the small tunnels and came to a large circular space that was a dead end, aside from the ‘roof’ where sunlight poured in.

“So you have come this far… Those who seek the dark, allow me to show it to you!”

All springing into alert to the sound of an unknown voice they tried to find it’s owner, to no avail.

“Try as hard as you like, but my darkness cannot be found in all this light”

Almost instantly after saying this, a man appeared in a flash, striking Damon in the jaw with his palm and aimed a powerful kick to the torso, he then slid his leg along the ground, in an attempt to knock the rest down, while it succeeded on Mark and Julius, Vikki was able to leap over it and almost managed a kick to his face though the man anticipated this and somersaulted back.

“I am Kei, while I stand you shall not escape!”
“I can sure as hell try!”

Vikki then stood in front of her allies and began to engage Kei in a 1 on 1.

This ‘Kei’ had short, blonde, wild hair. Wore a brown turtleneck shirt with white patterns over it and a light metal chestplate underneath. Around his neck was a silver medallion with foreign engravings and he wore a light brown jacket over this which was fairly loose over his arms and was left open. At his waist was a brown leather belt with a white metal buckle, these held up his light brown trousers, he also wore cloth shoes, traditional of Ninja. In his right hand was a single oval-shaped kunai but if he was as good a ninja as he seemed he most likely had other weapons concealed under his clothing.

“Stay back guys, you’re no match for his speed, besides I can handle this goon on my own”

Vikki then let out a cute grin before turning to Kei who had already began a teleport charge.

As Kei grew close enough to attack with his Kunai, Vikki narrowly dodged this with a lean back, duck and a kick to the stomach. Kei, not expecting this recoiled a little and swiftly drew another Kunai from his shirt.

“You fight well… But the fun’s over, lets see you even get close to hitting me again”

Kei then charged again, aiming a slash for Vikki’s chest while the other aimed a stab to her head. Vikki jumped away from the slash and barely got away from the stab as it tore into her clothes, exposing her right side. Without giving this a second thought though she aimed a jumping kick to Kei’s head but he teleported before it could connect, appearing behind her and kicking her in the back making her fall face-first into the floor.

“Why do you bother fighting a battle you can’t win?”
“Are you… Toying with me?”
“Killing young girls was never my thing”
“Don’t you dare underestimate me because I’m a woman!”

Enraged, Vikki got up and aimed a punch to Kei’s face, he teleported again behind her and gave her a playful push in the back.

“He’s too fast… How the hell do I beat him? Think Vikki, think! Look for a pattern… Aha! He’s switching between offensive and defensive fighting, when offensive I can dodge to counter and when defensive… Got it!”

Turning around to face Kei, he outstretched his hand as if to say ‘just bring it’ giving Kei a light smirk she ran in again with a punch, this however was a feint and as Kei teleported she crouched low to avoid his attack and twisted herself around, seeing a wide opening she delivered a hard punch to his stomach.

“Dammit… That was… *cough* low…”

The Ninja Kei fell to the ground, curling up with his hands clutching his stomach in a vain attempt to ease the pain. Julius, Mark and Damon then approached, Julius still with his sword at the ready charged in to aim a overhead slash to finish off the Ninja for good. However, Vikki stood in his path, arms outstretched.

“No! You won’t kill him!”
“He tried to kill us an you would show him mercy!?”
“He didn’t though, did he? Besides, he’s only young! What gives you the right to take his live away?”
“And what gave him the right to slaughter our men!?”
“Ugh… That… Wasn’t me…”

Julius moved his gaze from Vikki, onto the downed Kei, slowly trying to work himself to a sitting position.

“That… Wasn’t me…”
“What are you saying? That someone else attacked our men?”
“Yes… I came here and saw this… Massacre, whoever did it was clearly looking to get through unnoticed, his skills with the blade and darkness surpass even my own. If you’re looking for a killer you got the wrong man”

Julius lowered his sword, and slowly sheathed it, no longer seeing a threat from Kei. He then stood on Mark’s right while Damon stood to Vikki’s right and Kei worked himself to his feet.

“Well, you don’t look badly hurt, just got the wind knocked out of you… What will you do now?”
“You offer mercy… To the one who tried to kill you?”
“Well we’re both still alive aren’t we? You big dope.”
“…….”
“What’s wrong? Got nowhere to go?”

At this, Kei lowered his head darkly.

“No… Of course not. I am your prisoner after all…”
“Excuse me? Why would we take you prisoner?”
“Well I am either a corpse or a slave, will I die with honour or live in shame?”
“Get over your damn pride! Never considered that you might just reclaim ‘honour’ by living?”

At this comment, Kei lifted his head to face everyone.

“Hmm… You’re right… Fine, I shall work to reclaim my lost honour this day, command what you will and I shall obey”

With this, Kei bowed low to everyone before standing upright.

“Er… Okay… I suppose we leave for now Mark? Looks like the assassin got away”
“Y-Yeah, lets… Alright! Back to the castle!”

The group started their walk from the mountain, when they left the mountain though they spotted a horrifying sight from afar…Zestria was in flames!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Danny stood to the right of Dave, while the mysterious woman stood to Dave’s left. All the while Danny’s eyes kept wondering to look over her body, from her hair to her face to her bust and to her legs. The woman just looked on, looking oblivious to his observations.

“Argh screw it… I reckon with muscle boy here I could take care of that stuck up mage once and for all!”
“So, going to war eh?”
“Exactly, Mandi! Summon the generals at once!”

At this Dave outstretched his right arm, as if signalling for her to leave, at this Mandi left the room. In the meantime Dave and Danny went through a door directly right of the throne. Within was a stony room with a single wooden table, stretching from one end to the other. It was rectangular in shape and appeared to have recently been varnished. Within minutes the wooden door at the opposite end of the table opened, then emerged a man in full kabuto armour coated in stony grey with a katana at his hip, his face was covered by the traditional kabuto helm. Behind him was a young woman in a full suit of white armour, complete with a light, white cape. At her hip was a double edged sword, as she was helmless Danny could see her face. She had light blonde hair and what appeared to be flawless skin. Her eyes were light blue and she had a certain aura about her that drew Danny’s eyes to her, she didn’t even look like the type to engage in battle.

After a few more not-so-unique looking soldiers entered the room, Dave then approached the table, at which everyone turned to face him.

“Alright, the plan is simple… Attack Zestria and destroy it, leave none alive!”

At this everyone, particularly the young woman were taken aback, only the man in kabuto seemed to retain his composure from what little could be discerned from his body movements.

“Hmm… Sounds simple enough, but do we have a good reason to attack?”
“I don’t like the look of it, Zestria offends my eyes”
“You can’t be serious… Either way, any excuse is as good as any”

At this the kabuto man stood up triumphantly and left the room, shortly followed by all the soldiers. As Dave left the room the young woman quickly approached Danny before he could leave.

“Please, can you talk to him? He’s never been like this before. The Duke used to believe in order and rules, what he’s doing goes against all his principles!”
“So, are you willing to turn against him at the slightest drop of faith?”
“Of course not! I am merely showing concern for our lord’s health and wellbeing!”
“Enough, you know your orders, to your post!”

Taken aback the young woman showed a sad look on her face before running from the room, Danny really wished he could control his body right now as he was forced to the throne room where Dave sat upon his throne.

“I want you to participate in this battle, there is an old road that once connected our two kingdoms before the wars began. I want you to go there and assassinate Mark, the war is merely a decoy. That blade will do you little good, however. I suggest you take these…”

At this Dave stood from his throne and grabbed something from behind a loose stone in the wall, he held a sack which he handed to Danny. Opening it he saw a thin, curved shamshir and a gun with 20 rounds. Replacing his old weapon with these he gave Dave a slow bow before turning to leave the room, headed for the entrance to the old pathway.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Shortly after Mark had left the kingdom, the woman in the scarlet Kimono from before was stood beside the throne, almost as if Mark was still sat there. The long, dark haired woman stood solitarily by the throne, waiting for the King to return. After what felt like hours of waiting patiently suddenly a soldier ran forward, half panicked.

“Lady Mitsuki! Dave’s army… They’re attacking!”
“What!? Why now of all times… Okay, get everyone ready for a solid defence. We need to hold out for when the King returns!”
“Yes M’lady!”

The soldier ran from the room, more orderly this time and within the hour everyone was stationed and ready for a solid defence. Mitsuki stood upon the balcony, overlooking the battlefield as Dave’s forces began to charge the Zestria defence forces.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

And at last I muster up my mind and get something down, next time the battle will begin, but how will it fare? Find out next time (hopefully quicker than this chappy :wacky:)

Awesome 'Mong, I particularly liked that battle in that there cave, any particular reason why Kei attacked in the first place?

This is getting really good, Damon. You're making me wanna take up the pen and paper again. :gasp: (Haven't written in years, though...)

Chapter 6: Opposing Forces: Part 1

Dashing forwards towards the burning castle they stopped at the castle gate. Mark and Julius swiftly entered.

“Sorry we have to leave you, but we must defend the people!”
“What the!? You’re just leaving us!?”

Before Damon got a response, Mark had already left out of sight, just as they were about to ponder what to do next they saw a small section of branches and beyond what looked like a path. On impulse Damon ran forward and cut down the branches, revealing the path.

“What do you think you’re doing?”
“It’s like Mark said, ‘we must defend the people’ ”
“Since when did you get all noble on us?”
“What can I say? I just don’t like other people suffering. You in or what? It’s your call.”
“Of course I’m in! You think I’m letting you defend everyone?”
“Heh, alright. Lets get a move on, you coming Kei?”
Kei, who had previously stood away from them, stepped forward, his strength revitalised he held both Kunai in an X shape before his chest.

“Course I’m in, lets go leader”

Grinning with embarrassment at this, Damon shrugged it off as he led Vikki and Kei through the pathway, everything running smoothly until they heard a sound. Damon, instinctively unsheathed his sword and held it in both hands.

“Who’s there!? Come out!”
“Heh, don’t you recognise your own friends? Or do you confuse them with enemies now?”
“That voice… It couldn’t be…”
“Yes, it’s your old friend… Danny”
“Danny? What are you doing here!? We thought you got separated at the rapids?”

Then the familiar figure of Danny appeared from the shadows, blade and gun in hand, with a smirk he pointed his gun at Damon.

“What? What are you doing?
“Stand back, he’s being possessed by something dark!”

Kei put his arm in front of Damon as he said this, looking serious.

“What the hell do we do? I can’t kill my friend!”
“That won’t be a problem, since I challenge you, Damon, to a duel!”

At Danny’s request Damon dropped a bead of sweat, his long time friend wanted to fight to the death? What was going on? Dark possession? Before he could do anything Danny had prepared his gun and blade.

“So, do you accept my challenge or do I kill you all at once?”
“I accept…”
“What!? Why are you going to challenge him alone!?”
“On one condition… None of my friends are harmed”
“Hmph… A simple enough request, fine, ready your weapon and prepare to fall!”

Damon readied his sword, holding it towards Danny, as Danny merely raised his gun. Damon charged forward, at which Danny tried to shoot him in the leg, Damon however managed to leap the bullet and land an overhead slice just as Danny blocked with his blade. This wasn’t like the last time though, Danny felt stronger, faster, he seemed to not even remember him.

“Danny! Why the hell are you trying to kill me!?”
“Isn’t it obvious? You side with one kingdom, I side with the other. A clash is inevitable. I grant you, neither side is good nor evil, any who believe such folly have no right to rule. What say you to us taking over these wretched kingdoms? You know as well as I that it’s the teachings you pass to the people that govern whether you are ‘good’ or ‘evil’ not your way of leading the people. That only leads to rebellion, no matter how pure your intentions are! Just look, us two, the best of friends, brought to fighting to the death, is that truly the world that should be wrought about? All people have the ability to change the world, why not us?”
“You’ve gone insane Danny! I won’t let you destroy what has been achieved here!”
“Achieved!? Don’t make me laugh! Those two buffoons were born into power, they achieved nothing but the scraps their fathers fed them, hiding in the shadows of greater men. Despicable ‘nobles’, the lot of them!”
At this Danny pushed Damon back, bringing him to the floor after which he pointed his blade at Damon’s throat.

“I suppose it’s pointless trying to persuade you, the only other option is death…”

Just as Danny was about to plunge the blade into Damon’s throat, a blast of… something… blew his blade away.

“What the!? You! Name yourself!”

At this, a man in a black robe approached from the shadows, as he removed his hood he was identified as Mark.

“So, the filthy ‘noble’ approaches! Prepare to die scum!”

Danny raised his gun to Mark, but as he prepared to fire a bullet it jammed.

“Dammit! Of all the times! Is Dave trying to kill me with this crappy junk!? Screw this! I’ll kill you next time!”

Danny ran from the field, picking up his blade as he retreated back to the castle, after he was out of sight Mark approached Damon and offered him his left hand. In his right was a large wooden staff, separating into two ‘spikes’ at the top.

“Good job I came back”
“Weren’t you ‘defending the people’?”
“Suki had already set the defences, as I’d expect from an able prefect. So I thought I’d lend a hand and get you guys to the castle. Besides, I need to pay old Davey a visit, I’m sure he’ll be glad to see me”
“You act WAY too carefree for the situation”
“Oh I’m serious, just wait and see”

After Damon got to his feet again and picked up his sword he looked on from the path.

“Looks empty now, shall we go on?”
“Sure thing, lets go!”

Leading the way, Damon started a light run towards Dave’s Palace, just as they grew close they heard another sound. Sticking close they looked around. Soon after they received an answer in the form of a man tripping over a large-ish rock. He wore Kabuto armour of a stony grey colour, perhaps he was one of Dave’s generals?

“Trespassers beware! None shall pass so long as the blade of Argor still stands strong!”

The Kabuto man unsheathed his blade and pointed it at the group.

“Don’t think for a moment your numbers scare me! My blade skills are unmatched in this country!”
“Okay… Who wants to beat it up?”

Damon had already lost interest and turned to the group.

“Hmm, maybe if I blew it away we won’t need to worry…”
“Nah, maybe I should just smack it around a bit…”
“Hey! Are you guys even paying attention to me!?”

Argor was stomping around now, infuriated that nobody was taking into account that he was an enemy. As Damon turned back around he flinched slightly, but regained his composure.

“Fine, I’ll do it… What a chore…”
Damon began running forward and deliberately struck Argor’s blade.

“Do your worst kid, nothing can stop my blade skills!”
“Oh? Is that so?”

Damon let out a mischievous grin as he slid his foot under Argor’s leg, tripping him up. Argor quickly recovered and angrily tried to cut down Damon, which was met with an easy guard.

“You dare make a mockery of me!? That does it!”

Argor then tried Damon’s tactic, of tripping him up. Damon however saw this coming and jumped on his heel as it passed.

“Yowwwwwwwwww! Bastard! You’ll pay for that!”
“Oh screw this…”

Mark then stepped forward as Argor looked towards him, without even bothering to change his tone, he uttered two simple words.

“Wind Strike”

At this, a massive gust of wind struck Argor, sending him into the air and blown out into the battlegrounds. Damon then looked at Mark with childish sadness.

“I was just having fun with him then, fun sucker”
“You were taking too long, and it was getting pretty dull…”

Damon sighed before everyone continued on their way, hopefully without incident this time. They quickly reached the Palace, at this point the battle seemed to have turned in Mark’s favour, possibly due to the defeat of two generals. In the distance they could see a giant fiery titan which may have also played a role. As the four entered the Palace they noticed a lack of guards, taking this as the norm during a battle they ignored it and proceeded onwards. After going up 2 flights of stairs they hears the unmistakable sound of metal.

“Who’s there!?”

As Damon called out he grabbed the hilt of his sword and looked around, he then heard a woman’s voice utter a curse at being spotted. Figuring out where it came from Damon entered the room on the right, within was a woman in white armour with blonde hair. The window was wide open with the curtains blowing in the breeze. The woman herself was standing before the window.

“What were you doing?”
“Preparing for battle of course”
“Are you going to fight us?”
“I… Of course! You are enemies of my lord! I shall kill you where you stand!”

At this the woman unsheathed her sword, staring down her opponents.

“Are you insane? Why do you fight when the odds are against you?
“You are my enemy! What other choice is there but to fight, I cannot let fear stop me!”

As the woman said this she held her blade in a lunging position, leapt gracefully into the air and performed a 360 slash at Damon, he managed to barely block it as the woman stopped in a crouched position.

“Wait! Don’t do this! We don’t want to fight you!”
“Shut up! You became my enemy the second you set foot in this Palace!”

As the woman said this she lunged at Damon, who managed to parry the blow, sending her falling past him. At which point the pinned her from behind to the ground.

“Fighting a battle like that will do you no good, there’s no need to end your life at the drop of a hat!”
“Ugh… Damn you”
“Look, no need to put on a tough act. We’re not actually here to kill Dave”

The woman let out a shocked gasp, but quickly returned to her angry voice.

“You speak the truth? Then what goal do you have!?”

The woman had calmed down now, and Damon slowly released her so she could stand.

“Well… We want to put a stop to this war, needless violence accomplishes nothing”
“You had better remember those words, if I feel you are lying to me I won’t hesitate to stop you”
“We’re not lying, what good is war anyway?”
“Alright… I’ll trust you, for now”
The woman lightly bowed her head before facing Damon.
“My name is Kylie Lemix, one of Dave’s Holy Knights. For the duration of our time together I shall assist you in reaching the throne room”
“Heh, that works. But for a holy knight… Shouldn’t you be better in a fight?”
“Hmph… You’ll find there is more of note than my fighting capability”

Kylie looked embarrassed as she said this, but quickly shrugged it off.

“At any rate, lets go. You leading us then, Kylie?”
“Of course, you’ll need my help anyway”

Kylie walked everyone out of the room and down the corridor, the floor was decorated with a large, clean red carpet while the walls were decorated with stone white walls and golden chandeliers, taking a left at the end of the corridor they came to a dead end. However, Kylie placed her hands on the wall and it slowly sank into the ground. After it had settled, everyone walked through to a small, rectangular room, hearing the sound of a door opening they all got on guard.

They then saw the handle of the door on the opposite end of the room get pulled down as the door opened. Then the familiar figure of Danny stepped through, approaching the group in an intimidating fashion.

“I had a feeling you’d betray us, holy knight”
“This is no traitorous act! I seek only to restore Dave to his senses! You not being here long would not understand my concern, barging in and demanding power. The Dave I know would never allow such a thug to serve him!”
“What a sharp tongue you have… I’d best remove it”

At this Damon stepped in front of her and held his sword in both hands, before Danny.

“I won’t let you hurt her! Get out of the way!”
“Damon, Damon, Damon… Always eager to help a pretty face, would that be duty, friendship… Or just lust?”
“Shut up! There’s more important things at stake here than petty things like that!”
“Well… Nothing like a good fight to get the answer out…”

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Back at Zestria castle, Mitsuki and Julius were fighting off the invaders at the castle walls…
“Julius! How the hell are we going to hold off an army with just the two of us?
“I have a plan… Stand back!”

As instructed, Mitsuki took a few steps back as Julius took a few steps outside the castle walls, bringing his hand over his heart, it slowly gained a red aura.

“Shining flame, heed my command. Bring forth a power to crush my foes into the earth’s foundations, obey my command! Come forth Magma Titan!”

Julius then raised his hand into the air, at which point the aura vanished in an instant and the ground began to shake, within moments a sea of magma began to flow onto the battlefield, incinerating everyone stood in it’s path. Slowly, the magma gathered together and solidified as it took shape. Standing 30ft high and 16 inches thick the titan began smashing the enemy underfoot.

As Mitsuki and Julius began to proceed, a ray of light shot through the titan, felling it instantly. Moments later a female archer appeared through the flock of troops, slowly followed by a man in Kabuto armour.

“You shall not take another step near the palace!”
“I do not wish to harm a lady… But I shall have no choice if you stand in my way!”

Julius unsheathed his sword as the archer took aim, Mitsuki looked over the kabuto man as he readied his blade, he quickly took a step back as Mitsuki unsheathed her two katanas. As the archer fired an arrow at Julius, he skilfully repelled it with a single slash of his sword.

“That was just a warning shot, if you won’t leave I shall have to kill you”
“To me… Duty means more to me than my own life, if you seek to fell the Kingdom of Zestria you shall have to kill me first!”
“I had a feeling you’d say that, fine, en garde!”

Julius then quickly charged the archer as she prepared her bow for another shot. As Julius launched a horizontal slash, the archer jumped back and fired the arrow, Julius barely blocking it from striking him in the head. Before the archer could ready another arrow, Julius launched a weak fireball, causing her to dive roll out of the way. As she got up Julius was about to stab her as she pushed him in the stomach, blasting him back several feet with sacred light. Julius slowly got to his feet and tried to get back his breath.

“What the hell was that?”
“Sacred light, while I have it you cannot hope to defeat me”
“You think I’d cast off duty just because of your boasts?”
“You’ve got courage, I’ll give you that… Hmm, I’d even say you’re worthy…”
“Don’t think you have the advantage here, I WILL stop you, on my honour!”

Julius the raised his hand to the air, the rocks around him quickly became white hot, smoking and turning to magma. They then began to float above him, and just before the archer could fire, Julius forced his arm forwards, commanding the rocks to charge at the archer. Gracefully, the archer dodged the rocks, save one which burned into her left leg. Julius took no pleasure in harming her, but moved on and charged the archer as she fired an arrow, although Julius evaded it the sacred light burned into his right shoulder, lowering his sword as it weighed heavy on him.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Mitsuki stared down the Kabuto man, he appeared to not be too serious about this, not taking this lightly she waited for him to make the first move. His strange movements of hopping from one foot to the next as he approached made it hard for Mitsuki to take him seriously. The man slid to the floor and spun his sword, with Mitsuki barely jumping out of it’s reach. The man, before Mitsuki could react, dived headfirst into her, knocking her back as the man tried to cut her in two. Mitsuki however, parried his slash with her left katana while slashing at him with the right, making him go back so she had distance to get up.

“Heeheeheehee, this should be amusing! Ooh the fun I’ll have playing with you!”
“What… Are you?”
“I am Argor, and you’d be wise to not overestimate me!”

Mitsuki put on a determined face as she tried to judge Argor’s unorthodox attacks, seeing him charge her she waited for his attack, this being a headfirst dive again. She narrowly dodged this to the left and aimed her blade into his back when he shifted his body in the air and roundhouse kicked her away.

“Well well well, that was easier than the last fight… I’ll kill you quickly for keeping me entertained”

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

And chapter 6 is done :D how will Damon and co fare against Danny? And will there be a winner between Julius and the female archer? And can Mitsuki find a way to defeat Argor? Find out next time :awesome:

OMG I like the way you have it in a cliffhanger, I can't wait to see what happens next. I wouldn't even have the courage to write such an amazing story like this. Maybe I'll try though. :monster:

. . .Damon, I lovez it. XD Your descriptiveness in the battles and how it affects each character is well written. ^.^ Each new chapter seems to get better and better, ne. I love it. ^_^ And I look forward to the next chapter.

Man, I can kick some butt! I've been waiting on how I'd be written into the story. Well done! :awesome:
