The Calling of Opposites
Chapter 1: The Beginning
The world had been at peace for millennia, all nations united under the rule of an emperor, granting prosperity to all who lived in this world. Nobody fought, stole or even killed one another. Lift as everyone knew it was stable, predictable and most of all, easy. However, beneath this veil of hope lay a dark shadow, contained within the Galtaean Empire, unnoticed yet very much a threat to the peace that had long covered the world. Only very few had suspicions of this. Within the Galtaean Empire’s wide arms of rule lay numerous villages, towns and entire cities and yet very few even noticed their existence. The Empire’s arms spread wide but covered little, leading to the outer villages being the more primitive, violent and crime filled with no use of discipline nor respect.
It was in these small villages that those whose destiny it was to end the coming evil, this destiny being thrust upon them. Unknowing of this they would soon either join forces or fight amongst themselves, regardless it was the destiny of light to cut through the darkness. With this belief in mind, they would soon be set on this path to follow, whether it leads them to darkness or to light will be up to them but all would be decided in time.
With all the gears set in motion, the tales of these so far unknown heroes will now begin…

The sun beat down on the beaten soil of Nahlu village, Damon Roughley awoke as the sunlight hit his room. Slowly crawling out of bed he disgracefully fell onto his bedroom floor. Waking up more from the impact he slowly got to his feet and started getting dressed. He wore a dark blue long sleeved shirt, a pair of light brown pants and leather boots. His hair was almost jet black and semi-length, kept tied at the back to stop it going all over the place, he stood 6“2 and weighed very little, roughly 150 lbs. He left his sword in his room and went downstairs to make breakfast, considering how poor the village was, not much was available to offer in variety, as such Damon stuck to porridge, the one thing the village had untold amounts of. After eating he left the house, to be quickly greeted by a tackle to the ground. “Hey! What the hell? DANNY!” roughly pushing his friend off him he got to his feet, with Danny following shortly after. “Hah, sorry dude, FAR too easy. And I thought you liked me taking you down?” Danny teased. His friend, Danny wore a dark brown baggy jacket and mud brown trousers, as well as real mud from the ground. His hair was dark brown, short and very scruffy, he stood at 5“11 and weighed roughly 170 lbs, yet was less strong than Damon. Damon sighed before walking through to the village square “Why is there nothing to do around here?” Damon complained “that’s the way it is in a village this small, do I need to tell you a thousand times?” Danny joked. Slowly walking past the numerous houses, merchants and children running around they eventually saw a familiar face through the crowds, almost unnoticeable thanks to her small size.
“Hey Micci” Danny and Damon said together, “Hey guys!” She called back, cheerfully. Micci wore a light red shirt and pink shorts, her skin was fairly tanned and her hair was jet black, and reached down to the bottom of her back. She was quite petite, at 5”4 and weighed roughly 100 lbs, she had an undeniable cuteness to her which drew people to her. “What you up to today, Micci?” Damon asked “Oh just the usual, getting food and stuff for my mother while she tends the house” Micci replied “Ah, same old still, eh?” Damon laughed. “Yeah, anyway I’d best get moving, see ya!” Micci called as she ran past, eager to get her work done. “Same old Micci, eh Damon?” Danny half whispered, nudging him lightly with his shoulder. Damon ignored it and carried on walking through the village, until the boredom eventually pushed him too much “ARGH! I’m SO bored! Hey Danny, you up for the usual? I’m bored stiff out here!” Damon half shouted at his friend. “Haha, you always did know how to make me smile, sure thing” Danny said while winking. The two of them quickly ran into their houses to get ready.
An hour later the two of them met a ways out of the village where the land was flat and no animals dwelled. They both had a sword, the common sort to be seen that far away from the inner empire. A common 5ft sword, double edged with no interesting quality to it. “You ready to get pounded again?” Damon taunted. “This time it’ll be different” Danny replied. They both grabbed their swords in both hands and charged at each other, both going for an overhead blow they quickly clashed blades. Damon having the upper hand thanks to his strength. Danny however, kicked him in the stomach, forcing him back while aiming a slash at his gut. Damon quickly jumped back, recovering from the kick and tried to hit in an upper horizontal slash which Danny tried to block but was quickly repelled. As his feet grinded into the ground to slow his knock back he leapt forward with his sword in a lunging position, but Damon sidestepped and struck his blade, causing him to fall to the ground and quickly pointed his sword at the back of his neck. “Looks like I win.. Again” Moving his sword away he took his friend’s hand to help him up. “You’re too much of a meathead…” Danny joked as they walked back.
