This is the trailer for the upcoming movie 'Tekken' which is based on the video game, Tekken. (such as the newest Tekken released, Tekken 6)
So how many of you guys interested? TBH im not such a huge fan of like boxing type movies however, it doesn't look too bad. :D

The release date for Tekken is unsure however, is said to be released in early 2010.

Is the "peoples choice" / main character meant to be Jin? I couldn't make it out from the trailer but it seemed that way. No idea who the girl he talks to is meant to be though.

I'm not sure what to think of this. Some of the characters I just won't be able to take seriously as they don't look like they are meant to, and are essentially boxers dressed up in silly costumes.. For example Yoshimitsu (if that was meant to be Yoshimitsu) just wasn't fast enough... He was only able to move slowly, and it looked quite ridiculous.

It's interesting to see a Tekken movie, but I have a feeling they have done it in the wrong way. I'd have rather they focused on the supernatural aspects (the Devil gene etc), and had all the non-boxer/fighter'ish characters in it too, and have many non-boxing/wrestling-ring environments (like in the games), rather than staging it simply as a fighting tournament in a single ring (which is the impression I get from this).

It might be taking itself a bit too seriously by doing that. I know the games were all focused on tournaments, but there was always so much more behind them at the same time, so that it didn't really feel much like a tournament.

I think I can forget seeing Kuma and Roger in this movie now. :sad2:

It's gonna blow, just like DOA the movie and DBZ live action movies did before it. I don't understand why people MUST make a movie out of good games or animes that everyone enjoys just to make a part of them suck in a way.

Damn that looks really really awfull. Watching the trailer kinda reminded me in the mortal kombat films which were terrible. Games rarely ever make good films and when the game in question is a vs fighting game you just know its gunna be crap. Il watch it but i wont pay to watch it.

Oh dear...

You know a film sucks when the trailer that's supposed to get you interested, puts you off. It just looks tacky IMO. The dialogue, the rubbish tech effects to introduce the fighters, the costumes... :ffs:

And I bet they shove in as many Tekken characters as possible into it so that they are rendered completely pointless. I can see this being as bad as the live action Street Fighter film.

I wouldn't be too quick to jump the gun. :mokken:

As for me, I'm going to leave any prejudice views of the whole thing and wait until it actually comes out. Only then can you even criticise the film. A trailer doesn't represent the whole film now, does it?

No, but it is supposed to draw people in and it has put me off at least. I don't have to watch a film to know that I won't like it and I think it'll be a waste of my money. And if the trailer is show casing the best the film has to offer... then wow. :lew:

That's just me though.

No but its meant to grab you, making you want to watch the movie and i can tell you that trailer certainly doesnt do that for me.
I agree with what graye said especially about the characters, they look tacky =/

It's only the first trailer. There should be at least one or two more that might be better. The jump from video game to big screen is huge, so it's to be expected that expectations are low. But I'm just going to wait and see what happens.

I liked DOA so I think I'll like this as well.

Probably won't go to see it on the big screen as it's too expensive to do that all the time and I only do that for movies that I really want to see.

It looks entertaining so far. I just hope it doesn't get too serious and deep and meaningful etc. <_< I want to be entertained. DOA did a decent job with that. It wasn't too serious and I had a good laugh every now and then.

That main chick in the trailer already looks annoying though. >.<

Whatever happens, I'm gonna watch it. I really like martial arts movies so if they show good enough action then I'm gonna be happy. Some characters looked alike, but Jin is a letdown. And why does Kazuya have a beard? o_O

I have to admit, its pretty good, unlike the street fighter movie and dbz movie.I knew that it wouldnt be bad cuz the movie was planned out to be good, the company that made it,they looked over it twice to make sure things are ok.The actors and actress are not that bad,it was a success at least.
