Team Sonic. I grew up with Sonic the Hedgehog as my idol (well, him and Jason David Frank) and, much as I enjoy Mario games, classic Sonic >>> classic Mario. Sonic might have failed making the transition to 3D, but Sonic platformers will ALWAYS be better than Mario ones. Plus Sonic looks cooler, and his cartoon series are better. Team Sonic FTFW! ♥
 
I grew up as a big fan of Mario (I had a Sega Genesis, but had very few games...but I did have Sonic and Sonic 2). SNES was the first system I had a ton of games for. I only had like 8 games for the NES (no Final Fantasy though :wtf:). Then I got the N64, I missed the Game Cube, but I have a Wii, but while the Game Cube was THE Nintendo system, I got a PS2 (mainly to solve my Final Fantasy needs).

In the end, Mario stood the test of time, and Sonic really hasn't. Sure, he has games out now, but where were the Sonic games for like, the last 10 years?

In the end, Mario and Sonic are both awesome, but I had to vote for Mario.
 


I voted for team "Itsa me, Mario!" because I grew up on Mario games. Super Mario was my first game I ever played on my SNES and I still have fond memories of it. Sonic I played on my friends systems and I was never that into it...to be honest, I thought Donkey Kong was the cooler than Sonic.

I've always enjoyed both, but Mario will always have that edge over Sonic in my books. Mario games kept me occupied longer and as been said before, has withstood the test of time longer.
 
I'll probably go with Mario. I played both of the games when I was a kid, but I think Mario has stayed with me for the longest. Plus, the newer Mario games are better than the newer Sonic ones.
 
I am team sonic, just because I grew up with him. I do love mario and a lot of his games and I honestly really don't like where sonic has gone with this 3D stuff (hopefully Sonic Colours will change my mind) but he was in my childhood and brings back awesome memories so he will always be my fav! :D <3
 
Definitely team Mario. i grew up with the Mario games on NES, SNES and Nintendo 64. My friend had a sega genesis and I played sonic a couple of times, but I never got really into it. Mario games were more original I think and it's a franchise that is still going on. I haven't heard of a sonic game in a long time.
 
Although I do love both (old Sonic games, any Mario game) I'll go with Team Mario because I also grew up with it. I played most games with my dad, who got me into it. He stills play the old snes versions, he's not really into the new Mario games, but watches me play some of the time
 
Sonic team. The retro Sonic games are just a blast. And Mario just seems like the same over and over so far, save Princess Peach. Gotta give Sonic a point for being different.
 
I've always been a sega girl since I was little and would always play any Sonic game I could get my hands on. lol. So I'd have to say I'm with Team Sonic!XD

Mario doesnt hold a Candle to Sonic 8D

Mario games were fun but Sonic games got my heart pumping xD ((in the old days when he moved so fast you couldent see the enemy xD
 
Neither. I played both Sega and Nintendo systems in the past, and I've played both Sonic and Mario games. But I've never beaten any of them and didn't really care for their sequels and franchises in general. Even as a kid I couldn't get into the fat Italian man and the blue hedgehog. I just didn't find them cool, in fact, I didn't think any of the signature Nintendo or Sega games cool. Whenever I found Sonic on the Genesis, I'd swipe it with Golden Axe, Shinobi or Strider. And whenever I found Mario on the Nintendo, I'd turn heel and play Golden Axe, Shinobi or Strider on the Genesis.
