The Tale of the Forgotten
A balance is broken, what once kept the balance is now disturbed. An ancient race of people know as the Kailal are destroyed, except for one. He is the lone survivor of his people, the only one left with the knowledge to bring back the balance. He is Vex the last warrior of his people, through his veins flows the blood of the Kailal and so with it its responsibility. He must travel the world in an effort to find the eight gems which act as the binding force for the world. Once found and brought together balance will be brought back to the world and good and evil will once again balance one another out. There is a problem though, a being know as the dark one knows of the kailal it was he who whiped them out. Now he along with his army seeks the gems out in attempt to bring the world to darkness. This was one-hundred years ago now it’s the present, and knowledge of the kailal has vanished. They are now only a fairy-tale that parents tell their children.

History:


The kailal- Race of people that existed since the beginning of time. Believed to have lived on an island that floated in the sky. When the world was nothing the used the deep magic’s within them to make eight gems. These gems acted as a binding force for our world and created balance. How ever the creation of the gems gave them what some would see as a blessing, but for them it became their curse. They became immortal and could not die. Since they decided to bring balance to the world they were cursed to over see that this balance was always kept. They also received regenerative powers so they could not die from fatal wounds or intensive bleeding. Though they still felt pain and even grater pain as their wounds were healed. Some say they can only be killed by a magical source equal to the gems power or by completely destroying their bodies, and finally the destruction of the gems themselves. Soon the Dark One came along and whipped out the lot of them, and his trophy was a young Kailal named Vex. Over course of years he shaped Vex into one of his warriors using some sort of magic to wipe his memories, as Vex got older this magic eventually faded and he began his journey.

The Dark One:


A being of immense power that controls an army of darkness. It is still unknown how he killed off the race of the Kailai, but legend says he may have once been one of them. He seeks to destroy all that is good, and plans to bring the entire world into utter darkness so he can control everything. It is also believed that he wields the power of the Dark gem.

Vex:


He is the last of the Kailal, and sole survivor of his people. The only one to survive the destruction of his homeland thanks to the Dark One. After breaking free of the magic that bound him he set’s out on a journey to find the gems, and vanquish the Dark One. Carries a lost Relic of the Kailal that’s in the shape of a sword, but what purpose does it really serve.

However if you choose this route be weary, I wont allow many and you need to convice me you can do a good job in this role.

Please not that due to the story line yes changes are made so he fits into this. Its just basics. As its an unorginal diffrences can be made, just please post what they are. Side note, due to Vex's ability to heal he can heal up to about 70%; of his wounds, but not entirely, any thing beyond that and he would need help. Also the more severe the wound is the longer it would take to heal.

This RP is set in med-evil time type era so please keep this in mind while posting. Means of travel are limited to horses and such.

The template is any approved characters that are already made for any ORP/UROP, in the rp section guidelines. If however you wish to make a new one please follow its general guidelines, except no need to make a section on strength, speed, etc.

armor: Damian wears no armor beyond his regular attire. He prefers to have free movement to the extra weight.

Saber- It has a leather wrapped handle and a golden hand guard that goes from the base of the blade to the base of the handle. The blade is an inch wide and two and a half feet long.
Six shot revolvong pistol- has a wood handle and a silver polish.(6 shots: 2 extra magazines; total 18 shots)

skills/magic:
Note: all magic comes from sheer force of will. no words said, but doing so drains him of a little energy making him tire at a quicker pace.
Fire sword-he swings his sword down to his side and covers the blade with fire. when swung the blade throws the fire in a stream up to 4 feet from the tip of the weapon. lasts 15 minutes or until sword is sheathed. He can increase the intensity of the flame by putting more energy into it.
Shield- he fully extends his left arm with an open hand in the direction of the attack and places up a magic barrier that can stop both magic and physical forces coming from that direction. requires concentration to keep up and drains him of energy, even more so when force is applied to the barrier. the barrier holds only as long as he extends his arm.
Healing flame- he closes his eyes and begins to concentrate. his hand begins to burn with a cool flame that can heal most wounds by touch without leaving scars. this requires great concentration so it is only used when it is safe.
Nova form- basically his most powerful spell. A burst of energy sends a shock-wave in all directions with just enough force to knock someone over if they are not ready for it. his body becomes completely shrouded in a white hot flame. The transformation heals his wounds, and makes him so hot that he melts dirt into glass. no real control when it comes to activating it. It happens only in his most desperate moments. Lasts for 5 min. When it is done Damian is completely drained of energy and passes out. (Story purpose only)

Personality:
Damian is a charming young man who is friendly and has a deep sense of chivalry. He is friendly to most anyone, unless he has witnessed someone performing an injustice. He is very brave and selfless, and hard to anger except when a woman is put in disgrace. Honorable no matter how nasty things get. He wish no harm to those that he meets, but has a thirst for adventure. He is curious about new things and places. He is very trusting, even to those that have betrayed him. He holds no grudges and works to bring an end to any conflict. He is a very honest man with little fear and heavy determination.

First Impression:
He seems kind and gentle. Damian is an easy person for most to get along with. He comes out as trustworthy so many immediately feel comfortable around him. He acts so polite that people some people do not trust him or find him overly arrogant. Since he is often found smiling, some have thought of him as being stupid. He is welcoming to everything and everyone.

Physical strength:
He is very strong for his size, but is nothing out of the ordinary. He is able to hold up to four times his body weight on his back (stationary). Can carry a 300 lb object a short distance. He is not strong enough to do serious damage with his bare hands, but is able to knock a person off balance with a kick. His punch is just enough to daze an opponent for a moment at best.

Speed: At his max speed Damian can go 100 yards in 10 seconds. With a light weapon his attacks are swift and sudden and can come from any direction. he is able to perform two slashes with his sword within a second on a stationary target. His speed allows him to block most attacks, or evade those made by a slow weapon.

Endurance: Damian can endure 40 minutes of heavy stress, whether it be sprinting or fighting. Since he does not have armor, normal attacks do twice as much damage as they would to someone that wears armor. On the other hand, since his is an elemental, elemental magic does 3/4 the damage it would to a normal person if it is not blocked. When he uses his magic, he shortens his endurance time.

Reflexes: Damian's reflexes exceed those of a normal person. Without extra armor he is able to react swiftly if caught unaware. he is able to pull his weapon out from its sheath in order to stop sudden or suprise attacks. He can evade about 50% of attacks. He is able to block 90% of attacks.His reflexes worsen when knocked off balance or in cold surroundings.

Fighting style: Damian mixes Sword play and magic. Since he has only basic knowledge of the two, he does not perform well when trying to use one without the other in battle. He uses his Fire sword in order to keep on the offensive. Most of his attacks are angled slashes aimed at the torso of hits opponent. he does not force his weapon on a successful block, but instead pulls it for another attack.If he finds himself overwhelming his opponent he will step back and allow that person to either recover or surrender. He uses his gun only when he is in a shoot out situation or as a to intimidate an assailant.

story:

In the beginning there was only Chaos. From Chaos came Light and Dark, and from Light and Dark came the four elements. Thus was how it happened long ago when two people were spat up out of oblivion itself. They were a man and a woman from opposite sides of the world. The man had power over shadows and the woman could control light itself. Their abilities made them outcasts where ever they went. Both were left alone to wander the world, mysteriously un-aged by the centuries that passed. They worked to prevent the world from slipping back into the chaos from which it was born.
After many centuries, they met on a battlefield of a war which they both sought to end.
When they were finally able to achieve peace in the world, they were married. Together they had four children: Gaia, Pyro, Aero, and Tempest. They were quadruplets, each an embodiment of a different element. But Masters of shadow and light knew that for balance to be maintained in the world, these children must be separated.
It pained them to send their children away as mere infants, but it had to be done. They sent one of their sons, Pyro, down a river toward civilization. The other son, Tempest, was left with the family of a mercenary. Aero became the daughter of a nobleman in a far city.Gaia was taken in by a forest to be raised by the animals and many spirits which inhabited it.



Damian Caulder's birthplace is unknown, but the family who raised him found him on the Arthus River. He was taken to their home in Arion where he was brought up to be a farm boy.
At the age of five, Damian began to wonder of into the city on his own. It was there that he met his first teacher Magi Jennon. For the short time Jennon was in Arion, he would tell Damian about the art of magic. To Jennon's surprise, Damian listened and understood. When Jennon left he had promised Damian that when he returned that he would teach him much more.
As Damian waited for Jennon's return he began to speak to many adventurers that came through the City. He would follow them outside the city and watched them learning everything that they did. Some took their time to even teach him how to use different types of weapons. The weapon that he fancied most was the saber.
He was 10 years old when Jennon came back to the city. he had not forgotten his promise. It was at this time that Jennon discovered Damians affinity for fire. Damian learned to wield the flame in a manner that suited him best. another trick Jennon tought him was to protect himself by using the art of magic.
From that day on he kept to a specific schedule. In the mornings he would help out on the farms. Around noon he would practice sword play and magic. It was during this time that he learned to combine the two into a formidable fightin style.
When he was twenty he decided that it was time for him to leave Arion and travel the world. Before he left his family revealed to him that they had found him as a child. He now searches for his biological parents

Ok man I have no problem with you joining in on this again. Just one thing though if you would not mind changing, could you have him mutter or maybe a hand motion of sort to signify that he would be using one of his abilities. It doesn't have to be a mutter someone can hear. Just like a soft whisper where there is movement of the lips.

Cairn is a middle age man whose body has endured the many effects of war. Since he was part of the Knighthood of Aeden during his early years, his body and mind were always submitted to constant training. The muscles of his back, arms and legs are greatly defined, thus allowing him to wear heavy equipment. His face shows a few signs of aging, his eye brows are slightly broad, and he has a cold expression on his face. His nose is middle sized, round at the tip, as a reference, if his mouth is 1 1/2 inches wide when being serious; his nose is about an half an inch wide. His mouth is fairly broad, his upper lip thinner than the lower lip. He has strong, dexterous hands and wears his hair short. The hair is only long enough to partially cover the right part of his forehead, though most of it is combed to the back. His ears are small and round.

Aging Process: Having passed several years since his last mission (RP), Cairn has suffered slight physical changes, though most of it consist of him now wearing a longer beard and mustache. His hair is also longer, falling over his shoulders and most of his upper back.

Attire/Armor (in case you don't want to read ALL that...here's an idea of how I intended him to look):

Description with slight changes:
Cairn wears a slightly loosen, white shirt with collar with and leather pants slightly loosen as well. The shirt covers his arms as well for more comfort. Over his shirt he wars a light mithril chain mail, worn fitting his arms and torso but letting it lose enough to avoid muscle restrain and speed reduction. The chain mail has no magical properties, and it is used as secondary defensive equipment. Over his leather pants he wears leg armor, which are basically several steel plates merged with a secondary leather pants. This plates cover most of his quadriceps, as well as his lower leg area and part of his knees. As a primary source of protection, he wears a heavy and thick iron plate with steel collar that provides protection for both the torso and neck. The Plate Mail has two layers of steel plates, 2 inches wide, that cover abdomen, the chest is covered by three layers of steel plates, and leather is placed between each layer to avoid over heating that could be caused by the friction of the steel plates during rash movement. On the very center of his plate mail, the area covering his chest, there's a circle with a red orb having a gold ring all round it. The ring is engraved silver runes of "Latin" origin. The engraving reads as follows: "Si vis pacem, para bellum..." which is translated to "if you want peace, prepare for war...". The over all hardness of the armor is strong, great enough to endure and deflect a few piercing blows and enduring blunt weapons. If the main armor is pierced, the chain mail would prevent the weapons from piercing even deeper.

The armor is of a dark silver color in general, the collar of the plate mail is darker with a coat of dark gold on the edges. As footwear he uses brown thick leather boots, with small steel plates for its black soles. His shoulders are protected by wide dome-like shoulder pads with bent edges, if you stand before Cairn his shoulder pads resemblances a wide "V". His arms are covered with a layer of leather with a layer of one inch wide steel plates, a wide tube like bent steel plate covers his biceps and another one cover his forearms. He wears small shoulder pads made of leather and very thin plates, 1/4 inch for reference. There are times in he has a long black cape attached to his shoulder pads if it has not been ragged during a fight already.

Soon after his battle with "The Emperor", Cairn began to conceal his identity underneath a crown mask black helmet, the only thing visible of his face being the menacing red glint of his eyes.

Personality: [FONT=&quot]Cairn's personality is quite passive, yet he tends to be excessively sarcastic and realistic for his own good, hence why he prefers to keep his mouth shut. He hates injustice and believes that loyalty and honor are above all else. Just like a man who wishes to have a family, Cairn can be very protective sometimes towards his friends, becoming a person willing to commit self-sacrifice if necessary to avoid his loved ones to be harmed. He insists that the best battle is the one that is best to be avoided, and if words can be used to avoid it, then Cairn would walk away from a fight with a few words. Also, he believes that the government is made by the people and for the people, and that monarchs and leaders are just there to make sure the people is safe and satisfied.

[FONT=&quot]Personality Development: After obtaining the uncontrollable power of one of the Arcanas, Cairn's personality suffered a drastic turn, with most of his negative traits resurfacing. He was now a more strict and authoritative figure, consumed by the power contained and inherited by the previous warriors who once wielded the power of "The Emperor". Now, falling in love with his own power and legend, Cairn will stop at nothing until obtaining all the Arcanas. [/FONT]
First Impression: When first encountered, Cairn would most likely remain silent to analyze the person who wants to start a conversation with him. If asked, he would usually respond things like "You know the necessary information to avoid getting in my way..." or "Curiosity killed the cat you know...". Though serious, Cairn has an aura of dignity and honor that is clearly noticeable, thus earning the devotion and respect of his followers and friends and when enraged, the fear of his enemies.

Strength – He can lift over 230 pounds with his arms alone, and around 400 pounds by using the momentum his legs can give. If he were to fight with his bare hands, Cairn would deal moderate damage, for example: if an opponent has 600 of health with minimal defensive capabilities and not wearing armor, he would deal 50 of damage per punch. If he hits the face, he would deal 100 of damage. The amount of damage varies from opponent to opponent.
Speed: Due to his armor, Cairn is not the fast type when it comes to running, but he is capable of dodging most attacks if anticipated with moderate speed, most of the time avoiding them by mere inches and sometimes taking direct hits. He can only run at 8 mph and 13 mph at top speed, but it takes like 60 seconds to be build up to this point.
Endurance: His strong build allows him to wear heavy equipment and his cardiovascular trainings allow him to keep up with long drawn out battles without wearing out, though after four hours he would require to slow down his pace and take deep breaths to gain some air. Since he was once what we call a "foot soldier", Cairn can walk long distances for extended periods of time, and hence why his stamina is high. He can also jump like two feet from the ground if it's a quick leap, and four feet if he gains enough momentum. When he has his armor unequipped, his speed and stamina are doubled yet his endurance against piercing attacks such as swords is halved.
Reflexes: Cairn is of the ones who prefer to anticipate his opponent's attacks if given enough amount of time, like 50 seconds per action. His well trained reflexes allow him to quickly react to attacks originally began to be executed four feet away from him in less than thirty seconds, dodging 70% of the attacks with ease. Though when the distance is shorten, Cairn depends on how quick the attacks are performed, allowing him to decided between eluding or parrying an incoming attack.
Fighting Style: Cairn despises dishonorable battles, a fight for him is like an initiation to the path of immortality, and any life could end at any moment. He believes that immortality, the ability to have your name be spoken through ages, is there to be taken if we are willing to fight for it. He is quite of the technical type, mainly focusing on counter attacking and defense, but he can shift to a more offensive strategy focusing on 1/4 counter attacking and 3/4 attacking.

Weapons:
Long Broadsword/ Judgment: This sword consists on a 5 feet and 6 inches long blade from tip to handle. The blade of the sword is about 4 feet long, 1 foot wide and 4 inches thick. Forged along the main blade, it has a 3 feet and 6 inches long plate that it’s made of a hard alloy of orichaicum, mithril and iron with gold coatings that give it a dark golden color. The plate is merged to the main steel and placed on both sides equally, with ancient runes of unknown origin, some believe is "Latin" but the text is barely legible. On the very center, the sword has a thin 3 feet and 4 inches long, 1 inch wide and 1 inch thick plate that runs from the hand guard and the blade are merged and goes to the tip of the sword. The hand guard consists on a wide plate set horizontally, the plate is 3 inches long, 1 foot and 2 inches wide and 3 inches thick, and it has an orb that changes its color attached on the center on both sides. The handle of the sword is 1 and 1/2 inches thick, triangularly shaped, and 8 inches long, the end is round and black. The handle is covered with black leather with golden lines.


The sword was forged mostly with iron and mithril as well as a rare component known as orichaicum, the strongest steel known to man, yet is destructible and has to be re-forged with orichaicum when broken. It has magical properties, most of them aligned to the color of the orb it has attached. Depending on the color, so are its abilities and magic defense addition of 20% to the current element except for the Rainbow Color/Prism Element:

*Black-Darkness
*Brown-Earth
*Green-Wind
*Magenta-Thunder
*Cyan-Ice

*Rainbow Color-All elements, Mag Def increased by 50%, deals 30% extra damage on all enemies aligned to any elemental attribute. Deals normal damage to non-elemental enemies. Only obtainable when previously absorbing all of the elements above.

-On a side note, the element of his sword also affects the types of spells he can cast. Prism Element allows casting any type of spell.


Abilities:
Master Blacksmith: Able to wield almost any forging item, component and tools to repair weapons, armors and other gear. Cairn is also able to craft any item with the adequate tools and components. This ability was learned during his training at the Madabrian Mines when he was 23 years old. Master Blacksmith Varon, a dwarf, was the one who taught him this art.


Elemental Absorption (weapon): Able to absorb small portions of elemental energy and infused it to his sword. If allowed to absorb enough energy, he will enter in a state of “Rush Mode”, of course, this rarely ever happens.


Rush Mode: Allows Cairn to dual cast spells from the same elemental attribute of his sword, and reduces energy cost by half. As a fundamental requirement, Cairn must absorb a tremendous amount of elemental energy of any attribute, and will only cast spells aligned to that attribute. Rush Mode expires after an hour (3 Cairn Posts), and after expiring, Cairn’s sword will return to non elemental attribute, requiring him to recharge his sword to be able to cast any spell.

Last Chance: Able to endure any (non-instant-kill) attack and retain at least enough stamina to stand and fight, but healing or stamina restoration is greatly advised to avoid exhaustion. To ensure this magical ability is successful, Cairn summons all of his magical energy and restrain from casting any spells for at least a an hour, maybe two. (Post duration: about 4 Cairn posts)

Magic:
The type of magic he can cast depends on the color and elemental alignment of his sword, thus limiting him to that element. When a spell is cast, Cairn must wait for his energy to be restored, which usually takes like 30 minutes (2 of my posts) between cast. After casting up to 5 spells in battle, Cairn is unable to use any more magic until 120 minutes have passed (4 of my posts). The spells take about 25% of his energy when cast, consuming all 100% of his energy when 4 are used. Offensive and status enhancing spells take like 50 seconds to be used, healing spells take 2 minutes and shielding spells take like 30 seconds but an extra cost of 5% to be done.

Fire Element:

Enchantment: "Flamma Incantamentum"

  • [*]Firestorm Blast: Cairn gathers heat around him within the palm of his hand to summon forth a flaming ball of energy. The ball of energy is about the size of his torso, and its heat intensifies by the second. If performed in an area with a high temperature, the offensive attributes of this spell are drastically increased. If performed in an area with high temperature, the spell is cast almost instantly and if made in an area with low temperature, it takes quite some time to summon the spell. Offensive spell.

  • [*]Flaming Edge: Cairn gathers heat around him to summon flames to surround his sword, thus increasing the sword's strength and range from its normal length to 3 inches more. The sword is engulfed with a burst of fire that leaves a trail of flames with each swing. Offensive Spell.
    [*]Inferno Cataclysm: Cairn absorbs elemental energies aligned to fire as well as sunlight to infuse his sword with enormous power. Having his dexterity greatly increased, his sword swings are hard to evade for enemies with low speed, and it scorches anything it strikes. The spell also has a long range effect, allowing Cairn to unleash flaming tornadoes with each sword swing that will head forward and disappear with impact. Offensive Spell.
Water/Ice
Enchantment: "Gelum et Aqua Incantamentum"

  • [*]Healing Rain: Cairn gathers the humidity of the air to summon forth a healing rain that replenishes up to 75% of his stamina. The rains also have the ability to ease the pain of cuts and other sorts of wounds temporarily by 60%. Healing Spell
    [*]Leviathan's Aura: Cairn gathers the humidity of the air to summon forth a thin energy shield that covers his body and slowly replenishes stamina. The shielding lasts for 20 minutes, with a healing ratio of 5% per minute. Shielding Spell
    [*]Diamond Blade: by absorbing a significant amount of ice attributed energy, Cairn is thus capable of summoning the ice/water attributes to enhance his damage against enemies weak to said attribute. The spell makes the sword take a light bluish aura with several ice crystals sprouting from within the sword as razor blades, making the edges of the sword point. Upon landing, the affected area is temporarily frozen, limiting movement. Offensive Spell
Light/Thunder
Enchantment: "Lucis et Relampadare
Incantamentum"

  • [*]Sacred Barrier: Cairn calls for the power of the purity of soul to summon forth a powerful barrier to shield him from magical attacks. Unfortunately, to perform this enchantment Cairn must stand on the same area in which the shield was called. Shielding Spell
    [*]Blessed Edge: His sword is surrounded by a pale whitish golden aura, flames of purifying light are all over the edges of the blade, blessing it with holiness and granting the ability to cast away evil. The sword increases the sword's deflective abilities as well as endurance, making it harder to destroy. Offensive Spell>
    [*]Alastor's Rage: The sword is possessed by a ferocious thunder entity, thus increasing to maximum damage his power against water based enemies. History: Cairn Crey Rosencrant Valthere was born on April the 3rd, during the year of our Lord Balian on 1487. Being born of a family of knights, Cairn was raised as a honorable man. His parents, Lord Victor Rosencrant Lancaster and Irene Valthere Isaldir, were renowned for their influence in society, mainly his father from being a member of the Aleria Guard, Lord Balian's personal body guard. The Kingdom of Seseu located to the northeast of Albabra, is ruled by the Aldamit Family, Lord Balian being the head of the household.
Being born a privileged child, Cairn did not allow his status to tarnish the honor of being humble, so he spent much of his time with other soldiers rather than staying at home. As the years passed, Cairn became experienced in all sorts of skills, developing many abilities and soon becoming head of the Aleria Guard himself, when his father opted for retirement. Sadly, the good times were soon to be gone, for a tragedy would stain Cairn's life.

On a mission in which they were assigned to defend the borderline between Aldabra and Sesau, Cairn faced the advancing Aldabran Armies and kept his ground for as long as he could. Even though the man explained that he meant no harm to anyone, it seemed that his previous captors used every mean within their grasp to seal this man and his magick. However, believing the man's word, Cairn uses his might to shatter the stone that fueled the Anti-Magic Barrier which held Alumar captive. Soon after that, both Cairn and Alumar have seen to respect each other seeing that both of these are men of honor
    [*]Chapter II: Fate

    • [*]Almost 3 years after escaping the clutches of death, Cairn was last seen leading a peaceful life in a small fishing village. However, some time later the village would be scorched to the ground by the forces of a ruthless Emperor, whose name was kept in secrecy to ensure the belief of his highness being a divine ruler. The event occured by nightfall, when Cairn was sitting by a chimney narrating his countless journeys of the children of a small orphanage. Some time later, he went to bed after giving his blessings to each child, his new family. At midnight, Cairn was awakened by the screams and the sounds of foot soldiers stomping through the village burning and murdering anything on their path. The ruthless campaign was lead by non other than the Emperor himself who was pleased to show his power and iron fist rule to the territories he had newly conquered.
      [*]As soon as he was clad in his old armour and wearing his trusty sword, Cairn ran desperately towards the orphanage only bear witness how it was consumed by the flames of hate. Losing all hope and will to fight, Cairn dropped his sword and fell on his knees, his hands placed on the soil as he stared at the ground, crying. He couldn't even notice the enemy soldiers surrounding him. Soon one of the soldiers approached Cairn preparing to behead him but then something happened. A black knight clad in a fearsome armour and wearing a long hellish red cape arrived on horseback. He was the Emperor...
      [*]With a simple nod, the Emperor commanded his soldiers to step back for he wanted to take this last price himself. "So you are Cairn. Interesting to see a swordsman with your reputation living among these pigs. Stand up...and fight. Allow me to grant you a chance to avenge this filth and regain your honor. Not that you have much chance of winning anyway." The Emperor yelled as he unsheathed his blade. In his own twisted mind, The Emperor only wanted to show his prowess by taking down Cairn himself. As the Emperor approached his adversary, Cairn began to rise his gaze and meet eye to eye with the monstrous ruler. A deep fearsome and unyielding rage sparked within his soul. Without much delay, Cairn took up his sword and rushed towards the Emperor.
      [*]Sadly, even though fought with everything at his disposal, the power of the Emperor was too much for him to overcome, and he was easily overpowered. With a strong kick to the chest, the Emperor made Cairn fall violently on his back. As the knight gasped for air, the triumphant Emperor walked towards Cairn and stood above him, lifting his sword as he was preparing to impale his fallen adversary.
      [*]Hopefully for Cairn, the Emperor's proud nature and unrestrained ego would be prove to be his victory and his nemesis's downfall. As the Emperor gestured and mocked a seemingly knocked out Cairn, he failed to realize that Cairn had already reached the hilt of his own sword and was feigning unconsciousness. "Time...to die..." The Emperor hissed as he lifted his blade leaving his chest exposed. Taking this chance, Cairn took his sword and thrust it towards the Emperor, breaching through an opening in his armor and piercing his chest.
      [*]The Emperor's eyes widened as he began cough blood.- "How? How did this happen?!"-Suddenly, to the Emperor's horror he remembered an old prediction he heard from a fortune teller-"Though the Emperor is strong and brave, this will not save him from the fate of falling victim to his own pride..."- As he breath his last, the Emperor fell flat on his back still impaled by Cairn's sword. Cairn then rose back to his feet as he saw himself surrounder once more by his enemies. Giving into his seemingly inevitable doom, Cairn closed his eyes remained next to the Emperor's corpse.
      [*]Much to his surprise, the enemy soldiers began stood still and the bowed to what it seemed to be, their new monarch. Confused, Cairn did not know how to react failing to notice the aura emanating from the fallen Emperor. Soon after, Cairn was struck down by an unknown force as the power of the Emperor began to migrate from his previous host to Cairn. His hands began to shake as the memories and crimes of the fallen monarch began to fuse with his own. The intense power was suffocating, forcing Cairn on his knees. Then the lights arround him began to fade and the echoing laughter of the soldiers now at his command now felt distant. Unable to resist anymore, Cairn fainted.
      [*]Months after the tragedy, news spread near and far of the supposed death of the Emperor and the disappearence of a man named Cairn. However this seemed to be proven false since reports mentioned the Emperor himself attacking the northern lands.

 
Well welcome aboard man, and with that being said just to clarify , even though I may already know. Which side shall you be fighting on, Vex's side or the Dark One's, aka your own personal agenda?
 
Ok then well just waiting on bios from Mortel, and TMR then we will start. For anyone that would still be interested yes you still be able to join untill a certain point in the story passes. Which will be way into the later half of this RP, I will make a post both in here and on the story when signups will be closed.
 
In the meantime, where will be the starting point for the RP? Will it be a village, a forest, or perhaps some kind of unique environment?

We need to be careful with this to make sure we are all on the same "wavelength". Like it would be weird if I meet a character and then describe a forest while your character suddenly states it is a city. Consistency is a problem in most RPs.
 
I'm in the current process of getting the city list itself up, as well as where certain gem locations may be, not gonna give them all away. As for starting out anyone can start in any city except two so far, the major first stop Daizel. So as long as people start heading there it won't be a problem.
 
Yea well within the next two days ill try and post a info thread with the city names and what not up. So hopefully this will eliminate the confusion there was last time.

Ok Restless, looked it over and its good. Just as long as there is a trigger motion so someone knows your doing an action and has the possible attempt to stop and or interrupt it.

alright. cant wait. also I changed the abilities a little to have some sort trigger. Just let me know if they are ok. I did not do much to the nova form, because it is an ability that he does not control, and wont control at any time during this rp. it will also not be seen very often if at all.

Appearance: As a somewhat young man he doesn't give off a look of a combat veteran, retaining his youthful looks he could still pass for a teenager. He has a fairly slim build but what combat training he does have gives him a fairly athletic build. He has shoulder length light brown hair which is tied into a long ponytail and an unblemished face with blue eyes. He stands at an average height for his age while also being fairly lightweight.


Attire: Rufus wears a full body suit of light armour, designed more for lightweight movement and flexibility over tough defenses, the armour itself is made of steel with silver designs trailing over the edges, his hands and head however, remain uncovered.


Weapon: A 6ft long spear with a 5 inches wide jagged edge spear hear shaped in a triangle wit ha 10cm long thin point at the top for easier thrust attacks. The spear itself is made of mythril, making it both strong and flexible, making it a highly versatile weapon in combat.


Personality: As he is fairly young he has a strong cocky and arrogant side though his training as a dragoon has given him the capacity to display modesty and duty. Despite this, it doesn't manage to completely engulf his youthful side making him overconfident with battle, competitive with men and flirtacious with women, regardless of who the target of any of the three things is. As such he can appear simple minded at times, prompting him to be underestimated a lot of the time.


First Impression: On first contact he'd probably be seen as just a cocky kid playing at Knight, as his casual attitude will make that assumption quite believable. Though if seen in his serious side, the opposite could occur, assuming he is dependable, a skilled leader and a trustworthy ally. Both being far from the truth with him.


Dragon Magic:


Dragon Flame: His initial Dragon Magic, creates a magic circle in the air as fire as hot as Dragon's Breath erupts from it, incinerating anything in it's path, takes only a few seconds to activate and covers anything directly in front of it. The circle however isn't gigantic, making it AOE limited somewhat.


History: Growing up as an inquisitive and adventurous child, Rufus was always coming home with cuts and bruises from falls and the like. These experiences through his childhood made him both childish and well honed for the wilds. As a result he developed his own sense of justice, even against impossible odds making him seem mature and short sighted in situations that require the bigger picture. It was during such travels that he found himself travelling in seemingly uninhabited mountainous area, in such an area it quickly became dark, malevolently so.


Setting up camp Rufus decided to wait till morning, though even after sleeping for the night, when he awoke darkness still veiled the area. Treating this with suspicion he got on his guard and, after packing away the camp site he walked forward vigilantly till he heard the faintest of footsteps behind him. Assuming the owner of them to be a bandit, though well skilled at concealment, he turned around and readied his spear.


As he turned around, the shadows themselves seemed to morph into phantom soldiers, before he had time to react he was surrounded. Though his odds of victory were low, it wasn't in his nature to give up as he, somewhat vainly put up a resistance against these phantom soldiers. Almost as quickly as they appeared, they vanished the instant that he was cut down, as the light of life started to leave him, the darkness that filled the area quickly vanished, though he lost consciousness as he heard the beating of giant wings.


When he regained consciousness he found himself laid next to a forest with a village behind him, though he wanted to meet up with the people inside, he had a strange feeling he was supposed to wait for now. Not wanting to ignore a feeling after his seemingly near death experience he headed inside, waiting for whoever it was he was meant to meet, perhaps something that would connect the phantom soldiers attack...

Distinguishing Features: His ears are pointed like an elf but only slightly, sometimes it is hard to tell that he has elf blood running through him.
Personality:
Virgil is gentle, kind and clever. He is very loyal to his friends and comrades and would rather die than betray them. Many people put their faith and trust in him as they know he would bring them no harm. In the past this trait of his has gotten him into trouble. Trusting the wrong people and finding himself in dire situations.

The elf himself is also very trusting, but if you break his trust once it will take a life time to get it back. He feels that if you want respect and trust you must give it first.

On the battle field he is ruthless. He will hack and slash at his enemies and mow them down if he feels they are endangering his allies. He will never harm a surrendered enemy, he will never kill a woman or child either, even if they are fighting against him. Virgil is often used as a right hand man for battles and decisions. He will answer to anyone above him in status as "Sir" or "Ma'am" and often gets called a dog because of it.

He will always wear a smile on his face, even if he is feeling glum, upset or angry.

Weapon:
Virgil uses a longsword. It is very heavy and when standing on it's tip, it is as tall as his chest.

Magic:
Being half elf Virgil has the ability to use healing magic, he is unable to regenerate body parts or bring someone back from the dead but he can heal stab wounds and other minor injures.

Abilities:
Virgil has amazing hearing, sight and speed because of his elven blood. Being only half elf means he is not as powerful as a full blood but he is still more than a match for a human.

He is also a great tracker and can smell things in the dirt and earth that others usually wouldn't.

History:
Once upon a time Elves lived in their thousands, they had their own cities and colonies and were generally a peaceful race. They had excellent eyesight, were one with nature and were fast; but over the years humans feared their power, not wanting the elves to turn on them, the humans culled them, trying to wipe out every last trace of them.This effort took many years and eventually the elves became harder and harder to find.

Eventually it was thought that the Elves were extinct but there was a small tribe of 20 deep within a forest. Virgil's mother was amongst them. The Elves were struggling to survive and it was soon realized that they would need to re-populate some how or die. The only way to do this was to mate with humans. The Elves of the tribe cut their ears down like a humans and deceived human men and women into mating with them.

Eventually Virgil's mother fell pregnant with him and gave birth in a farmers barn. Humans eventually caught onto the Elves trickery and they destroyed the last of them. Virgil was spared because The Dark One found him to be useful. He trained trained the Elf to be a mighty warrior. Virgil would do as The Dark One demanded, lapping up the lies he would tell him, believing every word, he was loyal to his father figure.

At the age of 20 the Half blood began to realized The Dark One's true colours. Virgil became tired of being treated as a 'dog' and The Dark Ones Ruthlessness did not sit well with the man's morals so he eventually fled. Cutting his Long braids and changing his appearance as to avoid being caught. He has been on the run for 6 years and is currently working as a town guard in a small village. He has no family that he knows of and has been on his own since fleeing.

I also wasn't sure if I was allowed to have him learn magic so I can remove that part if you like too.
