Those are very good theme suggestions, Dragon Mage. I'll be sure to look them over the next time I make guidelines :ryan:

Also, once again, I have enough SOTW entries, but not enough AOTW entries. So, if I don't have any by tomorrow, I'll wait until Sunday to put up the voting threads.
 
No, I created the text using the text tool. Then I used 2 clipping masks to add 2 textures to the text and then I used the pen tool to create layer masks to make the shapes. Basically, it's two textures on top of each other and then I erased shapes from the top one you can see the one beneath.

If that makes any sense whatsoever. :wacky:

I think the font is called "Lot" or something like that.
 
Well it's been some time since we've had a music one so I'll go with your 'Favourite Song' suggestion for this week, DM. I really like all the theme ideas you came up with and I kinda want to see what people's interpretations of their favourite songs are in graphic form. :jess:

but...unless I can master GIMP in 5 days...I wont be able to enter :(

:woot: Thank you! ^_^ I can't believe that 2 of my theme suggestions already were made actual SOTW themes! I'm much better at thinking up themes than making entries for them. *puts on thinking cap* Yes'm, I'll start thinking up of more right away!

And thank you Smiley, glad you like the theme! ^_^ It is totally possible to master GIMP in 5 days. I know! I've done it! I've got a crapload of tutorials if you'd like me to link you to them. :D

And ya know, I think it wouldn't be too much of a stretch of the sig images were taken from the music video of said favorite song... just a thought.... :wacky:

Sorry, I'm kind of confused about this theme. "Favourite song"? So is it a text challenge? Do we mention the song tilte, artist, even some lyrics? That's the first thing I can think of >_<
 
I think it's just open to interpretation really. You could show the title of the song, part of the music video, as long as it relates to your favourite song, it works.
 
I think you can basically do anything... :hmmm: For ex.

Your favourite song is ... Pretty Woman (walking down the streeet!) You can google like an image of a woman walking down the street, do what you normally do, and place the title of the song in the signature.

Either that, or... Your song is something about a season? Pick your favourite season, and get creative with text.

Transparency is allowed I think? So you could either do that, or just pick a few lyrics, and make a text piece with a transparant background?
