I'm surprised I haven't recieved any SOTW entries yet.

It's only Tuesday. Besides, the guideline was posted late. =P I'm almost done with mine, so you'll be receiving it soon...maybe tomorrow.

Anyone got a theme they want to do for next week? I don't particularly have anything in mind at all. =\

Um, what about...Metal Gear Solid 4, Technology-related, War, etc. Just some ideas that came to mind.

I was thinking more along the lines of something graphically challenging, other than forcing people to use stocks they don't really wanna use.

I brainstormed a few ideas:

Mandatory transparency?
Vectoring?
Default tools only?
Use of light colors?
Mandatory typography?
Square canvas?
Must have stock's original background?
No C4D allowed?

One that's quite interesting is a "Must not be rectangular" theme, but reject those that have rounded corners. Force people to think and work outside their comfort zones.

Transparency is when you make a certain area of the graphic transparent.

It's usually used to make rounded corners and to make the stock pop out of the sig.

Oh! That makes sense. xD It would be kinda fun to do and it'll force some of us to learn this skill if we haven't already. I also like the idea of no C4Ds allowed. I think it would be very challenging, but there should be a rule that we send the .psd file to Derek for 100% proof.

Besides, it's good for us because most of us are too reliant on them. I used to be, but I forced myself away from them when I got criticism from a better GFX artist than myself down at ACF; he said that I was too reliant on them.

I don't know how to make my sig have a different shape....so I guess it is another "I am not going to participate yet" for me

I think I'll go with the no c4ds theme if I don't think of something else.

Also, pentool Julius. Cut out a shape of something and put the image you've created inside that shape's outline. =]
