But meh, I doubt I'll enter for the next 1/2...maybe 3 weeks and enjoy looking at everyone elses sigs.
 
I'm going to enter this next SOTW, I think.

Also, I have a suggestion.
We have a Sig of the Week, but why don't we hold LP (Large Piece/Wallpaper) and icon/avatar competitions? I think that it would be a good way to further boost the livelihood of the section. We could hold them less often than SOTWs if three competitions a week is overwhelming (and it probably will be).

I don't think we have many people who're into LPs. I personally hate them. :wacky:

Though an icon competition doesn't seem like it'd be too much trouble. I'm certainly interested.
 
Large pics, while maybe good, sound kinda more difficult and less fun to do.

Icons be good tho.
 
The idea dawned on me while I was browsing ACF's graphics section, because they have LP comps.

Ah so I guess people don't like LPs then... They can actually be fun to make once you get into them.

Anyway, I really hope to see icon competitions show up here. It's a nice change, and since icons are relatively easy to make for most people, I can see how it would be reasonable to have this competition occur weekly like the SOTW. We're all focusing so much on sigs that we're losing our ability in avataring. :P
 
I would quite like an LP competition. I wouldn't expect many entries though, since it's significantly more work than sigs.

Also, I would say LPs would be hard (decent ones anyway) for the relative beginners to make.

And then there's what classifies as "LP", size constraints? Photography/Photomanipulation? 3D Art? Bit too fiddly I reckon.

Icon comp would bee great though :)

Hmm, I know Mark and Derek already planned for this since we talked about it last week. It's just a matter of implementing it. =] But yes, the idea is thumbs up.

We're already in favour of implemnenting it, and we will be after more chitchat between ourselves. I just haven't had a lot of time for internets lately, is all. :wacky:

Edit: I'm seeing about having it implemented about a week or so from now. (when the next sotw thread is up) so that it's lined up with sotw, so it starts and ends at the same time, so we can keep track of it easier. :wacky:

Very soon, I believe. I know Mark mentioned about writing up the guidelines with Derek a few days ago. Not sure if they had began writing it though, but I'm positive that it'll be sooner than you think. xD
 
Gah, sorry for the doublepost, but I just thought of a really cool and challenging theme. I was telling Mark about it...but what do you guys say something that describes emotion in your signature as part of a theme? Let's say the theme is "anger". The work, the render/stock, the display of brushes, the colors, etc...would be something related to anger. It has to be the overall work of a signature, not just a picture of a man angry or something. I think it would be neat anyway and definitely a challenge.

I'll throw it up with this week's AOTW and they'll be due at the same time :monster:
 
Does the AOTW have to be 100x100 like I can't use 100 x X<100 or X<100 x 100 ?

Shall we make a separate thread for AOTW discussions and results, or stick the AOTW winners onto the end of SOTW?

Edit - Nevermind, I added it onto the end of this thread, and updated the first post. Usernames of the winners have been updated, and I gave the first post a little color to make it stand out more ^^
