The theme this week is the 1950's. Please remember, that while posting isn't necessary in order to count your vote, it is encouraged.

Also, please remember that you CANNOT vote for your own entry, and you will be disqualified from this SOTW, and the next two SOTWs if you do so.

Here are the entries I received :

number 2.

As much as 1 fits the theme and all the text doesnt work at all sadly. Putting big text in 2 places is a big no. Also the font looks reminds me in in the wild west, like what youd see on a saloon :wacky:

#2.

I love the fact that James Dean is used. I probably wouldn't have thought about using him and do something similar to what #1 has done. The first one as Lew said, has been let down by the text that doesn't seem to really work in a signature. I like how the top right corner of number 1 kind of reminds me of a 50's TV screen though. :wacky:

I think if the style of one, and the graphics of the second had been used, that'd made a pretty sweet signature. :lew:

I love the old feel of the first one, and even though I wasn't fond of the huge text. I'm gonna vote for it anyways, because of the black and white feel, and the older looking text. xD I also liked how it looked, and while the second signature looks clean and has smaller pictures going on as well, I think it might've looked better on LP.

Very nice entries. :ryan:

#2

Really like the text, the bar behind the larger text looks really nice. I also love how there are images blended in instead of just one main image. Great entry. :ryan:

While I do think number 1 fits the theme a lot more, the text wasn't doing it for me(as lew pointed out). Whereas, number two has nice contrast, but some of the text is too unreadable. So, I guess when it comes down to it, I have to go with the one that speaks "1950s". #1 gmv.

Love the entries this week :ryan:

My thoughts exactly when I first compared the two sigs. I really like that entry 1 fits the theme very well, though anyone who knows James Dean, I can see how he can be considered a 50s icon.

I'm going to go ahead and put my vote to entry 2. I actually don't mind the text in 1 so much, but it throws off the 50s feel to it for me which is why I'm choosing 2.
