Apparantly blindingly bright colorful characters don't keep people's attention.

I meant the actual hand-drawn animation like The Lion King and Pocahontas.

And I don't count sequels to classics such as Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Cinderella, and The little Mermaid. Those are CLASSICS, damn it, and they have a happy ending for a REASON.
