A poster found in Deus Ex: Human Revolution hints that Square Enix's most popular franchise will still be going strong in another 16 years.

If sci-fi movies and games are to be believed, Taco Bell will be the only restaurant left in 20 years, humans will become increasingly stupid, and Final Fantasy will still be going strong. Deus Ex: Human Revolution takes place in the year 2027, and while snooping around the IT guy Pritchard's office in the Sarif headquarters, IGN stumbled across the okatu poster seen above.

I can only guess that Final Fantasy XXVII centers around a rag-tag group of peculiarly dressed androgynists who must combine their elemental powers to contain a corrupt magic force that if harnessed by the wrong person could spell certain doom for the entire world. Look for the Game Informer cover reveal in 2025.

Not sure why they're reporting on this now seeing as it was going around the internet by us Deus Ex fanboys at the Eidos forums back in May. I tried to get a screenshot of it as well, but it was being stupid and wouldn't let me. I'll post one when I get my copy in a few hours and it will be in high res :gasp:

On a more serious note, I read an article that Marlena posted in that April Fools FFVII remake thread where they said they're probably not going to continue with numbers on their entries. Who knows. Numbers look cooler and make it easier to distinguish. But by this time they'll probably start to get a bit messy :lew:

Oooh :ohoho:

I just hope the girl becomes a main hero. Final fantasy XXVII... That's a lonnnnnnng numeral spelling. :wacky: It looks crowded but at the same time I would hate to see the numeral spelling taken out. :/

Final Fantasy XXVII... I'd better still be alive by then. -__-From what I can make out from that poster, the CG art could be around how FFVII, VIII, and IX's graphics were like - but who knows. Just hoping the series up to that number will be more pleasing than what SE has been throwing at us since FFX came out, but knowing them, can't have our hopes up too high . :hmmm:

Well if Deus Ex human revolution takes place in 2027, this is probably just a prediction. It is just a reference to another Square Enix game in the case of Deus Ex. XXVII.. That is twenty seven. I think they would not go that far. Like I said, probably just a reference to woo fans. :hmmm: In 16 years? Well FF will surely change and that character design is interesting. However it is just merely a hint imo.

It's just a joke poking fun at Final Fantasy and Square Enix. Eidos Montreal is a bunch of jokers :P

Mmmkay...yeah, as this is frivolous and not serious news, it's going over to FF Fun. Sorry, peeps.

Oh and who took it seriously.... Oh I wonder :wacky:

In 16 years Square Enix will have merged with Obsidian, giving rise to Final Elder Scrolls. The sandbox JRPG that just keeps on giving.

I think you mean Bethesda ;) Obsidian only developed Fallout New Vegas :P But yes, I see this happening :gasp:

I always get the two mixed up...they both produce boring sandbox crap, so it's hard to tell them apart. xD

Final Fallout, then. That maintains the alliteration, as well :mokken:

The Elder Scrolls isn't boring :sad2:

Morrowind, no. I think I'd rather try playing FFIX again than Oblivion, though...

I started with Oblivion and it got me into the series so I really like it. But Morrowind is great.
