What's the big deal with becoming a veteran member? It's absolutely no different to being a normal member, to being a moderator, to being a new member. The vets lounge is basically just another (less active) spam forum. Big secret revealed.
 
Actually.. it might do some good for some renovations in the future. I understand the lack of incentives for most folks in the Veterans lounge.. so maybe us staffers can pull our heads together about a little.. reward besides a star.
 
I sort of figured being a Veteran meant being here for a certain amount of time, and not just poastcuntz... but rly if that's all it's determined by, then it's shit tbh.

It's a forum. It's a little something, a little privacy to show they appreciate their dedicated members, not a damn lottery ticket. -.-

I think it's so weird people expect things to be spectacular.

Spam is better than the Vet lounge. Threads attract people with similar tastes and senses of humour in Spam, whereas in the vet lounge it's just people who meet the requirements, it's a selection of different types of people who generally don't interest each other.
 
I'm with Kira. If people don't like the Veteran Lounge then there is no rule telling people that they have to be there.

They've recently given it post count in an attempt to give more incentives for being there, and to turn it into a bit less spam and more extended chat. On the whole people are adding more to their posts in there so I wouldn't say that that had failed and that it is still spam without a purpose.

The content is relaxed and semi-spam to a degree, and it is essentially still lacking a purpose, but that is to be expected since it is essentially chit chat. We've ended up discussing things more since the post count and we've had some conversations in there with paragraphs for replies rather than one line and a smiley.

It's just a little section for veterans to call their own. It's not meant to be a golden palace. I'd definitely welcome further incentives for being a veteran, though I'm content with what we have. I don't know what else we could have other than a star and a whole section.
