RPG Inferno Suggestions Thread

There was only that one battle with that many monsters, no other battle had half as many monsters, so I hardly base the average number of monsters encountered on that. It makes sense, no? :hmmm:

Ah, yes, I don't want any more boss battles like that either, that was a bit ridiculous. RPG Directors, don't do that again, at least not in any hurry. X_x

Lets fight a battle with, like, 50 enemy minions. :p

What a crazy idea! ...That I don't like. :gasp: I prefer battling fewer, but tougher enemies than hordes of punching bag enemies of no challenge, just have to go through some long, boring battle killing an enemy off at a time, one of many... >_>

Ah, and something to do to try draw interest to the RPG, one word: Story. I don't know what is up with that Mysterious Stranger guy, but I don't think that is going to lead to anything exciting. xP

Ugh, my fingers are frozen stiff, it's a little difficult to type right now, taking some time to make this post without any spelling errors. :wacky:

I have a problem with the short time it takes for the battle to expire. It takes me a long time to fight all the Gargoyles and Vlad, but I can do it. But around halfway through the battle, it expires.

It is listed in the first post of the thread the preferred size for the different types of icons (Weapons, Spells, Monsters, Background Images, etc.). :hmmm:

As I see it, I've been able to work with larger numbers pretty well thus far, albeit it hasn't been overly long, but there have been quite a few monsters that I have added nonetheless.

And yes, if monsters take off 60% of your Max HP, that's too much. X_x

Aye, the stats are a new experience so undoubtedly there may be problems working out all the kinks, but we feel that after a bit of practice, we may be able to work with the larger stats without bother.

And if not, we can always go back next time :wacky:

It doesn't matter how large or small the base stats are. It all depends on the range of difference between the our stats and the monsters.

Heck, we could have a base strength of 5, but surely the monsters should have a starting DEF below 3 (that or not more than 25HP) or else we will have a long battle. I think that the killer factor in most RPGs is that we sometimes reach a point in which battles take too much time to finish which sometimes triggers a auto-prune error.

The things that sets the game out of balance are the spells, the items, and the attack types. If those three are not controlled and handled with utmost care, then changing the base stats or even altering the amount of attribute points earned per battle won't make much difference.

In every game, of all things, spells have been quite the factor that can either take or give the edge to a player (or to a monster). I believe that only boss battles should be the long drawn out battles, and that normal monster battles shouldn't take more than 10 minutes to complete. If you consider the amount of battles required to level up, I say it is quite reasonable.

Besides, if you want to control how fast players go through the areas, you can always recur to Trigger NPCs, Puzzle Trigger Settings, Maze Areas, Quests, and other trigger using techniques. The RPG Inferno does not necessarily needs to be a simple hack and slash game. :P

Well, it isn't much but the last boss of the first areas may require players to gain some extra levels so they don't just try progress to the next area every time they win a battle to advance to the destination. :P

And this shouldn't really be going on in the RPG Images Suggestion Thread, this kind of discussion would befit the RPG Inferno Suggestions thread better to be honest. :hmmm:

There, the posts have been merged with the more appropriate thread for subjects on how the RPG Inferno in general could be made better. :monster:

First time I ever did anything like that tbh, I'm just glad it worked. :P How would you feel about Final Fantasy VII style spells? Example: Fire1, Fire2, Fire3, Cure1, Cure2, Cure3, etc.? And since this is the way it was in FFVII, Thunder is Bolt1, Bolt2, and Bolt3. xD

If this style of the different power levels of spells isn't overly well received, it can always be changed simply by modifying the names. :hmmm:

Changed, I guess that looks better. Meh... And guess what? You can start having RPGing fun anytime. :monster: Apologies if I didn't get into much details of the areas, but I spoke of trying to make the monsters fair for the new stat setup. :P

Is it really that big of a problem? >.> Alicia is not offensive at all, she is just your Healer, your character gets to be the hero, that's the way it works. :P

But surely there will be pets to come that have a decent selection of spells, they just don't get taught any spells, just what they know when you acquire them, then of those you just master the spells it has. <.<

Yeah, unless a really good one comes along at some point, whose usefulness shouldn't soon expire, as it continues to grow stronger leveling up with the player. ;)

That wouldn't be for a while anyways, it would be a far superior Healer/Protector, that also wouldn't do any damage to enemies, but would make up for it with it's better survivability, speed, and magical prowess. :P
