[RP] Final Fantasy IX: Scars of Terra

"We need to go and back up Robert at the castle. We cannot let them take those mirrors!"

"As you say."

Indeed, the last thing Alleria wants is for the mirrors to disappear right under their noses. That would totally sully the purpose of the previous mission, and on an unrelated note, Alleria realized it would make her feel terribly ill at ease. She never liked seeing her missions fail especially with the feelings that come after it and the people moping around regretting their actions.

"Where's Ricard and the Twinsword?"

Thinking back to the glimpse of the two, Alleria quickly responded," They should be on their way to the castle as well, I believe. Last I saw them, they were together, jumping off high places."

Realizing she may have sounded a little too informal, she quickly added," But nevertheless, Lady Knight, we ought not tarry too long."
 
The Pirate

Just as he was about to head in one way, he was blown back by a Chery Blossom attack, while the attack blew him a few feet back, he managed to evade or deflect most of the shards, a few hitting outlying areas in his arms and legs.

Landing on his feet, he looked up at the Burmecian who launched the attack.

"Think you weren't expected?"

"Actually, yes." The Pirate Sarcastically as he stood up, dusting himself off, the attack wasn't lethal, and in all fact, he could potentially get past him. "But you know what they say, can't predict the future, eh?" The pirate smiled and shrugged as Robert continued. "The mirrors are beyond your reach, long since gone and I won't allow the wasteland of Terra to threaten the lives of everyone on Gaia! Your time here is wasted, as are the lives of your men."

"Yeah, well it's not my time to die yet. I've got things to do, place to see, people to meet, girls to get laid. You get what I'm saying....right?" As soon as the Pirate said that, he drew his first revolver from his right side holster and pointed it at the Burmecian, or his shadow, as he jumped high into the air and attempted to strike him down with a downward thrust. But the Oeilvert Lord-General did a combat roll, rolling forward to dodge the attack, then a front flip to quickly get back to his feet and create some distance between the two, fortunately he was now coming where Robert came from. "Now, now...let's not resort to too much violence you know. Besides, honesty is the best policy. Now if you excuse me..." The Pirate began running away from Robert. After all, it wasn't his style to actively engage in battle, especially if it's to steal something important.

On the way to looking through the hall, he came up to various chambers..."Now if I was a shiny mirror that I would give to a girl, where would I be? Einey-Meeny-Miny-Mo!" The Pirate pointed at a door, the second door to the right. Quickly moving to the door, he moved in to open the door and see what his reward is.

The Twinsword

As they made their way to the castle they came across three Oeilvert Musketeers, fortunately they appeared to have started reloading, but apparently stopped to fix their bayonets, surrounding the two of them.

"if anything happens... Run"

Twinsword nodded as Ricard moved to strike down the first Musketeer, but the other two moved in, realizing that by Twinsword letting Ricard do what he did to the soldier and let him by was an act of treason, one moved in to take out Ricard while another tried to subdue Twinsword. While Twinsword was unarmed, it didn't mean she could not still fight back, and the two of them struggled over the Musketeer's firearm. With no one gaining an advantage over the other in terms of strength, Twinsword did the next best thing and kicked the man between the legs. The Genome let go of the rifle as he moved to place his hands on his nuts. Twinsword, now with one of their Rifles in hand swung the butt of the gun right in his face, breaking his skull and dropping him to the ground, unconscious, or probably dead.

Annelise Steiner

" They should be on their way to the castle as well, I believe. Last I saw them, they were together, jumping off high places."

"Oh, damnation." Annelise thought to herself upon hearing the news. The last thing she wanted to hear was Ricard getting together with that Oeilvert Lord-General. Her heart was pounding as she started to feel funny. "Wait, what is this am I feeling...is this jealousy?"

" But nevertheless, Lady Knight, we ought not tarry too long."

It was Alleria's last comment that snapped Anne back to reality. "R-Right, let's get going!" Unfortunately for Anne, it didn't take more than two steps before another interruption presented itself, and now it would probably be starting to annoy her and her comrades.

"Hello down there. Is one of you Annelise?"

Anne turned to the side to see a young girl, riding what appeared to be a large angel. Almost taking no chances considering her last run-in with a summon, she held the grip of her sword in her hand. "I am the person of who you speak, what of it that you need?"
 
Robert Crescent​

Robert gave pursuit to the Pirate, keeping his eyes on the man's gun. "Yeah, and you should never enter a place uninvited!" Robert spoke as he began attacking once more. He would thrust his lance, aiming at the revolved in an attempt to disarm his opponent. "Don't know what your Cyril's fascination is in trying to revive a dead world that will just cause the death of another, or do you think what happened on Terra to be fairy tales?" Robert spoke as he continued his assault. Robert wasn't one to give up, not when so much was on the line.
 
Remilia Oveilia

"I am the person of who you speak, what of it that you need?"

Remilia's answer to the knight's question was to drop the bag of battle plans and such on the wall in front of Anne.

"Lan the Monk wanted me to give you this. I owe him one since he got me out of the army." Remilia replied as Ultima lowered the girl down onto the wall and set her on the wall. Anne and her friend should be able to see the Oeilvert armor that Remilia wore.

Some iron balls flew above Ultima as Remilia turned around, annoyed.

"Hey! I'm talking to someone here. Let us talk in peace! Ultima, Eschaton those tanks!" Remilia yelled at the battlefield.

Ultima faded out of view. A few seconds later, a pillar of light slammed into the tanks before exploding, taking out majority of the tanks. After the blast, Ultima reappeared in front of Remila as she turned to face Anne.

"Now, as I was saying..." Remilia said with a smile.

Lan Ester

Lan heard a distinct explosion. He turned around and saw the white explosion. Lan sighed as he walked into Clerya.

"I hope Remilia is not overdoing it for heer escape." Lan muttered as he opened a door of a random Cleryian building.

And the next thing they knew, a girl atop an angel-like being came down to them. Alleria was starting to get rather amused at the turn of events, and seeing Annelise tense up, Alleria did so as well, resting her hand on the hilt of her sword.

"Lan the Monk wanted me to give you this. I owe him one since he got me out of the army."

Looking at the Oeilvert armor she was wearing, Alleria was finding difficulties believing the girl.

"Hey! I'm talking to someone here. Let us talk in peace! Ultima, Eschaton those tanks!"

Glancing at the angel-like being as it disappeared, Alleria was about to look at the girl when suddenly, the tanks in the distance exploded in a pillar of light. Her eyes widened and her mouth hung ajar. She was suddenly glad this person before her was not their enemy.

"Now, as I was saying..."

Alleria closed her mouth, gulping as she stared at the angelic being that reappeared before the girl.
 
Watching Twin Sword dispatch one of the soldiers, Ricard gave her an affirmative nod as he turned to his own, kicking him in the knee and causing him to buckle over as Ricard lunged his katana through the soldier's torso. After finishing this he took Twin Sword's hand again "I hope you're ready for what's up ahead" at that he prepared to walk a little faster up to the top of the stairs.

Following after the group, Lucia kept her distance behind them all, overhearing Alleria's report on Ricard and Twin Sword she began to listen in. Though she couldn't hear it, Annelise's reaction to the news of Ricard and Twin Sword getting to be alone together was clearly apparent. Laughing quietly to herself she was interrupted by a new arrival.

Looking over her Lucia almost jumped for joy in delight and sheer excitement "Oh wonderful, a new cutie pie to play with!"

Burmecia-Town Center​

The Oeilvert Soldier's still coming inside the city begin to overpower the Black mage unit and are starting to dwindle one by one,they are forced to back away from the town square.

Aaron:...Damn this isn't good I knew we'd be facing some enemies but I never thought so many would come..

Vivius:Yes..We need to fall back to the Castle we're outnumbered at the moment,We need to regroup and focus on defense for now.

Aaron:Right,We already lost quite a few of the unit from all these guy's..

The Black Mage Unit Led by Vivius is being forced to pull back to the Castle due to the overwhelming force,they manage to get to the Castle stairwell.

Vivius:Alright we'll make our stand here..

Aaron:..?Here..?Why?

Vivius:Well this is the only real ground entrance to the Castle so they'll have to come through here,plus it's a very small tunnel where they cant dodge or move easily we can cast firaga spell's inside this and blow them out of the tunnel..

Aaron:That sound's a tad risky don't you think..What if the Roof comes down on us?

Vivius: Don't worry this staircase is very sturdy it would take more than a simple explosion to bring it down on us..But that aside I need you to defend us from their Musket's just block the bullet's long enough for us to cast our magic.

Aaron:Alright I'll try,at least we can protect the castle..

As they finish talking they hear footstep's coming 25 Soldier's come running up the stair's and 10 hang back with their musket's.

Vivius:Here they come begin the counter-attack!!

The Musket user's shoot off round's and Aaron manages to block the shell's with his sword,the mages hand's glow orange and Aaron jump's back behind them as they cast Firaga,the flame spell rushes down the stair's engulfing the soldiers and musket user's causeing a loud explosion and flame's to burst out of the enterance.

Vivius:Alright begin charging again!!If anything that should warn the people inside the castle that they are advancing!!

((OOC:Hope this is ok just wanted to keep my guy alive during the battle dont wanna seem lazy))
 
Remilia Oveilia

"I am not an Oeilvert army person. I was conscripted into their service the first moment I set foot into Oeilvert. I just wanna see the world." Remilia said as she smiled a cute smile to Anne.

Remilia turned to Ultima as the summoned angel bowed.

"Thanks for your help Ultima. Rest easy now." Remilia said as the Angel faded away into nothingness.

"So, are we ready?" Remilia asked looking at the pair while holding on to her Tiger Racket.

Lan Ester

Looking around the current building of Clerya, Lan smiled as he found a bed to rest on. Going back to the door that he came through, the green haired genome made sure the door was locked before taking off his armor. Then, placing the sword and claws near the bed side, Lan lied down in said bed and took a slight nap.

(OOC: short post for lan. Not much for him to do until the battle is over.)
 
The Pirate

As he moved to enter through the door. A Giant bolder came to crash down on top of the Lord-General. Hopping back to avoid getting crushed, the boulder blocked the obviously wrong pathway.

"Yeah, and you should never enter a place uninvited!"

"Touche, but would you really expect that from a pirate?"

He turned around only for Robert to thrust his Spear into his gun knocking it out of his hand and dropping it on the floor "That hurt!"

The Pirate then moved his now open hand to grab the shaft of Robert's Spear. "Don't know what your Cyril's fascination is in trying to revive a dead world that will just cause the death of another, or do you think what happened on Terra to be fairy tales?"

"Well to be fair, he and his ex are the only ones who knows what he's trying to do. Guess he doesn't trust us, but hey, who wouldn't trust me." The Pirate then went to headbutt the Burmecian in the face, and if successful, sidestep and move towards his dropped gun. "Besides, if I remember my history, wouldn't going to Terra now be impossible with the Shimmering Islands now several miles underwater?" The Pirate shrugged before moving to the closest door, and moving in to see what lies beyond.

"And besides, Patriotism can be a hell of a drug, ya know."

Anne kept her hand on her sword handle as she was lowered down by her summon. She was still uneasy, made worse by the fact that she was wearing an attire typically worn by Oeilvert soldiers. However as the tanks continued firing, and shelling the gate, the girl turned her attention towards the tanks. "Hey! I'm talking to someone here. Let us talk in peace! Ultima, Eschaton those tanks!"

Watching the Angel, Ultima take off into the sky, several beams of light came down on the tanks, utterly vaporizing them where they were, to the shock and awe of both Alleria and herself.

"Now, as I was saying, I am not an Oeilvert army person. I was conscripted into their service the first moment I set foot into Oeilvert. I just wanna see the world.""

Conscription was a common place in the militaries of the world. In order to ensure that nations would have sufficient forces in the event of war, nations would turn to conscription and drafting, sometimes by force to gain the numbers needed.

"Thanks for your help Ultima. Rest easy now." Ultima disappeared into nothingness. "So, are we ready?"

Ignoring what Lucia said somewhat (so she doesn't get that awkward feeling around her like usual) Anne interrupted "We're ready, let's hurry and head up to the castle. I'm certain that the plans would be best interpreted to the higher ups." In reality, she just wanted to get there as quickly as possible to assist the castle defenders from The Lord-General in charge. Nonetheless, she began running as fast as she could, heading towards the castle as quickly as possible.

The Twinsword

"I hope you're ready for what's up ahead"

"I'm ready. Let's go."

As Ricard grabbed Twinsword's hand they walked up the stairs as quickly as possible, eventually coming up to a door, which the Lord-General opened. Seeing Robert in a battle stance meant that he must be engaging someone, but whom?

"Ah, there it is...Third time's usually a charm, but I'm not complaining about a second time."

That voice sounded familiar, and the way he spoke...

"Pirate?!"

The Pirate turned around, and saw the Twinsword.

"Well, isn't this quite a surprise, and from the look of that gun, it must mean you beat on of our guys to it, huh...traitor?"

"Just surrender, no harm will come to you, the people here managed to-"

"Blah, Blah, Blah, I just wanna get this job done and go home. I still have things to do you know." The Pirate then made his move, running up towards the Water Elemental Mirror, moving in to grab it.
 
Letting Twin Sword open the door within, hey both came face to face with he leader of the attack, called 'Pirate'. Instinctively Ricard stood in front of her, summoning what little energy he had left "You're not getting away!" Unleashing his last dregs of energy he forced a wave between The Pirate and the mirror, hoping to throw off his attention and direct it at Ricard. Before he had time to think of another plan, Ricard was forced to one knee breathing heavily. "Twin Sword... Run now"

Trying to keep himself upright Ricard looked up at the Pirate "This won't be the end, no matter what you try"

"Considering your Cyril calls Terra the 'Promised Land', and the fact that opening the portal is the only things those mirrors can be used for, it doesn't take much to put two and two together." he spoke as the Pirate opened the door. Robert turned his head, catching the headbutt with the side of his face in order to prevent himself from flinching and as he did so, raised one foot and thrusted a kick as hard as he could at the Pirate's gut. If the Pirate couldn't avoid this, he'd see just how powerful a Dragon Knight's legs had to be for the heights they could reach.

Freya and Fratley would soon arrive on the scene just after Twinsword came on the scene. Both jumped over at the Pirate, their lances aimed at the man's chest. If the gun was still on the ground, Robert would have one foot on it and kick it back towards Twinsword and the others.
 
The Twinsword and The Pirate

Despite Ricard's warning to stay away, she wanted to stay by him, and as he fired an energy wave directed at the Pirate, it narrowly missed, but the mirror fell off its pillar and landed with a resonding crash, breaking the object.

"Wait, these mirror's don't break...It's a fa-" The Pirate was immediately interreupted with a kick to the gut, knocking him flat on his back. Two other Burmecians followed suit and pointed their spears on his chest.

"Oh come on, you'd really think it was that easy to take me down? I'm not like that honest little girl over there!"

"Hey!!!" Twinsword protested

"As for me, I'm dishonest..." The Pirate continued as he shuffled his hands to the back, pulling a smoke bomb from his pouch "...and a dishonest man you can always trust to be dishonest. Honestly, it's the honest ones you should watch out for, because you can never predict when they're gonna do something incredibly..." With that, the Pirate pulled out the Smoke Bomb and revealed it in his hand "STUPID!" The Pirate immediately slammed his hand with the Smoke Bomb in hand. The pressure-activated device exploded, letting loose a cloud of smoke that would blind his adversaries while he made his escape to continue searching for the mirror.

"Kay Kay. I don't wanna run sooo... Dog of Hell, Rear your heads. Unleash the pain of your three heads. Emerge from within the depths of Hell. Cerberus!" Remilia cried out as a demonic gate sprang up behind her. The gates slammed open as a horse sized three headed dog with spiked collars on head neck of a head walked out.

"Hi Cerby." Remilia said as she took off the Oeilvert armor to reveal her usual wear. After losing the armor, the red haired girl got on the horse sized dog as she pointed her staff forward..

"Let's go." Remilia said as Cerberus followed Annelise, Alleria, and Lucia to their location.

"Kay Kay. I don't wanna run sooo... Dog of Hell, Rear your heads. Unleash the pain of your three heads. Emerge from within the depths of Hell. Cerberus!"

Anne turned around as the ex-Oeilvert soldier conjured a gate from the depths of Hell, bringing out a three-headed dog of terror from within. Anne looked up in shock as the summoner said to the creature with a smile on her face. "Hi Cerby." The girl then took off her armor to reveal her normal attire, climbing onto the beast itself.

"Let's go."

Anne said nothing as she continued to run for the castle, whatever introduction that will have to be made would be made after it is all over.

On the way to the castle, Anne heard shots of gunfire coming in from the city center, the survivors from one of the crashed airships began firing at the party as they were trying to make their way through. These musketeers were wavering however, as shown by their firing randomly into the attacking Dragon Knights.

Anne's blade began cackling with electricity, waiting for the opportune moment to strike, but also waiting to see how Remilla would fare in a battle against her new enemies.

The Pirate

While the smoke bomb was doing it's work in blinding himself away, the Prate rolled to the side, towards where Fratley was. If he could get the jump on one of them, that would be one less soldier to worry about when looking for the Water Elemental Mirror.

In one of the rare instances were he would actually get his hands dirty, The Pirate did a sweeping kick, before jumping to his feet. If the sweeping kick connected, Fratley would be down and he could quickly snatch the mirror and be on his merry way.

Sprinting behind Annelise, Alleria was keeping an eye on their surroundings as they ran. Finally, they were moving to join the fray. The last thing she wanted was for this battle to fall flat on them right before they even join in. As they approached the castle, sounds of gunfire grew louder.

Guns... I prefer roses to this, thought Alleria to herself. Glancing to her companions, she noticed that Annelise was already ready with her blade cackling with electricity. Gripping her own blade tightly, Alleria sighed inwardly. So I'll have to deal with that one day when I duel with her...

Annelise didn't seem to be making a move yet, so Alleria waited quietly behind her. The moment she moved would be her cue to attack.
 
Remilia Oveilia

Hearing gunshots, Remilia saw some movement as she slowed Cerberus to a stop. Looking at the gunners there, Remilia smiled as she got off of Cerberus.

"Cerby. can you take out those people with guns for me please?" Remilia asked as she pointed at the musketeers.

Cerberus leapt once and roared as the three headed dog of hell started tearing through the musketeers with bloody glee.

"Be careful there Cerby." Remilia called out.

The trio weren't dumb enough to simply stand still once the smoke hit. They would leap backwards until they were out of the smoke, which meant Pirate would have to come at them through the smoke he created. Freya and Fratley decided to try and burn away the smoke, being careful not to aim where Twinsword was. Both Freya and Fratley would launch Dragon Breath at their previous locations, burning the smoke from the ground up. And if Pirate was coming at them, he'd have to dodge fast or be fast fried.

Robert decided to caution on the preventative side by using Reis' Wind. Surrounding himself, his mother and his father with healing draconic energy, the restorative properties would speed up the healing of wounds, current and yet to be afflicted. He kept his eyes on the smoke, ready to attack if he saw Pirate come out.

Following the rest of the group into the castle, Lucia grabbed her Crossbow from her back as the sounds of gunfire echoed off the walls, as they reached the top Lucia watched everyone else get ready as she pointed her crossbow at The Pirate. "Hey pretty boy, why not play with me instead?" Lucia shot him a cocky smirk as she took a couple of steps forward, firing an arrow in his direction before putting it away and unsheathing her blades holding the left at eye level outstretched while the other was held in a reverse grip behind her.

"I hope you're fun to play with, I hate it when guys don't last long" concentrating on the ground below The Pirate, she began to make it shake violently, simulating a small tremor to knock him off balance if he remained there.

Watching Ricard fall to his stomach passed out, Twin Sword ran over to him, putting down her recently aquired gun and dropped to her knees. Turning Ricard over she placed his head on her legs as she began to shake him "please Ricard! Wake up! Don't leave me here!" trying in vain to hold back her tears she kept shaking him, eventually hearing a minor dissatisfied grunt from Ricard. Still teary, though this time with happiness she lifted his head up and buried it into her chest, embracing him as tightly as she could.

Though not long passed out, Ricard found himself awakening to a facefull of Twin Sword's bosom, pushing gently on her shoulders he tried to get himself some air before laying back on her legs "I thought I told you to run... Damn idiot" coughing slightly he tried to get up, to no avail as he turned to Twin Sword "if you're not going to leave here, at least get me out of the way, at this point i'm just a sitting target, and stop crying will you? It does you no justice"

Burmecia-Staircase to Castle Burmecia​

Aaron looks down for it's been awhile since any soldier's tried coming up the Staircase,he looks back at Vivius and the Black Mage's as they are drinking some Ether's to restore some of their magical strength..

Aaron:Hey Vivius do you think you can handle this post without me?

Vivius:Yes they're being careful to avoid this Staircase now,if they send more we can kill them off fairly easy...So why do you ask..?

Aaron:I'd like to go back and check the situation at the castle,make sure the mirror is safe and see if they need any back-up.

Vivius:You quite the battle maniac aren't you..?Well go on we'll be fine here.

Aaron:Thank's!

Aaron Bow's in Respect and run's past the black mage's and as he passes the door's he see's a plume of black smoke,instinctly he rushes in that direction to see what's happening.

The Twinsword and The Pirate

The Pirate felt an intense warmth coming from below him as he started running towards Fratley. Drawing his sword, he jumped up as high as he could to avoid their twin Draconian magic attack. Of course, this meant that he would be easily seen by everyone out to get him, but it did not matter. He was a Pirate, and people being after him was nothing new.

Although he intended to jump right in front of Fratley and knock him down in a non-lethal sense, he decided instead to jump to the side of the Burmecian Knight and make a break for the door, passing a wounded Ricard and Twinsword, who was moving his wounded body away from the action.

Unfortunately for him, another women, a Genome appeared, with a crossbow in hand.

"Hey pretty boy, why not play with me instead?"

She fired the crossbow, the bolt flying straight towards an oncoming Pirate, and struck him in the shoulder. The Pirate felt a sharp pain in shoot up in his shoulder whilst looking at the busty woman who took the shot.

"Heh, nice shot. I wonder if you have kind of flair in bed." The Pirate pulled out the crossbow bolt as he looked to find himself surrounded by enemies with almost no way out.

"I hope you're fun to play with, I hate it when guys don't last long" She then touched the ground, causing it to shake as if it was an earthquake.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, easy there girl. You don't have to shake the ground for me." The Pirate said as he started to lose his balance, holding on to the ground with one hand just to avoid falling on his face and suffering a repeat performance of which he could not escape.

Once he knew that the Earthquake would pass, The Pirate said, "Sorry, but let's play another time, okay?" The Pirate shot her with a cocky smirk before running towards her, as if he was trying to attack, but rather than attack, he would attempt to slide between her legs and make an escape.

But once he succeeded, if he succeeded, he would be struck with a Lightning elemental blade that the Pirate did not expect, cutting through the fabric of his jacket and leaving a gash on his arm.

"You're....you're....YOU'RE DISPICABLE!!!" The Pirate said in a tone of anger, and amusement. But Anne was undaunted, moving in to try and stab the Lord-General while he was down, which the Pirate dodged by rolling to the side, getting back to his feet immediately thereafter.

"You will not win, lay down your arms and surrender." The Alexandrian Knight said to the Pirate, hoping to force him to give up this hopeless battle. But the Pirate responded simply as "Only if you can catch me..."

The Brandish and The Ninja

An Oeilvert Airship began descending on the beach near Cleyra. However this airship was different, completely different from any airship model ever seen. The ship paled in size to any other airship in existence. This airship was known simply as the Hresvelgr, and as soon as it touched down, a figure in what appeared to be in a white cloak appeared with another figure wearing a mask and ninja gear began coming down deck.

The Oeilvert soldiers got into 2 separate lines and saluted as both figures stood on the surface of the beach, looking up at Oeilvert. Their orders were to retrieve the Fire Elemental Mirror, located in Lindblum, as well to destroy the Lindblum shipbuilding yards, depriving their enemy of a great asset.
