[RP]Aina - The return of Sorvahr

Ecystera Rasmorya

"That idea is fine, albeit inconvenient."

Admittedly, conversing with someone with which she had to look up to was rather uncomfortable, yet averting her gaze from the officer's face was downright rude. Quickly looking over to the unconscious bandit, Ecystera kicked the bandit at his waist, jolting him awake.

The bandit coughed, and squirmed about on the ground before realizing just who he was with. That, and the fact that the entire camp had been decimated.

"You have a minute to confess the reasons you would attempt a kidnap. Your time starts now."

Clambering backwards, the bandit struggled to put some distance between him and the Temple Knight to no avail. All Ecystera did was to simply walk up at a casual pace to close the distance.

"Speaking of which, whatever happened to the other liaison that was supposed to come, Officer?"

She still did not know the Officer's name, now that she thought of it. Nevertheless, it was more curious to know about what happened to the rest. This bandit still had half a minute to go anyway.

Gozen Matabei

Aftermath II and Reprimand

That idea is fine, albeit inconvenient."

Apparently, water was not needed as all the Temple Knight had to do was give the unconscious sod a kick at the waist and he jolted back into consciousness. It saved Matabei the trouble of drawing water from the bandit's water supply. Whatever is done to the bandit is up to the Temple Knight. It was her mission after all and her and the local militia was only called up due to her request for back up. No time was wasted as as soon as he woke up, questioning and interrogation began.

"You have a minute to confess the reasons you would attempt a kidnap. Your time starts now."

Now that the battle was over, Matabei rewrapped her Naginata and slipped it back onto her back. Carrying two pole arms in hand at all times is inconvenient. So Matabei had a harness made for her which primarily stored her Yumi bow and arrows, but had tow sets of circuar clips that she could put one of her pole arms in.

"Speaking of which, whatever happened to the other liaison that was supposed to come, Officer?"

Pardon? Oh.... the militia Temple Knight Sama? They are.....

On cue, the clattering of moving armour pieces and swords could be heard from the main gate in which Matabei busted down on entry. It was the belayed Militia coming to assist in the mission.

Well.... they appeared to have arrived. In actuality, I detached without orders from the group in order to come here whilst the officiers were discussing tactics. I am afraid i have taken leave without permission.....Atcha..... this will not end well....

Matabei could see the anger in the Captain's face as he stormed up from the road towards the base. In his eyes, Matabei's dash off could have potentially blew any surprise they had and could have ruined his plans.

That wench is going to get it!

As the captain of the militia ran up into the base, his men were taken back by the carnage that was before them. Men laid dead all over the place with their blood colouring the ground red. Regardless, he pressed on towards Matabei and Ecystera.

Gozen! You were liaised to be under MY command! You do not run off without my orders! You could have blown our entire operation! Your superiors are going to hear about this!

Military blood ran strong in the Gozen line. As the captain came blasting at her, Matabei stood at attention, her stiff posture made her towering over the small man. She grimaced against the barrage. Major Swift is not going to be happy.

My... my apologises Sir!

Ecystera Rasmorya

Glaring at the militia's Captain, Ecystera raised a finger to her lips.

"Shhh-- Be quiet."

Then, averting her glare to the bandit, who only managed to clamber back against the bodies of his comrade, she walked towards him with big strides. Her hands cackled with electricity as she blasted a bolt at him. Shaking with the electrocution, the bandit screamed in agony. As the electrocution ceased, his eyes were wide with fear, and he was already stuttering his answers.

"M-m-mercy! We-We needed large funds to sustain ourselves. T-t-the n-nobleman's ransom should t-tide us over."

"Good."

Pleased to have obtained the information she sought, she blasted another bolt of electricity to knock him out once again. The men of the militia were all silent as they watched the entire procedure.

She turned and walked towards the Captain and Officer -- apparently called 'Gozen' by the Captain.

"In any case, Captain, Officer Gozen did not ruin the operation. You, Officer Gozen, ought to have followed orders, but as you helped see the mission through, I won't comment any further on this issue."

Glancing over to the other soldiers, she jabbed a finger towards the unconscious felon. It didn't take any words for them to understand what she wanted, as they went along to carry the body with them.

"Captain, I leave the bandit under your jurisdiction. Officer Gozen will come with me for the time being."

Without even waiting for his response, Ecystera made for the camp's exit.

"Oh thank you," smiled Penthesilea, taking the licorice in both gnarled hands. "There is always time to set aside for sweet things, after all." Taking a small bite out of the licorice, and sipping the fruit juice, she turned her gaze on Kirile.

"My dear, your eyes are wet," she said concernedly, tilting her head to one side with a worried frown on her face. "Have you been crying?" She set her drink down upon the table and placed her hands primly on her lap.

Reassignment

"In any case, Captain, Officer Gozen did not ruin the operation. You, Officer Gozen, ought to have followed orders, but as you helped see the mission through, I won't comment any further on this issue."

Yes Ma'am

Matabei's voice was tinged with dejection and resignation. Thankfully, the Temple Knight decided to intervene, less so to come to her defence, but more so that she had more things to do than to tarry around at the bandits base. The
Captain didnt feel like letting Matabei off so lightly, but he wasn't going to risk his neck refusing the Temple Knight's order. They were as highly ranked as the Great Healer, the Head of Military and them. So the officer got off easy from the ear blasting.

"Captain, I leave the bandit under your jurisdiction. Officer Gozen will come with me for the time being."

*Grumble grumble*..... Very well. The militia will clean up the battle.

I will be departing then, Captain. It has been a pleasure to have been under your care.

Can your sarcasm Gozen.

Matabei was courteous to the bones, and she thanked anyone that ever took her in, but it sometimes came off as sarcasm, such as now. It didnt matter, however. Even though she outranked him in ranking, Major Swift has placed her under the Captain's control, so his snide remarks were taken unpunished. Rather than reply, Matabei gave the Captain and the Militia one last bow and quickly trotted after the Temple Knight. It didnt take long with her long legs. As soon as she caught up, Matabei asked,

Ah, Ma'am. Where else will you be needing me?

Kirile

While she was happy that Penthesilea was enjoying the licorice. However, she wasn’t so happy that she had noticed her crying. Turning slightly red in embarrassment, she quickly turned around as to not look her mentor in the eye. “N-no… not at all,” she lied. Kirile quickly wiped her eyes with the backs of her hands to make them dry. She didn’t like it when people saw her cry because she didn’t like making people worry about her.

However, she knew that Penthesilea wouldn’t take Kirile’s lie for an answer… and Kirile didn’t enjoy lying to her… or anyone very much for that matter. “Well… Yes, I-I was… But please do not pay it much mind. It was nothing, really, I am fine…” She quickly turned back around to face her Mentor again and the quickly sat down at the table with her hands folded on top of the other. “How did you mission go? Were you able to heal him,” she asked, quickly changing the subject.

Ah, Ma'am. Where else will you be needing me?

Ecystera didn't stop walking, though she did slow down a little. "Nowhere else, actually," remembering then that there probably wasn't a need to slow down, she resumed her previous pace. Her direction was towards the city, where she would at least report the outcome of the mission to the Head of Military Forces.

It was more a formality - she wasn't even under his command.

"As a matter of fact, I just wanted to compliment you on your performance earlier. I must say that was nothing short of spectacular."

Especially since she came fast enough to interrupt Ecystera's attempt to complete the mission before her help arrived, but the Temple Knight knew better than to say that out.

Throwing Matabei a sideways glance, she added coolly,"Gozen was it? I'll be sure to commend your performance. I hope to work with you again."

She didn't say that to a lot of people. However, this was one of the few times she felt she wouldn't be saying that in vain. When the time did come, she would really want to work with this person again.

Then keeping silent, she continued towards the city at her brisk pace.

Gozen Matabei

Good Impressions...

"Nowhere else, actually,"

I see....

That baffled Matabei slightly as she now wonders what the Temple Knight wanted with her. Taking care as to not walk on par with the Knight, Matabei slowed her pace and her stride, always a step behind. It may as well be a good thing since Matabei raised an eyebrow in confusion. Being behind her meant that at the very least, the Knight wouldn't have seen it on her face.

"As a matter of fact, I just wanted to compliment you on your performance earlier. I must say that was nothing short of spectacular."

Matabei instinctively puffed out her chest in pride and stood taller from the praise. Praise from their superior is the highest reward for warriors and Matabei was pleased her effort had placated someone of such high standings such as the Temple Knight.

Gozen was it? I'll be sure to commend your performance. I hope to work with you again."

Yes Temple Knight Sama. My surname is Gozen, given name Matabei. It was an honour to have been of assistance to you. Should you be in need of my assistance, i will be more than gladly help..... uh... that is with permission from my superiors....

Matabei had not forgotten the grilling she got a few minutes ago for not listening to her superiors. Last thing she wanted was to destroy the Knights impression of her. In any case, it appeared that they were heading towards the main barracks, most likely to report in on the mission. Since they were going in the same direction, Matabei followed the Temple Knight towards the barracks as they entered the city

Ah. It is an honour

Honour...

It was amusing realizing that she had previously thought the same when she was still aspiring to be a Temple Knight. It was a day like any other, and it quickly became chaotic before long. A losing battle was being fought, and the inevitable deaths of her family and herself was imminent. That is, until the Temple Knight arrived and saved the day. He was not merely wrecking havoc. He was havoc itself.

Back then, she thought the same thing. It was an honour meeting him, and getting to see the amazing skills that he possessed.

In retrospect, that was what inspired Ecystera down the path of the Temple Knight. Otherwise, she would have had been a heiress to a small family business who would later marry for convenience.

Glancing at the path ahead, she realized she had forgotten what Matabei was saying. She shrugged off this fact as she entered the barracks, not bothering by now if Matabei was even following.

As she had guessed, the Head of the Military forces was on the training grounds, drilling his Knights. She strode over to the man, nodding her head in acknowledgement as she approached. The Temple Knight and the Head of the Military Forces were of equal status and rank, to quite a significant extent, though the Head has ultimate control over the military.

That being the case, Ecystera felt it was only appropriate that she reported on a mission that involved his forces - even though the military was under her command as well.

"Mission accomplished," was all she said as she turned to look over at the soldiers he was drilling. She hated these reports; Ecystera never knew what exactly to say.

For Sorvahr, it was time. Time to unleash his long suppressed fury onto Aina and all of its people. Sorvahr lifted himself into the air and launched towards the South, where he would find Aina. During his flight to Aina, Sorvahr began to prepare the summonings for his precious titans that he would open up war with. As he arrived he intentionally landed in the most slummy are closest to the castle. There was practically nobody there.

Starting off with a simple cast, he summoned some Hell Hounds of average strength. He wasn't far from the castle, so his Hell Hounds wouldn't go un-noticed. It didn't take long for there to be screams from some people, as the hounds began to attack pedestrians immediately. The Hell Hounds were quick in their movements and quickly separated into the areas of Aina. Sorvahrs plan was to distract the military forces by creating constant amounts of Hell Hounds. Every time onw would be killed, another would appear and continue the attack until Sorvahr was ready to summon is beloved fiends of the elements.

-------------------

REQUIREMENT:

Every military unit must fight and kill at least 5 Hell Hounds each. The Great Healers will have an NPC messenger ask them to tend to the wounded. The Princes are free to do what they wish at this point in time.

Alex let the wind blow softly through his hair as he turned towards the castle. Alexandus had grown tired of waiting for his twin to return and felt even more frustrated once he discovered that he had eaten mostly all of the candy he had bought and intended to share. He had sat up from the front steps of the castle on which he remained eating and people watching for the last few moments. Turning just about to enter the castle entrance Alexandus felt a familiar shivering cold on the back of his neck as his vision suddenly switch towards another's.

HE could see hounds of a most demonic presence descend upon the grounds of the castle, biting into any woman child or man they could see. Alarmed by this Alexandus rushed toward the castle informing the castle guards of what he had seen. They would no doubt spread the word of what was happening to their superiors. After this it was off to the throne room. Alex ran up stairs through maids and around corridors before he could finally make it to the throne room. "Mother! Father!" he spoke as he begun to retell his vision of horror.

Hunter

"Mission accomplished." Came a females voice from behind him which hunter immediately recognised as Ecystera, the Templar Knight. She was of the same rank as he, none were better than the other and none were more important than the other. He just controlled the military unit. Hunter had great respect for the woman however...but she was a little uptight.

"I wouldn't have expected anything less." He smiled as he turned around to face the woman. "...and the wou--" But he was unable to finish his sentence when screams began to flood the castle boundaries.

"That doesn't sound good..." He muttered before turning his attention to his knights. "You four! Get your armour on and see what the commotion is. Take the appropriate action." He turned to Ecystera and smiled. "Looks like we have a job on our hands." He then nodded as he walked away from her.

He exited the castle walls and the first thing he noticed were Hell Hounds, they were tormenting the villagers, tearing them apart and eating there flesh! It was a hideous sight and Hunter knew four knights would not be enough to stop this. He turned back and called the rest on the training ground to help, a few were selected to get the villagers out of harms way and the rest were to fight the beasts. Hunter would join them of course. He could never pass up a good fight, specially as it had been a while since he'd last participated in a real battle.

Standing near the entrance to the gate, he spotted a hound running at him. so he lifted his sword from it's sheath, holding it like a gun and shot three fireballs at the disgusting creature. The gem on the handle glowing as each ball of flames left the blade of the sword. All the balls hit the hound and it flopped to the ground, defeated. That was one down.

~*~

Saylar

The elf continued to walk to his bed chambers when strange sounds from outside caught his attention. He ran to the nearest window and peered out. Noticing the guards from the training grounds were rushing to exit the castle walls. Why where the knights in such a hurry?? Saylar ran to the window on the far wall, it had a better view of the village surrounding the castle and there he saw the hounds.

"Oh no!" He gasped holding his delicate hand to his lips, the castle was under attack by some form of hideous dog, it looked like Hell Hounds but from this distance he couldn't be sure! He knew he'd be needed, and the other two healers as well, so he ran back to the Library as fast as he could before reaching the library, holding onto the arched door, gasping for air as he called to the others.

"Kirile, Penfesilea, fve castle is under attack!"

Ecystera Rasmorya

So she let Hunter do most of the talking, even though she didn't exactly identify with his words. No doubt, her doing well was a given - an obligation. She stared at the Head of Military Forces silently as he spoke, until he was interrupted by screams from close by.

"Looks like we have a job on our hands," said Hunter after addressing his Knights.

"No rest for the weary."

She turned to follow after Hunter, splitting up at the castle walls to move to another point in the city. Ecystera knew that with the Head in the area, there should be no problem. Like herself, he didn't rise to the position out of sheer luck. It was pure determination, and an almost obsessive desire to succeed.

Or maybe it applied only to her.

Nevertheless, as she approached the area she would help defend, she grabbed a sword from a fallen Guard as she surveyed the area. The Hell Hounds were running rampant here, biting ferociously into anything living. The Guards were trying to retaliate, but they were starting to dwindle in numbers as, one by one, they fell.

Ecystera gripped her blade, and sprinted towards a hound in the motion of a leap onto a helpless citizen. Blade ate into flesh as the hound was dragged by the motion of the finishing blow. Stepping on it's carcass, Ecystera removed the blade ignoring the gratitude-filled female as she went to aid other Guards.

Ruexian

It wasn’t too long after Ruexian had left the “Great” Healer that he heard the sounds of… hounds. However, these were any ordinary hounds. Quite the contrary, they were Hellhounds. “Now this… this will be fun.” He said. The tone in his voice was absolutely filled to the brim with malice. It was almost as if he was waiting for an attack like this. Going through the front gate wasn’t an option if he wanted to make it in the castle on time. Ruexian took off running right towards the wall of the castle and jumped. As soon as he jumped he fired two huge fireballs at the ground under him.

The impact of them and the concussion of the explosions sent him flying. Of course, his calculations were completely correct… like always, and he landed right on the battlements of the castle. As soon as he landed he fired lightning at the head of the nearest Hellhound. Just as expected, it dropped instantly. From the battlements he could see a few others. There was Hunter, and a few others, but Hunter was leaving… probably to save the townsfolk.

More Hellhounds showed up to play. Each and every one of them looked ready to kill. “All the more fun for me…”

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kirile

“Kirile, penfesilea, fve castle is under attack!” The sound of that statement made Kirile jump. Suddenly, Ruexian being mean to her wasn’t on her mind anymore. The castle was under attack… why was the castle under attack? Who was attacking it? “W-what do we do?” She asked. She was scared… she had never heard of something like this happening. For a minute she was wishing that Saylar was joking about it… but no one would joke about something like that.

It seemed as if today her skills really would be put to the test.

The screams of chaos and the despair of civilians filled Sorvahrs ears and gave him quite the smile. Still pumping out more Hell Hounds, he was pleased with the speed that they fell. With him being around, the air grew cold and the sky filled with dark clouds. He began to wonder if anyone was smart enough to believe this was the doing of a god said to be dead...Said to have been killed over 200 years ago by the Queen Oriana.

Drake

Enjoying his drinks in his pub, he was unpleasantly disturbed when a beast charged into the pub and began to attack the people. Standing up with a hard pound of his fist onto the bar, Alexander made the wooden floor underneath him fold open and then close on the Hell Hound. It still held onto a woman's leg and made very angry noises. Those noses slowly turned into whimpers as the wood that made the floor slowly squeezed tighter and tighter. Eventually, the Hell Hound was split entirely in half and the floor went back to the way it was before.

As a Geomancer, he had a duty to protect the people. He knew what he had to do, but that's not to say he enjoys doing it. Alexander decided he would head to the castle now, but take an erratic route to try killing as many Hell Hounds as possible.

Gordon

Previously strolling in the castle, Gordon was taken away from his peace of mind to see soldiers rushing about. He hadn't been paying much attention, simply walking around. He could tell this was no running punishment, they were all too serious rather than the usual annoyed look when being punished. As a result, Gordon turned around and ran with them. He asked out loud for all to hear, "So what's the hurry? Have you all got a fair lady to save?"

Only one guard answered him, yelling from behind his own shoulder, "Commander Gordon, the castle is under attack!"

"Oh dear, someone must have had a bad meal."

Another soldier quickly snapped, "Please sir, this is a serious attack!"

Gordon kept running with them all, "Well, we can't all be serious you know." Gordon smirked, "Besides, it's good to have something to do." After that, there was no response.

Upon reaching the door to the castle, there were three Hell Hounds all at the gate. Hell Hounds? Here? How strange. "Men, kill two of them, I need to have a warm up dance with this one." Gordon said as he pointed to the Hell Hound in the middle. First thing was first though, Gordon sent out a few binding mines on the castle gates. If something happened, the gates couldn't move until a good minute, giving reinforcements some time. As the soldiers went for the two Hell Hounds, the middle Hell Hound went to attack one of the guards.

Gordon picked up a pebble and threw it at the hell Hound that was laying on the guard, threatening with its teeth. "Over here, I'm getting bored, so dance with me." The Hell Hound slowly walked towards him, the guard panting on the ground, stunned to be alive most likely. With a leap forward, the hell hound launched itself with a powerful jump, but Gordon was not impressed. "Inertia, you idiot." He said as he angled his sword so that it would trail all the way own the hounds throat. Once it was deep inside, he cut through the entire upper body of the hound.

Gozen Matabei

No time to waste!

Screams echoed through the hallways of the castle from the outside. Civilians. The city was under attack. It didn't matter by whom, only that Matabei had no time to waste.

Sir, i shall be off to the town's defense!

Again, like before with the bandits, Matabei took off without waiting for permission, but she could care less about it right now. Fellow knights and soldiers scrambled to defensive positions and armoury, but all peeled to the side as the giant warrior stormed down the hallway. Taking more unorthodox pathways, Matabei leaped onto rooftops and stormed out of the castle and caught sight of the Head of Military not too far ahead at the gate. He fired off three fireballs at what appears to be hellhounds. Unfortunately, Matabei had very little talent with magic. Instead, she stormed past Sir Hunter before throwing herself high into the air and plunging downwards, her Jumongi Spear skewering a hell hound under her with her entire weight. No creature can ignore 80kg of human and armour crushing down on their spine and the hell hound was no exception. It promptly collapsed to the ground, dead before its corpse was flung to the side as Matabei withdrew her spear. Now in the thick of the battle with her fellow knights, it was time to clean out the area.

Come, you mangy beasts! Gozen Matabei will gladly end your miserable exsistance!

With a mighty swing, Matabei's Naginata came out from behind her back in one hand and swung at another Hell Hound that tried to approach. In her haste, the swing was early and rather than dicing through the beasts head, it cut cleanly through its leg. As it dropped to one side, Matabei stepped forward to finish it off.

Alex sat looking out of the window of his room. His room, residing in a tower of the west wing of the castle looked down at the terrible monstrosities ravaging the city. All Alex could do was stare and do nothing. According to his parent he must remain in the castle unharmed. To them they were protecting their child but for him it was painful.

Minute and after minute visions of people being torn limb from limb by foul beasts flooded his mind for a flash and then faded away. Alex didn't want to see such gore, and violence without finding a suitable means to stop the madness that was occurring right at this moment. It was hard resisting the temptation of disobeying his parents and helping the brave soldiers who had fought off the terrible demons. The spirit of fighting was within him, but even Alexandus knew that his skills could not match the high ranking soldiers out on the battlefield. His personality had begun to slip towards a mix of depression and woe as he saw the gore minute after minute, never ceasing to exist.

It wasn't until a vision of a royal carriage being overrun by foul beasts and attacking the guard did Alex shout in and instant in surprise. He couldn't tell for sure whom the carriage belong to, but if it was his brother whom he didn't see return to the castle, Alex would never forgive himself for not protecting his twin. In an instant change of mood and heart, Alex rushed to his closet, putting on protective clothes made of touch material. After slipping on his boots and his red jacket, Alex fastened his fighting claws upon his hands and opened the window of his room.

Screams could be heard echoing from outside below. It was much too high for Alex to jump. The castle guard wouldn't dare let him out after he had warned the castle of the foul demons who had sure enough entered the city. Alex had pushed this fact aside. He was going to do what HE wanted to do and that was to go and find his twin. With his mind made up and his attitude growing sour by the second, Alexandus had burst through the double doors of his chamber.
