Multiple Platforms Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City

Here is more information about the free DLC for Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City.

One of the coolest aspects of Operation Raccoon City's multiplayer is its three-sided battlefield. Umbrella Security Service members, who are there to cover up the zombie outbreak, clash with Spec-Ops soldiers sent to get answers and figure out exactly what went down. While those two factions bicker and trade shots, zombies and BOWs wreak havoc all around, targeting anything with a pulse.

Thanks to the campaign story, we get to spend some time with the USS and, even though they're technically the bad guys, relate to them on some level. But what about those Spec-Ops folks? Well, they're going to be playable in a free DLC mission coming April 10 to Xbox 360 and PS3, one that just so happens to revisit an important moment from Resident Evil 3...

This free mission features not just the Spec-Ops squad (most prominently seen in the incredible Triple Impact trailer), but also recreates the scene where Jill Valentine must escape the rampaging Nemesis. So we get a shot at new characters, plus a chance to see an old favorite caught in the middle.

But who are the Spec-Ops characters, anyway? Why I've got these official descriptions right here:

Dee-ay

Crispin ‘Dee-Ay’ Jettingham has been a soldier for as long as he can remember. He was the government’s top choice to be the leader of the Echo Six team. Always calm and collected, he is a true soldier and is highly skilled and efficient with his weaponry and his orders.

Harley

A foul-mouthed ex-biker, Erez ‘Harley’ Morris joined the service to avoid going to jail. Excelling in medicine during operation Desert Storm, Harley unexpectedly became one of the best medics in the field. Always putting other’s lives before his, he will always do his best to make sure no man is left behind.

Party Girl

Sienna ‘Party Girl’ Fowler got her reputation throwing wild parties in her youth for businessmen and officials. Little did they know that every party she threw was also recorded with hidden equipment, which would be sold to the highest bidder. The government hired her after she managed to dupe their top surveillance expert at one of her parties.

Shona

Exposed to death at a young age, Lawrence ‘Shona’ Kimbala began treating diseases in his home country of Zimbabwe. After his father's death, he attended Harvard medical school where he realized he had a skill for controlling viruses instead of curing them. He joined the Army’s special weapons program as their foremost expert in virology.

Tweed

Marissa ‘Tweed’ Ronson has a quick tongue and a ready fuse. Originally working for the British Secret Service, she disappeared after a bomb removal operation left her scarred. Hand-picked by the government, Tweed became part of Echo Six because of her un-paralleled expertise in demolitions.

Willow

Caroline ‘Willow’ Floyd developed her skill for speed and elusion growing up alone on a reservation in Montana. She joined the Army straight out of school, excelling as part of the Special Forces. Never satisfied with herself, Willow continues to hone her skills each and every day.

Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City hits the US March 20, following in EU on March 23. The PC version follows on May 18.

Those SPEC-OPs characters look kick ass, Party Girl, what a weird nickname, I really hope my broke ass can get this game, I will hate myself if not. Wait did I read that right free DLC? That's pretty cool, I am definitely getting this for PS3, since I currently have no XBOX, and I already own RE5 for PS3 anyway xD Thanks for posting that her Hakumen :)

Her name is Party Girl because she threw a lot of parties, and secretly recorded everyone she's ever had.

Anyway,

Who's ready to kick some ass. And who's going to the Midnight Release, I am. :griin:

Oh so there is a midnight release? If my parents let me use the car I just might go, if not there is always the taxi. That way I am good and ready to kick some ass tomorrow.

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City launch trailer released

The launch trailer for Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City had landed. Watch it below. Reviews, which are all over the place, can be found here in our handy-dandy round-up, and another look through Sam Clay’s eyes here. It’s out in the UK Friday.

L4D? Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City in action

With Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City hitting later this week in Europe, we take a hi-res look at the campaign of Slant Six’s addition to Capcom’s zombie favourite.

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is built from the group-up for co-op and multiplayer, and features squad-based combat set in the timeline between Resident Evil 2 and 3. Raccoon City is about to be subjected to the G-virus, and you’re in the middle of a great deal of violence as a Umbrella Security Service operative.

The review embargo now up and we’ve seen a 2/5 from Joystiq, 4/10 from IGN and 4/10 from Eurogamer. In the video above, Sam Clay takes a look at the early stages of the shooter’s campaign, which is playable with up to three other people.

If story’s not your bag, there’s a bunch of other modes in ORC, which pitch Spec Ops against USS.

Operation Raccoon City is out on Friday in Europe and the US today for PS3 and 360. A PC version is to follow at an unspecified date.

To those of you wanting easy XP, the best way to get tons of XP is -

The Last Level - End of the Road // Dead End

» get all the way to the last part of the mission, where Leon S. Kennedy is sniping you from a safe spot.

» go up a little bit so the commander will speak to you, after that go kill a few zombies a little further up -

» now go back near the ammo crate and prepare for infinitely respawning Crimson Heads. They will come at you 4-10 at a time.

You might want to do this as Lupo, since one of her passive skills is quick reload, and use the Riot Gun as well. Also, on a private session, so no one fucks it up.

Have fun farming.

Catch A Glimpse Of Jill In Free Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City DLC Mission

As previously reported, Resident Evil: Operation Racoon City is getting a free DLC mission next week, that lets you play as the U.S. Spec Ops. This mission actually takes place during Resident Evil 3, while Jill Valentine is attempting to escape the Nemesis. If you watch closely, you’ll catch a glimpse of her in the trailer below:

This mission is the first of many in a U.S. Spec Ops campaign that will run across six additional downloadable missions, which will be released as paid DLC later down the line. Sherry Birkin looks like she’ll be making an appearance somewhere along the line as well, but we can’t tell if it will be in this mission. The free mission will be released on April 10th.

This game was pretty fuckign shite i thought.

I finished it in a few hours on my first playthrough. The characters were boring and had no story. The computer AI was just ridiculous and served no usefull purpose at all. It would sometimes just stand there and shoot random cars and walls or run into mines. It had to be played with mates to be done right. Ammo ran out too quickly and you didnt get enough. Unless you were spectre and could see ammo on the map it was a pain in the hole to find. I hated that you automatically went into cover when you went near an object, it was such a nuisance. The hit detection with guns was awfull. The damage to zombies seemed random and your shots didnt always register when shooting from near cover. Why no headshot damage? The game had so much potential and yet it was such a let down. The lenght of the game in particular was what really urked me the most. It felt like it was a DLC story and not a full game.

Dad had this game for a little while. I didn't like it much. It was just.... It didn't feel like Resident Evil to me. I know my Mom didn't like watching him play the game. Dad really didn't like it either. It moved too far away from what made it popular. This game was just a total fail to us. At least 6 made up for this game. XD
