Refresh Button For SB/problems with SB

I don't usually get this problem when there are few active users on the SB,but when there are a LOT, the SB starts lagging - so why not add a refresh button to resolve this problem?

Also when I enter something it sometimes comes as a double post or it doesn't come on at all, meaning I have to write it all again(sometimes when I write something and press enter it says error bad gateway or something). It's been happening for some time now, and it's really annoying, especially when you're arguing with someone.

+1 for aggreing the lag on the shoutbox is starting to bug me as well and adding an refresh button is soo simple....

also i remember posting about the website claiming that you double posted once before it still not been solved

well refreshing my entire (browser? would you say?) takes a while, for me anyway.

There's also the option to Detach the SB from the site - I've personally never used it, but maybe that might solve some issues? It's worth a try.

I would like to address this concern. This is a shoutbox, this is not an active chatroom. The difference being the screen takes time to refresh in between shouts often times. If you are arguing, I recommend you take it to MSN. It's not lag. If it were lag it would be in effect even with 2 users.

This has to do with post frequency. A refresh button will not be added at this time, unless the Technical fellas want to dive into the VB shout boxes code, in which would take hours of expensive analysis. I would suggest using the shout box as it was intended.

This would be a great idea if the shoutbox didn't eat your shouts. The whole forum has been lagging anyway, it was only the other day you couldn't get on entirely.

You might be using html code as well without you noticing it. You can not use a few symbols anymore in the shout box stand alone. Like the \ and / symbols.

\ will actually eat your shout. As far as not getting on entirely, is the date and time stamped on the screen shot and could you send it to @Belazor or @Dragonbytetech.

Though the shoutbox has always eaten shouts, despite lag. So a refresh button I doubt would fix the problem as the OP originally suggest.

You can not use a few symbols anymore in the shout box stand alone. Like the \ and / symbols.

\ can now be used. / will not be usable because / at the start of a shout is reserved for chat commands.

\ will actually eat your shout.

I am not, it's eaten a good 7/8 shouts within the past hour alone which have only contained letters of the alphabet and not "/ \ : ;" etc.
