C'mon cali hahahaha Toby M--whatever his last name is was so terrible at playing peter parker

the films were good and that's what I really care about. but since you mentioned it, i think Tobey Maguire is a good spider man. :hmph: The spider man trilogy with Toby earned $2,496,346,518 world wide in total, that's a pretty amazing number, especially since all three films were steady with box-office world wide performances. Obviously a lot others felt he was a good Peter as well especially since the man himself Stan Lee said that Toby IS spiderman. I'm not saying he was the best actor but I can already tell he's better than this new guy. :lew: I grew up with watching Toby as spider man and I just can't imagine anyone else as him. :/

I'm not saying the amazing spider man will be bad, I'm hoping it's good--but like I said, I just don't think it will be as amazing as the first trilogy. also, like I said before, the dude they chose for peter, he looks like he took edward cullen's hair style. :wacky:

The first thing I thought when I saw the new kid playing spiderman was that he was a bit of a pretty boy and hardly a nerd :hmmm: But I hate that Tobey guy so much that I am willing to look over this.

See, he's a edward cullen look-a-like. :mokken: and i can't look past it. :hmph:

Tobey Maguire was a terrible actor
Stan Lee would like to disagree.

oh, and i agree with stan lee about toby being spider man :ari:

well, we're talking about opinions right? my opinion is that toby is a good spider man.

By who? the same people that claim Avatar is one of the best films of all time?

The jazz scene wasn't bad, i thought. it was peter being jealous and trying to make MJ jealous of his new arm candy. it was needed. and i think people's main problem with the third film is that they don't realize that most of the scenes they "cringed" at weren't supposed to be serious. like someone i met thought that the scene where pete's walking down the street and points at the girls was supposed to be serious... when it was supposed to be a joke. if people dislike the film because it has comedy then... well, whatever that's their thing :lew:

it did have too many characters, though--i agree on that much. they should have removed Brock and Gwen (I like sandman too much to want him out). the story wasn't weak in my opinion either. it wasn't the best out of the trilogy but it wasn't bad either. I thought the worse actor in the film was (cant believe Im saying this because I love him) but james franco. he seemed... odd to watch on screen. and I'm usually a huge fan of his :/ maybe it was cuz there were too many actors on screen but he just faded to the background to me. :/

I didn't think it was meant to be serious, I don't know how anyone could think it was serious as it was clearly a joke. Unfortuantely not all jokes are funny.

well, i know the theater i was in everyone started to laugh :/ including myself

Stan Lee says things like that out of politeness, I think. He's always very enthusiastic and supportive of Marvel movies and their stars. That's the kind of thing that he says all of the time.

I was at a convention with him earlier on in the year and he suggested that he liked both Toby and Andrew Garfield. They are both Spiderman in different ways.

As for the movies, to each their own. I didn't find the Spiderman movies as bad as other people did, but I also did not like them as much as any of the Marvel joint-universe movies. I agree with people that Toby's Spider-man/Parker wasn't much for me. There was too much of a focus on going gooey eyed and wobbly around Mary-Jane. There weren't enough wise-cracks or anything. It seems like Garfield's Spiderman may have more of these.

basically, the new spiderman will actually be spiderman, and not a superhero with spiderman's likeness.

spiderman 3 was atrocious. the emo peter parker scene made me want to punch sam raimi in the face, and sam raimi doesn't usually deserve to be punched in the face.
