Playstation Parasite Eve

Mobile phone? Hm, Im not keen on that idea, wish theyd do a remake. But stranger things have happened, so who knows!

1st one was great as well as second. The 1st one had great music and like the parasite energy system much better. Weapon selecion was also nice with how you could customize it, and beautifull soundtrack to go a long. Second one better graphics decent energy system, good weapons system especially with the riffle, gotta love the laser gun attachment. Replay value good in both of them more towards the second one though cause you get to try and get multiple ranks and fight golems early on.

If the 3rd does come out and is moble release only I will not get it for fear that it would be screwed up to hell and beyond and back again.

I played like 5 minutes of this game at a friends house. Like when it first came out. That was the first and last time I ever seen the game. I've been looking for it for so long and I cant find it anywhere. I fell in love with it right away. But I still cant find it. :-(

There were two similar threads in the The World is Square and Playstation, so I've merged the two together.

And yeah, it really sucks that PE3 is only for mobile available in Japan...I think. Or is it also available in the U.S? (not that I'd play it even if that was the case). I was really disappointed to hear the news nonetheless.

Yes, I can't express my disappointment of the PE3 phone thing...I never play any portable systems so I'm always disappointed when a numbered series comes out for something other then a console. PE2 was one of my favorite Playstation games. Had great graphics and I think I was even more enthralled with that then RE or SH.

Ok didnt see a thread started for this game series so im making one now. First off I would like to say how great the first two were for their time. I love the survival horror mixed into a rpg, that was a creative twist. Next comes the battle system which obviously got changed between the two. In one it was more like your typical atb charge gauge, while in two it took a resident evil path. I actually liked the level system in one, and it was a shame they took it away in two.

As far as story line goes where to start, without giving away spoilers. The concept of the Mitochondria having their own will within the body and wanting to take over the world through a being called eve, cause they took over the body of someone else. That took me getting used to because it was intresting to see how something within the body could take over it. The second shys away from the whole mitochondria taking over but instead focus's on a group that cloned the main character from the first one, and in a small sense is trying to find a way to recreate the world for them to controll. They do this by saying a way to become immortal, but in reality they are just turning people into monsters.

Now lets get to the third one. Which is on the psp. This I have not yet beat but am currently in the process of playing. So far it takes 10-14 years after the events of the second game, and goes away completely away from the mitochondria events and monsters. Instead we are given a new enemy called the twisted and our heroine has no memory of her past life but is slowly regaining it. Still even more disappointing she has lost her powers for a second time, thus again making her weaker then she previously was.

Ahh, the memories... :ryan:

I liked the first one, with the main focus of 'Eve' and her control of Mitochondria. The gameplay was alright, Although what sucked was that the game heavily focused on guns and the recover spell.

The second one was pretty awesome, mind you, I didn't mind so much the RE style change, but also was nice that you actually had to use magic to efficiently get through some of the areas! The story was also pretty awesome, aswell, Although the boss of the first PE was easier than the 2nd.

These two games were hella dope. They really bring back great memories from my childhood. I'd actually ask my Dad if he could play it because I wanted to watch. XD I wish we could find our old copies. They're gone. :( ..... But still, these two games were amazing. :)

I LOVE PE1! I remember staying up all night just to get to the next part the first time around that I played it! But I remember giving up that first time because I couldn't get past the bubble breath master later on in the first disk. Recently, I replayed it and surprisingly easily made it past that part, but the second disk wouldn't work...damn emulator stuff!!!! :( I love it probably for its RPG element since all I ever play are RPG's. That's probably why I didn't like the second one because it changed that and because it changed, when I tried to shoot the monsters, I couldn't and didn't know how to get her to start shooting. I was just standing there pressing all the buttons on my keyboard with a "OMG!" expression. -_- But, yeah, the first one is definitely a good game; absolutely one of my favorites. PE2, can't say but my brother actually likes it better than the first one. As for the Third Birthday that actually came out for the PSP, it was so sad that they ruined the series that way. I have not played it and don't plan on it, but I watched the Gametrailers review and it was horrible; they gave it such a low score. There were so many flaws! I feel like it may be because they saw it as a small game, too, as it was for the PSP and not its own big game like the other two for a PS console. If they had given it more importance, it may have turned out to be just as good and worthy as the other two titles and as a part of the series.

I like the gameplay of this game since it involves learning when and how to use your items/weapons right as well as learning how to dodge well while waiting for your CT(Charge Time) to go up before you can initiate any action.

lol

Don't really remember the game too well...but it has been one of my favorite PSX games. The story fits well with the genere of it being a scientific/action/RPG game. And the post game "Chrysler Tower" cannot really be done on partial scratched disks, because you cannot save while your in the tower; and it would be bad if your game downright froze while in the middle of the dungeon. Though you can get keys to allow you to go to the higher floors up to the point where you left off whenever you have to leave the tower to save the game. Especially, after defeating every boss there.

Parasite Eve was an awesome PSX game, and arguably one of Squaresoft's best non-FF titles at the time. I recently played this about 3 weeks ago. It actually wasn't too difficult to beat, but I find the game plus to be a bit of a pain -- Chrysler Building would take me forever, so I kinda gave up on it. x_x

The story in the first game really pulled me in. I like sci-fi ish plots that sound reasonable enough to be true. xD I'm definitely not interested in playing PE 2 though because the battle/gameplay looks atrocious. The 3rd Birthday sounds like a step in the right direction storywise, but I'm hesitant since I've heard so much crap about that game... lol.
