Other FF sites hacked

You may not be aware of this but someone has started hacking Final Fantasy related sites.I mean fan sites and not just gaming sites.
Another site I post on was hacked and it has been taken over by the hacker as of this morning.

I presume the original owners will regain control at some point.

Just be aware that this is happening and be on the lookout for any unapproved activity that could be a hacking attempt.:hal:
 
People have a lot of personal info on forums/sites etc. like emails. Hate to see hackers getting that info. Changing passwords would be wise (if your pw is the same as your email pw) and also if FFF would be taken down it would be troublesome obviously, but I dont think hackers would get very far with this action.

Most of the time it could have been an inside job. Maybe someone had a grudge on that forum.

i've been part of quite a few communities where sites were hacked. and by "hacked", i mean an administrator's account name and password to the admin control panel were given, or various other administrative tools were compromised such as ftp and etc.

Sometimes things are not as simple as they might seem :monster:
 
The hackers seem to be claiming to be affiliated with the occupy movement here in the US.Could be a red herring though.

The mods there seemed to be aware someone was attempting to hack them yesterday.I changed my password there.It was the same one I was using here.I also changed my password here.
As it is different from my email password I expect it shoildn't cause me any problems with it.

Wow, if the occupy thing's right those people are sad. What's hacking a forum gonna do for their supposed "cause"?

If it gets hacked, it gets hacked. It's really not the end of the world. Chances are the people who are doing the hacking are just doing it to prove whatever point they wish to prove, it's unlikely they're going to hack a Final Fantasy forum for personal details when there are far more serious sites to hack for that stuff.

Who really cares THAT much?
 
I saw that today. :hmmm: only way i can access this site on my phone is by googling it, and the second link was FFShrine and all it said in the description was HACKED!! Just by that, tbh, didn't sound like a serious threat.
 
The shrine site is back up and running as I thought it would be.Glad of that.I just mentioned it in case someone tried to do the same here.I am not a mod so I don't know what precautions have been taken here to prevent/impede someone doing that here.
So I was just trying to warn them in case someone tried that here.
 
TBH the hackers don't seem to be posing much of a threat. It's just some kids being stupid. I'm sure the admins/mods on this site could handle it though. :-)
 
I really hope the hackers dont hack FFF but I think its probably unlikely because FFF mods and admins are to awesome for hackers :P
