american shows in general do make far more money, purely because there's a much larger target audience than anywhere else in the world. they also get quite popular in other countries for that, whereas the best of british tends to stay low key. they also make loads of money because the studios can't quit while they're ahead, and just have to commission more and more seasons - a la the simpsons - because it's such a cash cow

The simpsons is terrible now. I caught a new episode about a month ago and i couldnt belive how bad it had fallen. It was at its peak in the 90s. Seasons 7 8 and 9 were the best imo. After that it got shite for me.

Fresh prince of bel air was a very good show. I forgot about that one and speaking of will smith i watched i am legend for the first time last night.

The old Simpsons was boss. These days the humor is much more overt and ridiculous and the episodes seem more formulaic these days. Personally I think it is trying to compete with Family Guy but that's just me. :hmmm:

King of the Hill anyone?

i was never a huge fan of king of the hill. i think that was more culture based than most comedies. sort of like an american only fools and horses.

south park is the only one that is still running that is any good. FACT.

I enjoy Family guy. :hmmm: first 4 seasons were great, it got shit, and then it got good again. Not a fact though. Just my opinion ^_^

family guy has gotten a bit better, i saw a new one a couple of days ago where quagmire was going out with meg which was funny. it's still really lost it's touch though

I also liked The Office US, another one that started really good, got shit and is only just starting to get good again.
I love Californication but i am not sure if that is counted as a comedy :hmmm:
Also Community though it's starting to go bad :damon:
