seinfeld is shit

Blasphemy! Seinfeld is fucking hilarious.

I grew up on Seinfeld. I watch the reruns of the show every chance I get. It was the best show about nothing ever made.

monty python is just straight up strange.

my dad would watch that all the time back when i was growing up and still does from time to time--and i've yet to laugh at it once

Just because the British (and Irish) came up with a tiny handful of 'ok' shows (most of those I think are trash, imo) does not mean you can't enjoy the good American comedy shows :wacky:

Also you forgot Extras and inbetweeners off of your list.

Everything is such a competition with you people

For the record, I think the majority of Americans are mental. But they do make good TV. /smug

I agree on the most part about American comedies, and I do not tend to watch them.

The only one I do watch is the Big Bang Theory. A lot of people hate on it, but I guess I find it funny because I can relate to some of their jokes / have known people that show traits of the some of the characters in it / have some of those traits myself. Plus it is fun of nerdy interesting stuff.

Sitcoms in general do not appeal to me at all, and Big Bang Theory wouldn't if it was just about relationships and apartment troubles. Having this set against an academic and geeky lifestyle makes it more interesting.

But yay for British stuff. Blackadder, Red Dwarf, Fawlty Towers, Only Fools, etc.

I never got around to Monty Python though, for some reason. Monty Python just seemed a bit too cheesy, but I was willing to give it a chance. I attempted to watch it once as my Dad bought me a collection for Christmas... And I was going to watch it, but then my Dad thought that I mustn't be enjoying it so he took it back without asking me. :sad2: So I never saw much of it in the end.

Also (the very Irish) Father Ted is fantastic. Probably my favourite comedy series, or at least I know I'm guaranteed to find that one funny even on a bad day.

I like both pretty equally (and I'm a welshy):

British - My Family (not so much the newest series), Inbetweeners, Good Life and One Foot in the Grave were all amazingly funny imo. Good Life and OFitG were both good for being clean (as they were back then) and for just having warmth in the environments, characters and dialogue. My Family and Inbetweeners are just great at bringing the abnormal(ish) to the normal.

American - I love the animated stuff mostly (Family Guy, Simpsons). I do like Modern Family, Malcolm in the Middle and The Middle too though. Oh, and I did like Friends at the time, even though the canned laughter can get so annoying...seriously, it's like every 2 sentences if that. We don't need to be told when to laugh :hmph: .

What's that British car show? There's one dude in a three-wheeled car that constantly crashes

the only three wheeler i can think of is in only fools and horses, but it isn't a car show :hmmm:

there are far too few good comedies now. i think the it crowd was the last brilliant one, but there are some okay things coming out. i hate anything noel fielding tries now though, he's just a cunt

Maybe she means Top Gear?

But I dunno if there is a guy who drives a 3 wheeled car and always crashes in that.

Nooooo it was Top Gear! Haha that's the only British show I've seen.
